"...Magic?" That was the only possible power on display. Niku had brought both Yangcong and Amara into the interior of the small base camp's prison and was preparing to launch a full-scale interrogation on their prisoner. She had expected threats, deals, and harsh words - not whatever this was. What Saiyan actually knew magic, let alone applied it for actual use on a regular basis? "The Hell is is he even gonna-" Amara's question was abruptly answered as Matillo took a gut punch, some strange purplish glow flitting about the captive's body before a symbol appeared on his head. "-do." Apparently it was some sort of spell to make the man spill his guts on whatever they had primed him about before, and in this case, it was about his hostilities towards her father.
Though she was silent through the expository trance, a trace of visible anger could still be observed from her curled lip and clenched fists. "I know who he was," She interrupted Yangcong's explanation, tone icy. "I talked to him more than a few times. Always managed to get myself some snacks snuck aboard during long-haul trips..." To think that a smuggler of snacks would also be a smuggler of potentially lethal bombs. "I... I'd like to think that he didn't do it out of sheer malice. That Heran at least respected my Father and the job he had."
208He then looked to the ground, visibly this had bothered Yangcong that she knew this much but since she knew, he would continue on to tell her what had happened.
"A former soldier who use to work for your father, Taori. He was in the same unit as me but I never worked directly for him since I worked as a spy for your father. I was his sole agent that performed the task of espionage for his unit. I did things for your father that is unimaginable. I also had met with Oregano and found the information on who the mysterious man was. Though it doesn't help since the figure is hooded on the screen."
He would pull out a flash drive and give it to her as he continued to stare at her.
"Oregano is on it, receiving the shipment. Then later on, you will see him as well on it."
Even though he didn't need to give her this stick since she got all the spoken parts of the event. Perhaps in someway she wanted to also see it to believe it as well.
"Amara, I know I am not family.. but I will do my best to find who did this to your father..."

"Yangcong," Amara's voice was soft but firm, the Saiyan waiting until he was done to speak. "I know that you owe Garrick a lot for whatever favors he may have done for your service. Yet still, I feel like this needs to be asked. Why do you do the things you do?" Pausing only to take the offered stick and stowing the device away inside a capsule, Amara gestured for the older man to follow her outside and away from unwanted ears. "I don't mean helping me search for his murders. I mean everything else. You're in a criminal syndicate based on Earth, you toe the line between actually committing war crimes and espionage... why?" She was quiet enough to not be overheard, but that didn't diminish her seriousness one bit.
"I like to believe that Garrick was a good man who did good things and sometimes needed to do questionable things for the overall security of our entire species. And I, as his daughter and sole direct heir, seek to continue that legacy once I eventually claim my birthright in Sadala. You, Yangcong, seem to have no qualms when it comes to constant acts of evil. I'm not here to fight you or change your ways, but if you truly intend on standing by my side when I strike down my father's killers I want to know the truth. The full truth of what you do and why you do it. I cannot stand by and allow such a potential ally to be such an enigma. Do you understand?" This was a far cry from her usual brash, snippety persona. This Amara was one that was ready to fulfill her duty, and to that end, she needed Yangcong to be forthright.
A deep history Amara was unlocking as she wanted to know why he did what he did. He was asked this and the both of them walked outside as he had his arms to his back. She had outright asked him, she had found out that he was in an organization known as the Dirty Snakes. She knew too much that he couldn't keep hiding it from her anymore. He would sigh deeply, before turning to look at Amara with the eyes of a lost child. He then closed them as he turned away from her. Almost like he didn't want to tell her why.
"Amara.. You wouldn't understand this but."
He would look to her with the burnt side of his way to signify on what he was about to tell her.
"I loss my new born son and wife when I was around your age."
It probably wasn't around her age, but it seemed like it based on how she looks young.
"My wife died due to complications and my newborn son had died to the Lord that I was serving at the time. He tried killing my son before my eyes but I jumped in the way of a blast he had fired and that is how I got this permanent scar on my face. When it came to the aftermath however. My son had died and loss his life. He died in my arms. I killed the man who killed my son."
He would turn to face her.
"I became a Wanted man after that. But, it was your father who hid those charges away and dropped the case entirely. Which is why no one has heard about it. I am a war Veteran Hero to the saiyans because I killed three Lords that your father had told me to do. I did it because I owed him the biggest favor of a life time. He spared me a death sentence or a prison sentence entirely."
