Apexle gave a sigh of relief as he exited his assault pod. Having stopped there to put away the item he'd picked up when he went travelling with Gandigan. Luckily enough in between the time that it took for Apexle and Gandigan to head to the shrine Apexle himself was able to get a moment or two to himself as he began to calibrate his systems. "When I finish up with Gandigan I'm leaving Namek immediately" Apexle mumbled to himself in a more or less aggressive way.
He didn't hate Namek itself, however he was most definitely not enjoying the sleepless night and all the weird creatures that seemed to enjoy harassing him. Apexle's mind continued to wonder as his stomach began to crumble and gargle. Once again he was hungry. Which meant some poor creature needed to die.
After a while Apexle was able to find a rather plum creature which he likened to a pig of Namek. Without much restraint or hesitation he quickly went to work cutting and cleaning his future dish as he prepared for what might be a long Namekian vacation. It wasn't too bad, however Apexle would definitely need to find a new place to camp that wasn't the dust infested Outer Plait
After hours went by and Apexle had eaten he began to wonder just why nobody had come that way recently. He'd seen his fair share of Mazoku in the days prior, however as of a few days ago they seemed to appear less and less which made the Namekian wasteland look even more deserted than they had before. "Jeez did Gandigan go and kill the entire race?" Apexle found himself muttering as he relaxed near his space pod.

Interesting. The rumours floating about regarding the Outer Plait turned out to be untrue. Expecting a nasty grim hellscape, the wanderer was greeted by a rugged tough expanse instead. Though, they supposed they should have expected it after seeing that part of the planet from orbit look different than they thought it would... That said, in their defense, the Outer Plait was the only thing that was different from what they were told. Maybe some mystic managed to fix it? Something to look into for later if other plans were to come to fruition.
In any case, the anomalous wanderer took in the sights, taking keen note of what was not as they expected it to be. They had run into some locals, a group of Mazoku, and after a short interaction, they had forewarned this small elven stranger about a swarm of what seemed to be scaly birds that would be coming through a portion of the Outer Plait. It was a migration period, and on most other planets that may be a more peaceful event but these avians in particular were known to be really hyperactive, disruptive and sometimes aggressive when migrating, so most locals of Namek would know not to stick around out of respect for this wildlife and its behaviours.
That said, the wanderer was infinitely curious about it all the same, and a small part of them wanted to see it all up close. So, after the local Mazoku made their way onward to another location, the wanderer went precisely towards where they were told not to go.
Eventually, by some cosmic luck, they had also ended up finding a small campsite with one occupant and their lone space pod. While they made no effort to hide their approach or presence, the stranger did not speak, they simply stared at the person before them.
Apexle was in the middle of his relaxing. He'd wanted for so long to just take a load off and rest, however as the dust rolled over the Outer Plait he noticed a ki signature approaching. "Great more company?" Apexle thought aloud. By then the figure had come into the light and Apexle was finally able to make out the newcomer. It was most definitely not Namekian or at least wasn't the typical every day Namekian to say the least.
The pale purple skin seemed to flicker more and more as the creature moved towards the campsite. Having seen a lot of strange things in the last few days Apexle really couldn't bring himself to question the appearance of the newcomer all to much. "You look a little roughed up" The Tuffle mentioned at the outfit the creature was in. The poor soul has just a few scraps of clothes on himself and not even a pair of shoes to go with it.
"Yeah the Outer Plait is pretty rough" Apexle remarked to the now closer newcomer. His body shifted as his space pod opened. Quickly the Tuffle pulled out what meager remains of his meal before was left. Unfortunately all he produced was a covered bowl with the remains of the creatures tail from before. Which happened to be Apexle's favorite part. 'If the guy didn't look half dead' Apexle thought to himself as he grabbed a pair of sandals as well.
"Originally I came to Namek to enjoy the beach, but as you can see no beaches" Apexle complained as he turned back to the purple creation and dropped the sandals at the newcomers feet and handed him a cold bowl of monster tail. "It's nice to meet you I'm Apexle" Apexle explained only after he'd done everything prior.

The stranger stood in silence, staring on with their unblinking neutral expression as the person they had found began to speak. There was a comment on how the wandering anomaly looked, and it made perfect sense. “You would not be the first to mention it. This is simply the way we look.” They spoke, somehow, without a single bit of movement whatsoever, with no clear indication as to how they managed, in a chorus of many voices folded into one. It could have been anything between magic, sonic projection or just really stellar levels of ventriloquism. “It is no fault of the Outer Plait, if that is your concern.”
