Hakumen nodded at the alien's affirmation, pleased that he too could see the merit in his idea to adapt the Soulrift Torneada to better fit his chosen armament. The stabbing portion of the original technique could still be used against an enemy with a similarly large weapon or a larger stature than his own, of course, but he had not met many on Earth who could dwarf him in height. Perhaps that would change if he decided to visit another world someday, he thought. Imaginary scenes of battles across the stars against monstrous foes with massive swords and spears filled his mind as he pondered the idea.
His inner thoughts were interrupted, however, as the interloper arrived on the scene.
The cyborg's head snapped over in the Saiyan's direction as soon as he felt his energy, and the hand still wrapped around the hilt of his blade tightened its grip as the newcomer began to speak. As much as he did not wish to fight, the tone of the man's voice didn't promise an easy solution to this sudden confrontation. Glancing back at Barracuda as he began to respond, the enhanced swordsman managed to pick up enough details to figure out what this was all about. Yahhoy Port… Whatever had happened down there in the south, it seemed that it had managed to catch up with his companion.
"It would seem that you have made a name for yourself," he said, pointing out the obvious. Judging the power of the two aliens, the cyborg could see that the Gemoonian clearly had an advantage if the two were to come to blows, possessing a little over double his strength. Was it his place to get involved if he seemed to have things well in hand? He did not wish to interfere in personal business.
At least, that was what he thought before the brutish thug brazenly proclaimed his desire to separate his head from his shoulders. In response, Hakumen simply placed his other hand back on the hilt of his sword, raising it before him as he lowered himself into a fighting stance. Any irritation that he felt at the Saiyan's words was kept safely hidden within the mind behind that unchanging mask. With his face firmly locked in the direction of this new threat, he inclined his head in response to Barracuda's words.
This was indeed a perfect opportunity to test what he had learned.
"He is a fool if he thinks he can take on both of us at once." Truer words had never been spoken. At that, the cyborg lapsed into silence as he focused on the coming battle. He would let the Saiyan make the first move, he decided. He had faith that Barracuda could easily protect himself from anything he might throw at him thanks to the stark difference between the two.
And when he did? Hakumen would be ready to slip straight in and take advantage of his mistake.