It then came down to why he does the things he does on Earth.
"As to why it comes down to my evil acts Amara. I can't tell you why I do it. I have been in this game for so long that all I have ever done and know was evil. I killed three Lords and got called Lordslayer from then on. A title I was given and never wanted. But when you are the only tuffle who serves with a bunch a saiyans and you do a strong deed as that. You get known pretty quickly. From then on, I found a group known as the Dirty Snakes.
The leader Derry, took me in. He knew I was strong and accepted me in. At the time Amara, I was being hunted down my everyone. When word spreads that I had killed Three Lords, I immediately had obtained a bounty on my head for a reward. No one can hide forever, not even me. Derry took me in and told me that his group could protect me. So I joined as an official member. I never wanted to be bad, no one is born that way. But before I am a saiyan Amara, I am first a tuffle. As a tuffle I don't have the strength to compete with the average saiyan like myself. So I have to constantly fight and get stronger in order to do so. I will accept any deal made, in order to achieve that power.
I don't have much time in this world Amara, sadly enough. I don't have kids or anyone at all. All I have is my will to continue. Until I get a new family and child, I won't ever rest or just relax. Until this war is over, I won't rest and relax. I grew up during the times of war. I have known it for 60 years, its all I care about. Your father was the only person that had my back when no one else did. You may see me as a monster for perhaps all of the crimes I have done and I won't fault you for that Amara."
He would then walk up to her and touch her shoulder if he let her.
"There is no formula that can give someone power naturally, I have to fight in order to gain it. That's how it is achieved..."
That's how he saw it in his eyes. He'd look to the sky and sighed to himself.
"Amara, you wanna know what us old folks want more than anything. To be back in our primes to be able to do the most with the little time we have left in this world. I have been working hard to try to restore my youth and get back my fighting energy again. I believe that is how I will win this war. If this world has something like that, then I want to get it by any means necessary... I don't expect you to understand what I am saying, you have all the energy in the world, I don't."
He would then walk away from her and have his arms to his back, he would look at her one last time before close his eyes.
"If you don't want me to continue the war effort and abandon the search for your father. Just give the word and I will stop. My journey will end here and I will go back to living on Earth. The last thing I want is to break your heart."
His crimes were so deep that if he gave her an entire list, it would be that of a dictionary. Too complicated and too much to handle.
"I'm sorry Amara... I am not a kind man and I won't pretend myself to you that I am. I believe that I am evil and no one will ever forgive me for the crimes I have done in this world. Its too late for me Amara, I am too far gone at this point."
He would finally turn to her once last time before smoking a cigarette to calm himself down. She had a choice, whether to accept Yangcong for who he was, or to abandon him entirely.
Amara sighed. Her eyes wandered the wasteland of her 'home', unsure of how exactly to respond to Yangcong's admission. She had known the man was involved in some morally questionable activities even during his time as a spy for her father, but all of this stacked atop his choice to actively pursue a life of constant crime? Sure it may not have been on the planter she was wholly concerned with, but just the gesture alone was enough to cause her pause. Was this the same Yangcong that Garrick had trusted, or had both her father's death and time taken heavy tolls on what was once a well-intentioned soldier? More important than reminiscing was judging him on current affairs. He had proven to at least be telling the truth when it came to uncovering the circumstances of Garrick's demise, and the money she had received while on Earth was of top veracity.
It was clear by his impassioned speech that Yangcong had both lost what was dear and taken what was dear from others. The man had lived in a cycle of it his entire career, and assassination missions seemed to only be the tip of the iceberg. His journey to Earth had been to find safety once Garrick had passed - understandable but it unfortunately led him right into the lap of powerful criminals. "As long as this group has no ideas about trying to conquer or corrupt Planet Plant... then I see no reason to shun you for what you've done at this moment." Her acceptance of Yangcong as an ally didn't mean she necessarily waved away all his wrongdoings, but Amara was desperate to end this war.
Amara was no saint. She had spilled the blood of others and would do so again if necessary. She had hired the very same crime syndicate Yangcong was involved with to assist in the war. Her political machinations were traitorous even from a more liberal view on the issue. "...I need your help and power more than I need to be the morality police at the moment. You know what they say, after all, desperate times call for desperate measures." Her only worry was that the man could backfire, go rogue for some unforeseen reason, but hopefully with his allegiance being mostly solid with the Snakes... Yangcong would not betray her. His boss was now her hired muscle after all. "I have a plan when it comes to the war. Would you like to hear it now?"
