The east called to Erlking, and so he went. Having somewhat reassured his army of their purpose, and having somewhat avoided his untimely end… He decided that now, he was finally free to do as he wished. He thought about what his new purpose might be—Now that he was free from endless war on Pars. The empire had no shortage of needs, but his mind gravitated toward one in particular. Espionage.
His particular set of unusual skills made him ideal for this sort of work. And though the empire's networks were vast, they were not infallible… as he was. He rocketed towards Konats, followed only by a small group of attack pods. He’d learned (after sneaking into one of the empire's many informational archives) of activities pertaining to the far-off world. Of the unusual amount of interest imperial officials were showing in it.
He’d no clue why… That information was much more heavily guarded. But he intended to go there himself and find out. Maybe what he found would benefit the empire… maybe it wouldn't. Regardless, he’d nothing better to do, except wallow in the sloth of Berg life. His princely title did not afford him any official responsibilities.
His small pod pierced the planet's atmosphere, and he descended quickly through thick yellow clouds. His small group followed, and they crashed together near the coast of some sort of inner sea. They exited and look at one another, unsure. “Spread out across this world, live normal lives. I will come to you eventually. Now go,” He said sternly, motioning with one hand. The group kneeled, then zipped off in different directions. They would act as the beginnings of his own “network” here. He watched silently as they faded from view… then, without a word, he waved his hand, and the pods disappeared beneath a hill of dirt.
He let his hands fall to his side, but the old magic still weaved around him, crafting a dark cloak that shrouded Erlking almost entirely. His own horns shimmered and shrank slightly, a mask appearing on his face. With that, he was content and began to walk briskly down the coast. He’d take his time, finding out all the intricacies of this world. And he would… for he was Erlking.
