Saizomaru smirked a little with a half-amused hum. ”Well, there goes my thought of you flying around in a wheelchair,” he joked as he glanced forwards. Bob had come back with another serving of Purple Rain, placing it on the counter in front of the android. ”Cheers, Bob.” He pulled the tumbler towards him before lifting it off the counter, taking a small sip of it. Fruity flavours were the best flavours, he though with adamance.
It was still strange to him that he enjoyed food and drink still, yet wasn’t required to survive. He pondered if the girl beside him was aware of such technological engineering. She admitted she had experience and skill, though he didn’t want to push too far into the subject—self-consciousness of one’s own roboticization stopped him from doing so.
”Always good to get naps in where you can,” he replied before taking another swig of his beverage. He placed the glass down gently on the counter, fingers wrapped lightly with the index finger tapping the body slightly. ”It’s weird, y’know—always feeling awake and energized, never needing to rest or feeling fatigue. Guess that’s another perk of being an android.”
It had come to the point that he hadn’t even the ability to remember what sleep was like. In service he barely got more than five hours sleep for almost twenty years straight. When he did sleep, it was dreamless. He couldn’t even remember how he fell asleep or when he would wake up. Nowadays, he was awake twenty-four-seven. Strange yet familiar for him.
His thoughts were broken when the man had begun to tell of his own life on Planet Plant, a place that Saizomaru had not heard about before. He assumed it was the home of the saiyans given the man’s allegiances and professional resumé. ”I doubt you’ll find much work here on Earth,” he proclaimed. ”S’not exactly a war-torn place like it is where you’re from. Still, y’never know.” He took another sip of his drink.
As the man stood up from his seat, Saizomaru’s eyes trailed along. They were taking their leave, with the android only raising his glass in silence to gesture him a good day. Then, his eyes shifted back to the table. No bill, no tip. The android let out a sigh. ”Well… Guess I’m paying.”
One had left, one remained. He turned to look at Alva from the corner of his eyes and gave a smile. ”Saizomaru,” he introduced. ”Friends call me Sai. So you can call me Sai from now on. It’s your pleasure to meet me.” The last part was a joke, a reversal of words. He wondered if she’d pick up on it.
He paused for a moment as he drank from the glass. ”Strange old war vet had dipped. You gonna be doing the same or are you gonna hang around for a while?”