217She would mention the snakes group and he stood with confidence as he took a step forward.
"When we sign a contract to do something. The Dirty Snakes won't ever drop it. It's how we make money and have been loyal to our customers."
After she had spoke to him about the whole desperate times call for desperate measures, he would look at her and nodded in agreement.
"You are right, desperate times..."
Then she had stated a plan, this he was curious about. Was she tactical like her father? He indeed wondered and wanted to listen on what she had to say in the matter. But before she spoke, he would speak to her.
"With your plan in mind, I will also be recruiting a few people while on Earth. If I can get more allies to aid us for the better than I will do whatever it takes to get the job done. As far as help wise, I have founded the arcosian race on Planet Arcose and I do plan to bring one of their members into the circle."
He was talking about Lord Azoth and there last conversation which they had on Arcose, he truly believed that with the right words and the right situation, he could convince him to join the war.

Amara nodded, pausing for just a moment as she gathered the correct words to say. "I wish for an end to this conflict. An amicable end, mind you. Not a full domination victory for the Saiyans. I may not be particularly fond of the Tuffles on a cultural level but I see their technology, intelligence, and strong will to fight against a superior foe. What warrior culture could be justified in snuffing out brave combatants like that? A unity between our peoples is a far shot, I know. Even thinking about that as a possibility seems... whimsical at best. Yet I still find myself hoping that this senseless violence can end without exterminating bloodlines. Some Saiyans are bloodthirsty ruthless monsters, others are not. If I go now to claim my birthright as the heir of Bloodthrone I could shoulder military responsibility - and no matter who the next monarch is, they cannot so easily depose a noble on a whim.
In the same vein as my father, Garrick, I will 'fight' for the Saiyans in this war... but my goals are liable to be the opposite of the monarch's. I had a plan to hire your organization through Derry to come and fight in this conflict on behalf of the Tuffles. They would defend key cities and lay traps that I could 'unwittingly' send particularly aggressive or zealous Saiyans into... as unfortunate as that is. I know that I can't fight against my people, Yangcong, for several reasons. Least of which is my lack of power to do so entirely. I've no tail, no transformation, and any warrior with Oozaru could easily defeat me. That is why I chose this plan of attack. Other allies will have to flow through Tuffle means or yours I suppose, as risking any more connections on my end could risk tearing down the veneer I have built." She'd give the man some time to digest all of that before continuing onwards, staying silent and looking at him intently.
210Yangcong had listened to what she had to say and nodded a few times.
"In order to do this plan Amara, you have to understand that the people who killed your father is still out there. We don't know how big this goes. I don't know if this conceal individual is part of a bigger group or not. Without that, I fear that this group will strike again out our lowest point. When we try to conquer the capital, it may turn south quick.
Remember, this group was able to take out your father, the strongest man I knew. It doesn't take much to take down someone. The destron gas was able to kill my father and his entire platoon without the tuffles even engaging. I will help you however, no matter what. I also have a plan in mind. I have been working along side a saiyan known as Pitt. You can't miss him, he's big, dark skin and buff with a nasty scar. I will be pretending to work along side him. He trust me enough to where he won't go against me unless I did it first. He's currently one of the strongest saiyans I know and in my opinion, he could be gunning for the throne..."

"I know. That's the biggest catch right now. I've no reason to believe that - at large - a majority of the other nobles or our military would have reason to distrust me... well outside of a minor incident in a hamlet that I'll have to figure out. Still, if I can somehow quash these assassins and extremists in time for the war to pick up again it should, theoretically, be smooth sailing. How to do that is the hard part. We know there's a group out there that killed Garrick and now wishes to kill me. We know they're secretive, elusive, and not above using dirt tactics to win. We don't know who they are, who leads them, or any other information that would actually lead to a victory on my part." Amara paused to rub her head, thoughts racing as she tried to come up with some sort of plan. "I have hired a few experts to investigate everything surrounding this group, and hopefully, they'll have found some new information or leads to cross-reference with what we have. If not? I'm not sure how to proceed forward. Placing myself in my father's seat before this threat is dealt with would be immeasurably rash."