Looking through the space pod, the camper that the stranger had found brought out a pair of sandals and a bowl of some sort of food. They explained what they were supposedly here for as they handed the footwear and food over. “From what we can tell, if you are after beaches, then the Dragon Isles would be more appropriate.” Looking between the bowl in their hands and the sandals at their feet, the anomalous stranger chose to set the bowl down on a nearby rock as they then went to put on the sandals, only for the sandals to seemingly de-materialize into nothingness. At a closer glance, it could be easily seen that the pattern of their socks had changed instead. “Hmm. As expected. We thank you all the same.” Picking up the bowl, introductions were noted. “In this life, we go by Nervan.” Their name, strangely, had only a single unique voice behind it!
Apexle was brought aback as the creature spoke. The tone or rather tones in which the creature spoke seemed to differ greatly with every word or rather even letter that left his lips. 'Is this real? Is this guy like actually speaking in different tones?' Apexle thought to himself still holding a soft smile as to not make the creature feel unwelcomed or awkward for the way he spoke. After all Apexle knew it must not have been an easy life for the creature up until now. Even if the Outer Plait didn't bother him as much as it did Apexle.
"Well that's good" Apexle said before quickly speaking again. "I'm glad Namek ain't giving you as hard as a time that it gave me" The Tuffle added. "yeesh then I'm also sorry guess you do look decent" The Tuffle corrected not wanting to make an enemy out of everyone on the planet. He definitely didn't want to go starting problems with a creature that meant no harm either.
It took a bit for the other comments to be made. Apexle all the while waited patiently as the newcomer placed the bowl on an adjacent rock and went about putting on the sandals. To Apexle's shock the Sandals didn't seem to stay on his feet. Instead they seemed to mold a new pattern on his socks.
"Well Yeah I have noticed the lake that decorates the Dragon Isles, but since my time here has been poor I won't be staying much longer" The Tuffle took a momentary pause looking back on all the terrible events that seemed to transpire before he met the purple lad. "Oh yeah it's no problem I'd look terrible in sandals" The tuffle said with a joking tone hoping the newcomer wasn't going to be upset that his new shoes were gone. "It's nice to meet you Nervan." Apexle said giving a wider smile as the man introduced himself.
"So then Nervan what brings you to Namek? Got a friend here or just a bit of a get away?" Apexle asked trying to keep their conversation going. Even if the tones in which Nervan spoke send shivers down his spine.

Nervan supposed it was good that Namek hadn’t given them much trouble— or any at all really. The Tuffle didn’t seem to be having much luck on his end however. “That is unfortunate. Perhaps your time here will be better eventually— or another visit may be more to your liking.”
As far as ‘looking decent’ was concerned, Nervan gave a barely perceivable minimal half hearted shrug of their shoulders. “We cannot imagine that many look like... This.” Nervan gestured lazily to themselves. “Decent or not, this is us.” Luckily for Apexle, Nervan was amicable and not so easily taken aback or insulted!
“The Dragon Isles do have nice lakes too, that is true.” Nervan seemed to nod incredibly slowly, but to the rhythm of a normal nod. “Perhaps another visit some other time would be fruitful, like we said.” Unsure of what Apexle meant by his joke, Nervan tilted their head slightly. “Then why did you have them?” Ah, so they took the statement rather literally.
“The same to you, Apexle.” Whenever Apexle happened to blink or otherwise look away from Nervan and look back, a piece of the meal that was given to the strange homunculus would be gone, but it also looked like Nervan hadn’t even moved so much as a millimetre. “We did not come here for any particular reason, at least not this time. We do have a friend that is from here, but they are currently elsewhere. There is not much that ties either of us to this world apart from general fondness for it.”
Apexle gave a half hearted hum. Although his stay on Namek hadn't been the best he'd ever had, but Nervan wasn't entirely wrong. His visits to the planet prior had been much better. Perhaps it was only this bad because he'd followed Gandigan down a road of destruction? Apexle's eyes closed for a moment. "You're not wrong Nervan. My time might've been a bit worst than others because of the company I kept. Maybe on the next visit it'll be a bit more... Entertaining and relaxing?" Apexle admitted. His words sounding a bit more hopeful towards the end as if he was hoping a far off dream would come true.
"I don't think you look too bad. I mean we're on a planet with people who resemble slugs I for one can say you aren't the worst looking alien I've met" Apexle said with a kinder tone. He didn't want to upset the newcomer. Especially since they didn't seem in the least interested in robbing or hurting him. "At least you're true to yourself. That makes you beautiful on its own" Apexle said with a bright smile towards Nervan. He was happy to find someone who was content with themselves, and not in a state of self despair. It was always a refreshing sight to see others have confidence in themselves.
"Yeah the Dragon Isles were always great, but I felt a weird emanating from that way. So I opted not to poke my nose in it" Apexle admitted to the newcomer. "Although it does take a bit getting use to the color of the water here. As for the Sandals" Apexle gave a little chuckle to himself. "Well I just hate being barefoot honestly. I tend to bruise and get hurt easily so it's better to have some protection on my feet even if I'm on a sandy beach" Apexle admitted rubbing the back of his head. "After all injuries on the feet tend to get infected the easiest" Apexle added as if the two were in a biology class.
