The Assault On Capital City Part 02 -

Sadala was a rowdy place. It wasn't uncommon to see less ambitious Saiyans sprawled out on the red cobbled streets, unconscious from booze, fighting, or usually a combination of the two. Centuries of this culture meant most jobbers knew how to keep it in line and so the guards and military elected to ignore the merriment and revelry, but sometimes things got out of hand. Corra and Celari were the first on call to a nearby overly violent bar fight, the owner of the establishment hitting a panic button installed for just such emergencies. 

The twins soared across the skies of Sadala at a modest pace, the waning sun casting rays of red light throughout the city in disarrayed streams. Everything seemed normal up until they landed outside, the window shattered and concerning amounts of blood pooling from the nearby bodies. Corra scowled, her scouter confirming these were bodies and not just unconscious idiots. Celari spared her sister a glance before barging into the bar, spitting naught but a lone man seated and drinking. 

"You have some explaining to do, tough guy." Celari glared daggers at his back. "Get your kicks off wiping out drunk laymen? Try somebody on your own size."

The name gave them pause, both twins shifting as they eyed the man up. Last they heard Yangcong had been vanquished on Namek almost a year ago, but if Lottus could come back from death...

Both sisters shared a glance, nodding. If this guy was really Yangcong or someone even impersonating the maniac for some reason, they'd need to go all out from the start. 

Celari's hair immediately spiked, retaining its black color as her eyes took on a brilliant golden color and controlled rage pumped through her veins.

A lesser golden aura erupted around Corra, the force of it rippling through her hair and tinting the Saiyan in the same false gold. 

"Tch! You should know then that in a meritocracy we don't let the purposeless murder of several Saiyans, weak or not, slide!" Celari spat out, taking a fighting stance. 

"And we've already alerted the Queen to your presence here!" Corra bluffed, crossing her arms and smirking. "Why don't you run off before you get beat back to the afterlife!?" 

Corra blinked, shattering the thrown bottle with a slap on instinct as the pair fell under attack! Her wrathful sister was suddenly afflicted by a strange surge of magic, Corra angrily shouting: "CELARI!" Before charging in to defend her. 

Of course even with a flared aura and mass rage, Corra was quickly overwhelmed - barely tanking the dampened kick and being left wide open for Yakone's hook! The punch sends the shorter girl flying back through the bar, crashing through tables and bottles to land in a pile of alcohol, blood, and glass. 

Celari glared at her attacker even while weakened by his magic, grappled and crushed momentarily with enough force to force a yelp from the Saiyan. "Let... GO!" Yakone would find his face met with a razor ball of purple energy as Celari swung her arm around, the ball exploding into a ray as she broke free of his grasp and gasped in pain.

Corra followed up, pissed and soaked in undesirable fluid as she launched a Galick Shredder of her own at the ghost!

"Quicker than you, I'd bet!" Corra snapped back, brushing stray shards of glass from her armor. The initial assault left her battered and cut, Celari not faring any better. It was satisfying to see her sister's shredder land and break a piece of that stupid mask off, though seeing the guy PHASE through hers!? "Damn it... you really are Yangcong, aren't you?" Her eyes narrowed dangerously, tail swishing as Corra stepped to the side carefully over a dead kinsman. "But coming back as a ghost made you weaker than you should be, didn't it?"

"Did he just pun at us?" Celari groaned, rolling to her feet and massaging where she'd been grabbed. "Tch. Shows what you know! You wouldn't be able to sense Zuqetta coming even if you wanted to thanks to her new technique. I give it five minutes before she shows up and kicks your spectral ass back to Hell!" 

When the dual beams were fired each twin held their ground, power surging into their forearms as they blocked the brunt of the power. It was at least a good sign that his initial assault had drained as much of his energy as it had theirs! "What are you hoping to accomplish here anyway?!"

Without his mask it became clear that this wasn't Yangcong - at least not his original look. Yakone quickly declared himself as the master mind's son, seeking revenge on behalf of his dead father. 

