"I prefer that my subjects become mine willingly. Comfort. Safety. Belonging. Provide those shackles, and they'll wear them with pride."
Hayle is the current head of the Zumat family, an old Arcosian mercantile family which has extensive connections in commodities trading, luxury goods, consumer electronics and so forth. Zumat’s position has long been a tenuous one within the Arcosian Empire, as they have been around long enough to acquire an extensive history of grudges and enemies.
She was originally born to be an expendable soldier for her Father. However, a keen mind for logistics, a stubborn refusal to die and a talent for combat have seen her able to hold the Family together through the death of the old Patriarch and into this modern era of instability and opportunity.
Whilst Hayle is good at fighting, it isn’t something she has much of a taste for. She prefers her subjects to enslave themselves with chains of zeni and obligation. Zumat under her leadership has therefore stayed relatively arms-length to the planetary trade organisation (though there are still obligations to the Empire that she has to fulfil) and does not have many holdings in the world of arms trading and mercenaries.
The Family is not as unified as she would like, however. It is a large group, including her own sons and daughters, operating on a strict model where overall authority is always traced back to a member of the Family – the vast majority of whom are naturally Arcosian. There are always rumblings about her leadership. Threats from within and from without seeking to bring Zumat down, and the worsening state of the wider galactic community fills her with fear for the future.
TECHNIQUES
Light Offensive Technique || Natural Cruelty|| Starting Tech
Hayle’s form of standard martial arts, utilising her tail and horns as well as hands, feet, knees and elbows. She tends to favour hard strikes to soft areas.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: None
Medium Offensive Technique || Sadistic Impulse || Starting Tech
A focused pulse of bright purple energy that is unleashed from an outstretched hand. It is deliberately dispersed; meaning that whilst powerful it aims to flense the target rather than punch through them.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP

Medium Offensive Technique || Crushing Dance || 40k Slot
Combining graceful movements and shocking violence, Hayle empowers her blows with bright purple ki in order to deliver a series of potent strikes to her opponent.
Power: 70%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: None
Heavy Offensive Technique || Know Your Place, Worm!|| Starting Tech
Used when Hayle has lost her temper. This assault is a brutal series of strikes which finish with an attempt to throw the opponent to the floor and then blast them with her full power. She usually shouts the attack name.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: None
Light Defensive Technique || Contemptuous Dodge|| 10K Slot
Hayle uses the bare minimum effort required to dodge.

.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Sustained
Heavy Defensive Technique || Such Pointless Struggle|| 30K Slot
Hayle focuses her full power into defence – usually doing her best to utterly crush an energy attack to nothing with her bare hands or otherwise demonstrate her ‘insurmountable’ power. If it actually works she is left invigorated.
Power: 80%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Taunt
Heavy Offensive Sparking Technique || Hayle Storm|| Starter Tech
Gathering her power, Hayle glows bright blue before releasing a veritable storm of ki blasts at her opponents. One unfortunate soul is usually dedicated as the primary target but only those she spares can avoid all danger – and then, it’s difficult for her to exert massive control over this. She uses some of the energy to empower her bio-armour so she isn’t left entirely defenceless in the aftermath.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Quake+, Back-up Plan
Utility Technique: Flight - Starter Tech
Utility Technique: Ki Suppression - Starter Tech
Technique Type: Support (Guidebook 1)
Technique Name: Closed Minded
Description: Between a combination of her own willpower, her natural paranoia, and certain mental training exercises passed down through the Zumat family, Hayle's mind is a locked and barred fortress. Attempts to read, control or corrupt her mind will almost always simply fail unless attempted by a being of far greater power. Unfortunately this does also mean she can't be contacted via telepathy.
Technique Type: Support (Guidebook 2)
Technique Name: Counteroffer
Description: Building on the mental exercises of her family, if a being of equal or lesser power (within 80% or less) than Hayle attempts to influence her mind then instead of merely resisting it she can attempt to turn the effect back on its originator. This requires consent as usual and she cannot significantly change the parameters of the technique excepting that the target and 'controller' (if appropriate) are reversed so that she is the one issuing commands, as it should be.
