CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Now, while Daucus and Lycia were loving parents, thoroughly protective of their newborn baby boy, similar could hardly be said of Daucus’ Saiyan side of the family aside from his own parents; Ziki and Habana and others of the Bloodmarrow. The wider house that the Bloodmarrow happened to be a part of— the Marrowbreaker house— was, to put it lightly, filled with violent egotistical brutes who would usually relish the chance to cause problems for anyone they deemed weaker. Fortunately, this demeanor and behavior wasn’t often physically directed at Nero as he was still ‘part of the family’ in a sense, but many of the Marrowbreakers often verbally abused his parents for one reason or another. They simply assumed that the boy, even as he grew up and became a toddler wasn’t listening or simply couldn’t hear them as they whispered mean things about his parents and snickered whenever they were around the Bloodmarrow estate... This could not be further from the truth. Nero had always been listening, and for reasons he didn’t fully understand, he could easily hear these insulting whispers; often being moved to tears as soon as he was with his parents in the privacy of their home quarters.
Of course, Daucus and Lycia could not let this slide; not after seeing how it impacted on their sweet little Nero. They were going to stand up to the other Saiyans of the Marrowbreaker house; but they wouldn’t do so unprepared; they had allies in other houses willing to lend a hand; namely Garrick of the Bloodthorne house; one they could trust to keep their boy safe should anything go awry.
And go awry it did. There was an altercation that resulted in Daucus, Lycia, Ziki, Habana and several of the kinder Bloodmarrow house members that were present being collectively exiled and banished from the planet, forced to leave by the others using Nero’s life as a bargaining chip. This didn’t go as expected however, as Nero in a fit of rage unexpectedly let out an explosive burst of power, catching those that brought him to such an emotional breaking point very much off guard, causing many of them to be knocked unconscious or otherwise injured and incapacitated. Nero took the chance and ran, eventually coming into the protection of Garrick, briefly meeting the man’s daughter Amara and some others before it was deemed necessary that he was to be sent off world for his own safety. Unfortunately it was unknown where exactly the banished members of Nero’s family were sent, so Garrick had to go with the next best option...
Sending the boy to planet Namek. The reasoning for this was quite simple; Daucus and Lycia had mentioned to Garrick that since Nero was of Garouan descent, it was quite possible a lot of his potential would be more easily brought out in a spiritual environment— something Namek was known for. So, after Nero had calmed down enough, Garrick made preparations to send the boy there in secret for his own safety. Of course, he was banking on the idea that Nero would be lucky enough that strangers would show him kindness, but it was far better than suffering on a planet at war that showed him anything but kindness.
It was a gamble, but a necessary one— one that Garrick wouldn’t be around to know that it had paid off... Nero landed on Namek somewhere in the Maima Fields, a shy and reserved little boy; unsure of how to approach this strange, scary and somewhat exciting new situation he found himself in. His Saiyan pride to survive and his Garouan instinct to explore eventually won over this anxiety, so Nero moved away from the security of the now useless space pod that brought him there, only to be greeted by the kind and welcoming face of a curious blue Namekian; a space-faring adventurer by the name of Zukha, who was only back on Namek by pure chance!
Their demeanor reminded Nero of his mother, so he felt at ease, and Zukha soon became the second motherly figure in his life— the one that would now end up raising him, giving him the spiritual training, discipline and environment that Nero needed in order to grow into his full potential. From a meek little boy, Nero quickly grew into a confident young man, finding himself joined in this found family by two younger brothers; Pankaa and Chime— Nero took to the responsibility of being the eldest of three brothers like a duck to water, he would be protective, caring and most of all; encouraging, being there whenever they needed him.
Every now and then, Zukha would take the boys out into space to show them new and interesting things, and after the three were old enough, they were allowed to travel as a group provided they would return to Namek every now and then. Most recently, the trio had gone to Earth as a change of pace, for some reason, Nero at least found himself strangely drawn to that region of space and was keen to stay there for a bit longer than a visit of just a couple months... That would have to wait a while, as the group returned to Namek once more...

BACKGROUND:
Nero was born a hybrid, a child of two worlds; the son of Daucus Bloodmarrow, his Saiyan father, and Lycia O’howle, his Garouan mother. Luckily for Nero, Daucus and Lycia were not the cruel and heartless sort; it was in fact Daucus’s kindness and hospitality during an expedition out into space that endeared him to Lycia who had little in the way of positive views on Saiyans otherwise what with being unlucky to often run into the more gruff and thoughtless of the lot. Daucus was different enough from them that Lycia eventually decided to stay with him, going so far as to one day go with him back to Planet Plant; and there they would have Nero, who would be given the last name Howlmarrow; a mix of his parent’s last names, as per tradition from his mother’s Garouan culture.
Now, while Daucus and Lycia were loving parents, thoroughly protective of their newborn baby boy, similar could hardly be said of Daucus’ Saiyan side of the family aside from his own parents; Ziki and Habana and others of the Bloodmarrow. COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
|| Offense || Light || Swift Masenko
Nero makes the motion of holding both hands palms facing out towards a given target, with one hand in front of the other with the fingers going in opposite directions, collecting a small charge of energy. This is fired quite quickly as a blue energy beam, and doesn't require much effort to do.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: N/A
|| Defense || Medium || Shield Masenko
Nero places both hands above his head with his palms facing the target and one hand in front of the other with the fingers going in opposite directions, where he charges up energy. Visibly identical to other variations of the Masenko in practice, the difference comes in how it ends up being fired. In this case, Nero 'crushes' the collected energy in his hands and unleashes a laser net as a form of barrier rather than an attack.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Shield
|| Offense || Medium || Waning Crescent Combo
Coating his body in a thin layer of light blue Ki barely perceptible to the untrained eye, Nero attempts to rush down an opponent with elegant, graceful and oddly unpredictable movements that leave behind a trail of light blue crescent arcs— If the technique is used properly and causes enough damage to his opponent, the trail left behind can guide an ally of Nero's choosing into a better angle of attack.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Inspiring
|| Offense || Heavy Sparking || Wild Howling Whirlwind
Collecting energy within himself, the area around Nero begins to gain a subtle and imposing blue ambient lighting, which grows in intensity in line with the power he ends up gathering within himself; once he gains as much as he can, Nero unleashes this power, directing it's primary impact on a single target. Upon impact a sudden howling blue whirlwind erupts throughout the area, sounds of which go beyond even regular hearing; almost as if it can reach into the very minds and souls of others in the vicinity of the technique as the shapes of what appear to be ethereal wolves claw scratch and bite at everyone around, excluding a select few that Nero can spare from these effects.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Preparation, Quake+
Utility Technique || Sharp Mind
Nero is skilled in expressing the will of his mind. He is able to communicate with nearby people and those he is familiar with, this lets him and his friends converse privately as they so desire. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Lunar Listening
Being of Garouan heritage has afforded Nero several gifts— one of which is his exceptional and advanced hearing. He ultimately cannot be deafened by noise, and is able to pick up on more shifts in sound in the area immediately around him than most people, as well as differentiate specific sounds even among a cacophonous din of noise when focused on doing so. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Energy Sensing
Nero is able to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Nero's staff is intended to become enchanted to work like the Power Pole in the future, which will be represented as happening once I buy the item! Until then, it's just a really really well made battlestaff.
