Verst had been planet hopping pretty frequently since he had become a privateer for the Empire, but it was not totally against his wants, searching for places to acquire profit and expansion regions for the Emperors’ consideration. But he had been lacking in his training. It had been many years since he trained in any way close to formal.
So, he made his way to the same training facility he had interrupted Ticoga in. A massive building that contained the majority of the Arcosian Garrison. Most of the power levels that were recorded were in the low thousands, and would require a squad of 10 or so to challenge Verst, but the subsequent collateral damage would be excessive.
However, he had seen there were some training drones that could be customised for combat. The Sun Raider still felt out of place in a military facility. Often having to check he had the captain insignia on his chest as he walked around being saluted and kept out of the way of. Approaching the familiar room a motion sensor must have triggered as a platform raised out of the centre of the room. The room mostly consisted of padded walls, but there were window panels where you could observe the training from above. As Verst approached the platform a control panel raised from the floor and presented an insert for his badge. Following its prompt he placed it in there, with a shred of hesitation, this could’ve been an elaborate trap after all, but no, there was no real threat here.
‘Captain Verst’ the mechanical voice coming from a directionless source rang out. The control panel lit up with various options, agility, power and combat were the ones that stood out to the Yellow Arcosian. He selected combat and turned the dial to 3 out of 10. A good place to start, he supposed.
The panel receded into the floor taking his badge with it. Guess he’d have to tough this out no matter what. He rolled his shoulders and tilted his neck, a few cracks filled the space but were quickly dulled. Jumping from foot to foot he got his blood pumping and limbs stretched.
Soon after, 3 drones shot out of the floor, each brimming with energy and glowing with a series of lights down the sides of the body, the lights at the back lit up first, and jumped forward each second. Verst was still unsure what was about to happen when the lights hit the central panel and ignited a blast that nearly caught his helmet.