Yangcong had brought up a certain Saiyan that Amara, surprisingly, already knew. "Vocado's brother? They're still around on Plant?" She had somewhat friendly ties with the pair during her earlier years as a noble, though after the disgrace of the Bonewoods she hadn't see hide nor hair of them for many long years. To hear that at least Pitt had survived as now could possibly be a candidate for the throne was good news. "If he truly is going to be monarch that could end up beneficial given we've got a history together. Yet I wouldn't bank on that being the case. I've met other Saiyans that are also exceedingly powerful and will no doubt want to bring their zealotry against the Tuffles into a position of power where they can act upon it."
Yangcong had then stared back at Amara and wondered who this Vocado was.
"Pitt has a brother... I didn't even know that."
Another note, he was going to try to track down Vocado in order to find out how strong they were. If he is anything like Pitt, then perhaps we would be in trouble. He would look too Amara and nodded after what she had said.
"I have an upcoming meeting with the snakes. I would be meeting some of the new members that were stated. I will tell Derry in private about your plan and what you would like being done. I will also inform him of the situation that we are currently in. I may not be able to find information about it. But perhaps he would recognize anyone with that style of cloak perhaps. Perhaps this group wears these type of cloaks a lot. Hopefully we would be able to discover the information about them sooner than later and actually take down the threats so we can be that much closer to not worrying about the war effort as well. In a few weeks time, I will get into contact with you. I will keep you up to date with everything on our end."
"I suppose you could tell him, but know I also have plans to speak with Derry again myself. After I recover the necessary funds from my late father's coffers I will be able to go and pay the Snakes what they requested in order to take on this job. It was no small price, in fact hiring an army of mercenaries might've been cheaper." She laughed a dry laugh, continuing on. "After I'm done on Plant and return to Earth to pay the Snakes, I'll be training a bit more while I can. Possibly participating in the Budokai to test my mettle on a broader stage.
Once an enemy defeats me in the tournament - and trust me, someone will - I'll meet with my contact on Earth before moving to travel back to Plant. At that point, we'll either have uncovered the identity of this cabal or not, but either way, the risk of taking my birthright will proceed forth. I cannot hide away from assassins during an entire war no matter how dangerous it'd be to metaphorically stick my neck out." How droll. "Hopefully I can regain my tail again at some point in the near future. Having a transformation would help greatly during a bloody war of all things... but I have to assume that my power is stuck as is."
"Amara, I will do everything I can to end this war."
He would take a step away from her and finally looked back.
"I will make sure I am close by you when we start the fight. I will protect you with my life if I must."
About that time Niku would show up and whisper over to Yangcong. He nodded and looked back at Amara after whispering back to him.
"Niku here can look after you. I have somewhere to be. You can trust Niku, he learned a few spells from a demon that agreed to help him with a few trouble pest at the Saiba wasteland region. He could perhaps teach you a thing or two about combat as well. He's a better teacher than I ever was."
Niku would chuckle as he folded his arms across his chest. Yangcong had left the both of them behind and Niku looked too Amara with a sadden tone.
"Unfortunately we couldn't discover anything else about the man. he is completely knocked out and won't regain consciousness. I fear that he will soon die if I don't remove the spell."
The spell was a way to knock someone out in order to get them to speak the truth. Any longer and they would cease to exist and die in their sleep.

Bygone days were the ones in which Amara was a young girl training at her father's estate in the inner walls of Sadala. So much had happened in the last decade alone that had permanently sculpted both Amara and the general political landscape of the entire nobility and planet - and not for the better. Yangcong and Amara were not the first ones to declare they'd end the ongoing generational war. Hopefully they'd be the last but that chance was up to their wills and the whims of lady luck. Wars were complex things and even after military skirmishes ended there would undoubtedly be resentment and hostilities between the two factions assuming both continued to live on Plant. "Niku, huh."
She'd never heard the man's name in any circles until now, though through Yangcong's explanation it was claimed that he was a strong fighter and one to deal with demons. Amara herself stayed far away from the mystical side of the universe, a mix of fear and suspicion keeping it at bay. "I'll definitely keep you in mind if there's an emergency in the nearby area, but I can't spend much more time here. There's a lot more work to be done before I can return to Earth, after all." And since all information they'd get had already been extracted from Matillo, there wasn't much more to be done. "I'll see you later." And with that, she left.
