Subject Identification: Series 0 Xenoweapon #137 – “Project Perfection”
Subject Codename: Exogen
Lead Scientist: Doctor Maximillian Warburg
Subject Description: Exogen stands three to four feet taller than the average Earthling, with a large, protruding cranium that arcs backward. Subject’s leg and ankle joints are of a digitigrade structure, but the subject is capable of standing in a bipedal and quadrupedal stance for either intimidation or hunting respectively. Hands are similar in structure to the base species, but the fingers each contain six joints to allow for complete freedom of movement, as opposed to the normal three joints that are normally found in the hands of other humanoid species. Subject’s jaw and teeth are similar to an Earthling or a Konatsian, the latter of which served as the gestation vessel for the subject.
Arcosian DNA has granted the subject a tail, but further engineering has tipped this long appendage with a bladed spike capable of easily piercing armor and flesh, and the tail can be whipped with enough velocity to easily decapitate or bisect a fully grown human.
Within the mouth is a retractable “inner mouth” of sorts, which is capable of protruding at least a foot and a half beyond the subject’s teeth. This mouth has teeth of its own, and is capable of extending with enough force and velocity to completely crush a human skull. Subject’s eyes are protected by a natural shielding structure that extends from where the nose would be, all the way up to the top of the cranium. The structure appears to be made of some sort of semi-translucent chitin, which allows for protection with no detriment to the subject’s vision. Subject is capable of normal vision like its progenitor, but is also capable of seeing in complete darkness as though it were the middle of the day, as well as the infrared spectrum. Preliminary tests also suggest that the subject has some form of X-ray vision.
Other senses have also been shown to be enhanced far beyond levels that are considered normal for the base species. Subject hearing extends into the 600,000+ Hz range, about thirty times more sensitive than the hearing of a human. Despite the lack of a nose, the subject is capable of identifying scents through the skin, and their sense of smell is comparable to a great white shark… perhaps even greater.
Subject’s skin is coated in an extremely thin and flexible, yet strong exoskeleton, which allows for it to endure considerable punishment without injury to the subject itself. However, if an injury is sustained, the subject has one final line of defense; its blood, which is made up of an extremely corrosive acid capable of melting through human flesh and bone. Beyond these qualities, subject has also been shown to not require food, water, or air, and has proven itself to be an extremely skilled swimmer and sprinter, clocking in at around mach two on land and in water when allowed to build up to full speed.
It is extremely important that the subject remain contained in its containment chamber. In the unlikely event that the subject escapes, DO NOT ENGAGE. Escape through the designated emergency exits if possible. If this is not possible, hide in the nearest area out of the subject’s view, preferably with at least three inches of lead separating you from it. Keep your breathing shallow and most importantly, KEEP CALM. The subject is engineered to be a skilled, ruthless hunter. You cannot reason with it and it will show you no mercy. Your only hope of survival is to be as unnoticeable as possible.
Subject Audio Log #001: Birth
Doctor Max: This is Doctor Maximillian Warburg of the Gevo–Warburg Corporation. With me is Doctor Gevo and Lab Assistant Klaus Stranberg. Two days ago, we implanted the embryo of the Series 0 Xenoweapon, codenamed Exogen, within a suitable host; a young Konatsian woman, aged twenty-six years. She has been sedated to prevent her from damaging herself or the embryo. If my research is correct, and I do believe it is, then the creature will take on the characteristics of its host. Only time will tell. This will be our one hundred thirty-seventh attempt. I am a man of science, but I find myself praying that it will work this time. Too many potential hosts have been lost, and it is getting increasingly more difficult to find replacements while keeping under the radar of the law.
(Incredibly loud thumping and thrashing is heard over the audio recording, followed by a female groaning)
Doctor Gevo: Max! Max! Over here, quickly! It’s starting! By god, it’s beautiful!
(The feminine groaning begins to grow more desperate, eventually morphing into a bloodcurdling scream as the thrashing steadily increases in volume. Eventually, a wet crunch and squelching is heard, the thrashing ceasing shortly thereafter. In its place, there is a high-pitched, inhuman shriek)
Doctor Max: Kami… it’s perfect. Klaus, bring the specimen holding container! We don’t have much time!
(Recording abruptly cuts out, then ends)
Subject Audio Log #002: Emergency Log
(Audio device begins recording in response to a declared emergency, unbeknownst to anyone)
Lab Assistant Klaus: Dammit dammit dammit! It wasn’t supposed to be that damn invincible!
(Unknown Female): How could this happen!? The inner doors were supposed to be closed!
Klaus: Dammit, I don’t know! Someone must have opened them without authorization!
(Unknown Female): But who!? You and Doctor Max are the only ones with the access codes!
Klaus: Don’t look at me like that! Why in the hell would I want to do this to myself!? It had to be… Doctor Max. (long pause lasts for approximately six seconds) Oh… I see your game now, doctor. This is just another one of your experiments, huh? I should have known better than to trust you. Now we’re all dead!
(A sudden metallic banging is heard over the recording)
(Unknown Female): Klaus… quiet… it’s here! We have to hide!
(All voices on the recording cease, the only sound being a distant emergency alarm and indistinct instructions playing over the intercom. Eventually, however, a low hiss is heard on the recording, followed by heavy footfalls. Unknown Female begins to whimper, which causes the source of the hiss to let out a low growl)
Unknown Female: No…! No, please! I haven’t done anything to yo–
(Unknown Female’s voice devolves into an agonized, gurgling scream as the creature roars. A loud crash is heard on the recording, presumably the result of the creature throwing the body)
Klaus: Exogen… you remember me, don’t you? Klaus? I… I helped raise you these past three years. I… I gave you chocolate. Remember how much you like chocolate?
(The creature lets out a contemplative clicking noise at the Lab Assistant’s pleas)
Klaus: That’s it… we’re friends, you and I. You don’t have to go back into that cell if you don’t want to. Here, let me get that collar off so you can get more comfortable.
(After a couple seconds of silence as Klaus presumably approaches, the creature lets out a shrieking roar as Klaus screams)
Klaus: No! No, stop! Exogen, please! I was good to you! I was good to–
(A wet crunch is heard, silencing Klaus’s screams. The only noise heard after this is the sound of the alarms and the intercom before the creature begins to make hissing and clicking noises. The audio recording ends there)

KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: None
Heavy Sparking Technique || Tail Impalement
Exogen lashes out with his tail, attempting to impale the target on the barbed end of the appendage and cause heavy bleeding.
Power: 90%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Bleed, Bleed+
Utility Technique || Hunter’s Instincts
Exogen has an extremely heightened sense of hearing, and smell, and is capable of seeing in complete darkness and the infrared spectrum. This allows him to track down almost anyone with ease unless they are using antisense. Additionally, he can see through walls with X-Ray vision. A sheet of lead at least three inches thick blocks this X-Ray vision, however. His heightened instincts also allow him to detect the mood and intention of his quarry, as well as gauge their overall battle power. OOC permission is required to detect mood and intent.
Utility Technique || Corrosive Blood
Exogen’s blood is an extremely corrosive acid capable of easily eating through metal and dissolving flesh and bone. This makes damaging him with certain kinds of weapons quite dangerous.
