Simple Saiyan Russ

Zuqetta recoiled a bit, a shutter reaching her hands, hopefully unnoticed as she took to quickly composing herself. It was as she thought, the wound coming from not only the weapon she imagined, but the very person himself, Blizzard. A fluctuation in her mana would reverberate through Russ, before stabilizing once more. She took a long drawn breath, she was trying to work with Russ here, she couldn't allow her concentration to waver from emotion. The conversation at hand would unwittingly become a form of training for the both of them now, as Zuqetta listen and then began to respond in kind herself to what was said.

"Blizzard-" she'd speak lowly at first, her finger twitching, applying a small pressure to Russ' back, "I'm sorry... you dealt with that."

There was an uncertainty in her tone; she would pause, taking a long breath through her nose and adjusting her mana output. The continuous flow of magic she'd been applying to Russ would stabilize, and she would begin to speak again more clearly.

"Blizzard, he was... like a father to me." she'd admit, a clear reluctance at the mention, "He'd taken me in when I had no where else to go. Taught me the manners of a noble, something my real father certainly never taught." she'd bite, her expression rather aggressive but luckily hidden behind Russ, "He taught me a lot, even how to use a sword." she'd continue, her gaze shifting back to the scars on Russ' back, "But... it was all a lie, heh, as if that wasn't obvious."

She sighed, but managed to keep the flow of mana into Russ constant, choosing to prioritize his training rather than succumb to her emotions. She wouldn't press as to whatever this Lookout was, nor who Jackie was. It sounded convenient, a tower acting as a central stronghold for the guardians of their world, however it also sounded like it made the perfect target for Blizzards assault. Zuqetta felt like inquiring more, but chose instead to spare Russ from reliving the memories.

"I might've said he was like a father, but that doesn't mean I care at all for him." Zuqetta would suddenly speak up, her tone firm as if trying to clarify her intent to Russ, "If anything, he was like my real father, so that's the only reason... someone terrible who uses you for their own gain..."

Her brow furrowed thinking of it all, a small fluctuation in her flow of mana as a result of her steadily building emotions. Should Russ have been adapting well to the training, he'd have likely sensed it, otherwise the only indicator of Zuqetta's souring mood would be her tone and the added pressure she was placing on his back. Though while it seemed at first as though her anger would only build further, she would suddenly release a breath and with it, her tension and aggression.

She would slump forward, her forehead smacking against Russ' back as she ceased the flow of mana.

"Ugh, listen ta me? Makin' things all heavy and awkward... sorry, I didn't mean ta suddenly vent." she'd apologize, using this brief moment to rest, "What you went through... it shoulda never happened. If I'd been there, maybe--" she'd shake her head lightly, "No, I doubt I'd have been much help... I dunno."

A lull in the conversation, Zuqetta became lost for words, unsure of what to say next. Her feelings on Blizzard were too complicated, making her feel as though anything else she would say would simply be venting. Yet beyond talk of her former instructor, she could only apologize for what he'd done, as if she was somehow at fault, yet she held no involvement in the least. Still resting her head against Russ' back, her gaze shifted a final time to the long scar proudly displayed, her expression regretful, a slight wince, before she'd finally say what was on her mind.

"I wish... you hadn't gotten hurt..."