"Revenge...?" Corra's expression soured. "You're a ghost now, couldn't you have stayed dead with your dad?!" It was hard to tell if Yakone was speaking from remorse or arrogance when he claimed that Namek would've ended differently with him around. Unless he was toying with them, his power wasn't enough to even match a single Super Saiyan. Tulse may not have survived, but Zuqetta, Gira, and Ticoga would have decimated them.

Each sister took the opportunity to catch their breath, aware that Yakone outclassed them by a fair margin. The longer he kept talking the more likely it was that some sort of golden haired backup would arrive. 

"You're offering a chance to betray the Queen...?" Celari said incredulously, brow furrowing. 

Corra's gaze hardened, the Saiyan mulling it over. "And just what is the orchestra?" She demanded. "You can't expect us to risk our necks turning against Super Saiyans in the Kingdom without some reassurance that this group of yours can handle them."

Indeed, with Lottus, Zuqetta, Jagaimo, and Zuci alone, the power of the Kingdom rivaled or surpassed the defenders of all known planets!

Aw man. Anything but magic. The twins could hardly tell if Yakone was just blowing smoke or the assertive claim that Yangcong's delve in ancient demon seeds or something was an actual danger capable of toppling the current status quo. He had skirted by explaining just what the Orchestra was, either purposefully ignoring the question or opting to not to reveal his full hand, but the sisters came to the same conclusion that it must be Yangcong's secret support group. One man alone couldn't hope to succeed in lofty ambitions. 

"Let's say... I'm interested in what you're offering," Corra began neutrally, tail swishing. "You've been having trouble infiltrating the Kingdom haven't you? Zuqetta has made all sorts of effort to root Yangcong out, and I suspect you'll be next. If we were to join we could stay undercover as a sort of double agent."

"Of course," Celari butt in. "That's assuming you're telling the truth about how powerful your father and his associates are! Take us to meet them and promise our safety and we'll join you." The Saiyans paused, waiting to see if Yakone was simply stalling or if he was truly extending an olive branch to them for his secret organization.

"We can do that," Corra said firmly. "As trusted elites we're allowed to leave Plant whenever we want, no questions asked. We've visited Earth before, too, so it wouldn't be suspicious for us to go again."

Of course they'd have to ditch their kingdom scouters - and likely not bring any form of electronic or communicator lest Yakone or his conspirators think they were possible moles. It was a huge potential risk to wander into a viper's nest without the foggiest idea of how powerful anyone was, but the opportunity to see for themselves was too much to pass up.

"Heh. I figured Yangcong wanted Plant for himself. Is it true? That we could have it if we helped him?" Celari asked, arms crossed. "We never did like Zuqetta or that Earthling stain of a girlfriend she has. All those fantastical ideas came from HER, I'd wager. She might've done a fine job fostering a peace with the Tuffles, but the plans to terraform Plant? Disastrous."

They'd nod to each other and power down as a sign of trust. "Alright then. We have a deal. We'll meet you on Earth. Where do we go to find you or your associates once we get there?" Asked Corra.

"Very well." They said in sync.

"I'll make sure to purchase a new scouter on Earth so our military issued ones don't get tracked," Corra said, nodding as she made a mental note of Yakone's frequency. "Easy enough."

"I'll put in a notice of leave. That'll give Corra and I roughly a week on planet before we start overstaying our welcome. That should be ample time to get familiar with this whole operation." Celari added. 

They followed Yakone out the door, pointedly ignoring the corpses or Saiyans and pools of blood as he unveiled a pod. "We have our own multi seat starship we'll take. It will be less suspicious if we use it instead of getting rental pods. We'll move to go to Earth as soon as the notice is filed and our ship is warmed up." Explained the shorter Saiyan. 

They'd wait till Yakone had left the atmosphere before talking among themselves: "I hate to leave these poor dead sods without justice, but that fight was turning sour and this is a bigger opportunity." Celari grumbled, staring up at the sky. 

"I know," Corra replied quietly. "We need to see if this Orchestra truly is such a powerful organization or just smoke and mirrors."
