Running into Frostbyte near the Eternal Ocean made Barracuda realize something...he was going to have to hunt for food to maintain the nourishment necessary to thrive on the Earth plane. His metabolism had sped up and his appetite had grown since he came to the Earth.
He had been known to fast and maintain purity through liquid diets, but the adjustment to new terrain had changed this for him. He traveled to Mount Paozu where he heard there would be plenty of wildlife to indulge in.
Cuda had a deep respect for all living things, and saw hunting as a spiritual exchange. He didn't approach it from the vantage point of a cruel game of wins and conquering. He was always willing and ready to pray to the great animal spirits in order to ask for their permission to receive nourishment from them.
On Gemoon, the enlightened hunters would do rituals to please these spirits and deities, convincing them to offer themselves and allow the hunter to take one of it's own. Barracuda believed we, living beings and spirits alike, are always in exchange with the Universe like this in one way or another. Birth and death, giving and receiving, working and resting.
There was one problem though. He was no archer -- that was his sisters M.O., which, the thought of using a bow and arrow made him miss her dearly. She would have her arrows blessed by a sage before they would go out and hunt as youths.
Those days were far behind him though, as Cuda now found himself alone in a bamboo forest of Paozu. He had one of her old bows with him, and could materialize arrows at his will, but he would probably be more inclined to use his cutlass if it came down to it.
His patience would be tested as he sat idly, preparing his tools for his intentions of a fruitful outing. "The library had an interesting number of books regarding the types of creatures that are to be found out here. I think I've got a good gauge on which ones are edible, which ones are high in fat, protein and different nutrients. This should be a challenge, but hopefully a fun one," he thought silently as he pondered.
He had caught the scents what he believed to be a group of deer nearby. Waiting in tow amongst the foliage, he spent an hour or two tracking one large male who was grazing around the fields. He was built for this type of tedium, his mind was a fortress and he could be as patient as he needed to be as he prepared his bow and complementary arrows.
Nothing had spotted him, as his ability to evaporate his power level from the perception of others was active. What he wasn't prepared for, was that this deer was the head of a family.

His arrow was drawn, and he had a shot prepared that was looking to be a deadly one..but by the time he finally caught up to the deer in what he perceived to be a vulnerable position, he realized that the deer had a mate and a child. "I don't want to leave this fawn without a father..." he said to himself. He thought of missing his own family, and lowered his bow. An intuition from inside told him to wait for the next animal he could find, out of due respect to the Nature and Rhythm of All Things.
Barracuda blocked out the feeling and sound of his rumbling stomach, falling deeper into his stoic essence, as a means to maintain his composure and find a proper source of animal nourishment in a manner worthy of his karmic energy.
