Guru's forest; known for being one of the most peaceful regions of all Namek. Shakuhachi had not found himself lost in the lush scenery of the land for well over a decade and as he approached the path he found himself hesitant. He could feel the air impact harder and harder as he got closer as if it was politely informing him that he was not welcome to enter. The traditional Ajisa trees here were at their most beautiful; still untouched by the foreign crops which were becoming increasingly more common in other parts of the planet.
While the trees held great beauty, the size and thickness of them could also be intimidating. When Shakuhachi gazed into them he felt like he was sucked into something he could never leave. They were so compact that it was impossible to see beyond a few meters ahead of you at any one time. Shakuhachi could remember taking a trip to the region when he was younger; how intimidated he felt. He thought as he got older things would change but here he stood still a scared little boy when faced with the unique power the Namekian nature held.
But he also remembered that once you break through the outside there was a powerful calm waiting within. An oasis of sorts where things became relaxed and the various creatures of Namek could find a home. An entire ecosystem thrived on the inside, untouched by some of the harsher conditions the outside held. Of course you had the usual birds and rodents which made up the majority of the inhabitants, but even the predators acted differently. The dinosaurs, the large mammals; in here they took only what they need compared to those on the outside.
It was as if the spirit of the greatest Guru himself soothed their warrior spirits and urged them to make a peaceful existence with one another. That was what this land meant to the people of Namek; to most it represented what the whole planet should be. Some among the Namekians even believed the land to be especially sacred; so much so that the Namekian people should be barred entry so that it could be only enjoyed by the planet itself. Of course that had not come to pass however, to which some Namekians had no problem taking advantage of.
Some hostile Namekians, whether they be from the Mazoku clan or otherwise would occasionally use the holy ground to plot their schemes or just to hide away from the outside. Though it be a great insult to the Namekian people there was very little anyone could do about it. Once Shakuhachi made it through the entrance and into the peaceful center he thankfully encountered no such criminals. He did a see a few Namekians however; a small family swimming in a lake as well as an artisan crafting small figures made from wood.
They seemed like nice enough people. The Dragon Clansmen nodded over to the both of them, to which he got mixed replies. Since returning from captivity he had been through a few incidents and was not the unknown figure he used to be. Some of the things he had said and done and ruffled a few feathers so he wasn't surprised that a few of the Nameks thought he to be a poor influence. To him that didn't matter though; he had ideas and he was going to do everything he could to see them through. He would carry those that stood beside him and leave behind the rest.
He had a small number of things on the agenda that he wanted to see to today. The first two could be taken care of in one easy action: a bath. At this point he didn't really have a place he could call him. He purchased a vessel from an off worlder which featured a cleaning facility but the cold, metallic environment created a foul feeling deep inside of him, like he was somehow betraying his ways. He knew that such devices were necessary, and would only become more necessary as time went on. But now he had the time and opportunity to do things the right way.
The second was recovery. He had been in a few scuffles at this point and though he hadn't suffered any serious damage the small wounds began to pile up and take their toll. The waters of the Ajisa region were known for both their relaxation and healing properties; both of which Shakuhachi needed right now. He approached the large lake on the opposite side of the family he noted earlier and removed the battle Gi he had been wearing. Then, he placed his legs in the pond first to test the waters; they had been warmed to just the right temperature for his liking.
He finally sat down into the lake and submerged his entire body, save for his head. This water; it was like a direct connection to Namek. But it was more than that. All of the Gurus in history; the ones we knew and even the ones before that had come to these waters to meditate. And while Shakuhachi lay among those waters it's like all of their energies could be felt. The history of Namek could be found in its entirety here and Shakuhachi took it all in. But this wasn't just about them; it was about him as well.
He knew that when coming back he wasn't going to make any friends; not easily at least. Some of the things he said were rash; they stung and maybe at times he had been a bit out of line. Perhaps at times he had allowed his emotions to get the better of him, but he couldn't say that anything he said was a lie. Deep down he knew that once people looked past the superficial layer they would be able to see exactly what he meant. Changing the perspective of a people who have lived such a way for so long was no easy task, but he was determined.
After sufficiently relaxing in the water for what felt like a few minutes Shakuhachi left and put back on his Gi. Both the family and the artisan were now gone; he may have spent longer in the water than he had though. It was hard to keep track of time while in such a relaxed state after all. Now the only thing left on his mind was meditation. Shakuhachi found one of the smaller trees with just enough shade to cover him and took a seat. He crossed his arms and legs and breathed deeply as he focused on his connection to the planet.
Just as he was in the water he felt the special powers this land held. Being away for so long he feared that his connection to the life of Namek itself had begun to weak but being here again he knew that wasn't true. But maybe it would be. Maybe his ideas for Namek would turn the planet itself against him. It's something you take for granted; you don't even notice it until it's gone. If that was the destiny he was preparing for then he'd just have to convince the planet of his good intentions as well.
