Well, it had to happen one day or another, didn't it ?
Regal Citadel is the center of the Arcosian Empire, the pinacle of their influence, and the seat of its might. It has been this way for thousands of years, but now that the seat had been vacant for a few months at most, factions arose from across the planet to try and fill that power gap before the vacum sucked in any straggler and Arcose end up under the reign of some politician, barely more competent than average, who would crash the empire into a dark age on his own.
But of course, Arcose itself was not the only part of the Arcosian Empire, and some of these other world, species and such, wanted out of this whole affair. What way to better assure the shattering and scattering of a system than blowing up the seat of its power, forcing it to turn its attention on its core world and letting go of the leash? Well, apparently, this is the idea that some people out there had, and it all began on a normal day, for the period that is.
During the open hours of the Citadel, where many people came and went into the building, suddenly, mass hysteria started as an EMP detonated within the area, shutting down automated security, cameras and the lights. Following the detonation, the building went into lockdown, and access in and out was prohibited, as there were words that an armed group had taken some hostage somewhere in the building.
Everyone was shocked at first, seemingly, a group of alien from one of the empire's colonies had come her and managed to get access to the building. This kind of blow would be remembered for a long time, so things needed to be figured out quickly.
Amongst the people inside the building, there was Azoth. He had been to the citadel to rally some people to his cause when the whole event started. Quickly enough, he understood the situation, and would send a message to everyone in the building using his telepathy, a thing he had not used since training with his teamates back in Imperial Guard Tactic Class.
Everyone in here who has the power to fight back, I , Lord Azoth, ask for your support, regardless of your allegiance. Make your presence known if you can, fight back if you must. We need to try and regroup.
Of course, shortly after he said that, alien troops composed of mercenary groups, would begin to search the rooms and take more hostages.