"Ahhh. So it's just for a visit then?" Apexle assumed his own answer from what Nervan had said. "I completely get that. I myself only came here after a little argument with a friend of mine so all things considered we're kind of in the same boat" Apexle said with a forced laugh trying to keep the mood up. He found that Nervan despite the constant shifting tones didn't seem all that different from the people he'd met before. Perhaps just a bit more polite than the Namekians, however Apexle couldn't claim that all Namekians were bad.
"Well for what it's worth. Welcome to Namek! I hope the locals haven't been too much of a problem consering this is technically the bad side of town" Apexle said with a welcoming look towards Nervan. Apexle wasn't sure exactly how the locals had taken to the... Alien, however if Nervan was always this way Apexle didn't expect the locals to cause Nervan any trouble.

“That would be the beauty of things, really. Planets that are inhabited are rarely so stagnant in what they offer as an experience.” Nervan would hope for such a thing to be the case at least, given the true stagnant worlds without anyone on them that they had seen in the past. “It would be the reason that we travel freely to many worlds rather than remain for very long.”
As for Nervan’s looks, they gave a light appreciative nod for the most part. “Thank you, but it would be rude to speak ill of Namekians in such a way. They are simply different from us, and that is okay.” In Nervan’s opinion, it would be boring otherwise.
Nervan tilted their head, curious about what Apexle meant about a weirdness in the Dragon Isles. “What was this weird thing you felt? We haven’t experienced anything like that. Perhaps we missed something?” Nervan sounded like they had chuckled. “Well, if you think naturally green water is strange, we have been to a planet with naturally occurring bubbly pink water. It was effectively what one could mistake for soda.”
A practical use for something generally always made sense, and what was once Apexle’s possession of sandals did exactly that— it made sense. “We cannot say that we experience the same thing, but it is what it is.”
On the topic of visiting Namek, Nervan gave a small nod. “Yes, for the most part. We are intending to go to Konats next, which could be interesting. Have you been there recently?” It was a shame that Apexle had a fight with one of his own friends though. “That must be rough. Hopefully it all works out.” Any good friend would manage to make fine in the end.
“We haven’t seen much in the way of trouble, a few gruff locals around here, but not much else. Our landing scared a farmer quite a bit though. Thankfully we did not ruin their crops or anything, we would have felt embarrassed.”
Apexle was still getting use to Nervans ever shifting voice. It was rather hard for him to decipher if the newcomer was happy or not, however he couldn't tell no matter how much he tried to read into the words. "Well you're not wrong, but staying in the same place too long might make it the planet feel stagnant. That's why it's important to have fun and take trips around the universe to find whatever interesting thing that might be out there" Apexle counter with a smile, his words swelling with agreement with Nervan viewing his comment as a truth that most people have come to know.
"I guess I understand that. I didn't mean it in a slanderous way. Although I do understand likening them to a slug might have been a bit insensitive of me. My apologies" Apexle said letting his smile soften as he gave his apology to the alien. He understood that the way he phrased his last comment could be found offensive. Even if the Tufyan didn't mean it to be. Perhaps that was why he was at odds with some of the inhabitants of the planet.
"Ah yeah. It was like." Apexle began before giving a hum. He wasn't sure how to word it correctly. "Some kind of darkness seemed to be around there. A powerful one as well. I decided to give it a bit before I went over, however my friend Gandigan already departed for the area so I'm sure that it's going to be settles within a timely manner. If not I'll just go fix the problem myself" Apexle said letting his smile light up once more. "I don't think we have to bother with it though. The Namekians here aren't weak after all" He said giving a praise to the inhabitants of the planet.
"Bubbly pink water... That sounds like a great sight, but maybe a bit of putting for some people" Apexle said rubbing the back of his head. "Although if they could turn it into soda easier than they already do I can understand if someone made a business on that Planet" Apexle said with more of a mumble vocalizing a potential business venture.
"Yeah. Infections are a pain. Luckily you can avoid those. Some species might be envious of you for not having to worry about those" Apexle praised Nervan a bit. Although he wasn't absolutely sure the alien had immunity to infections, or if he'd just never experienced them before.
"Ahhh Konats. Actually I just came from there. I left when my friend and another resident of the world had a bit of a pity party. Although I can't blame them. I couldn't understand them either and might have said some irrational things instead of asking them why they felt the way they did" Apexle admitted dropping his smile as his hand ran through his black locks. "If ya end up on Konats and you see a green hedgehog looking alien named Striker give her an apology for me alright?" Apexle requested trying hard to fake a smile as he laid out his own faults just a moment ago before moving on with the conversation.
"Ahhh yeah. Farmers are always worried about their crops. I'm glad you didn't destroy them or rather I'm happier you didn't get hurt on the landing" Apexle said happily. "Some of the Locals here aren't bad. It's more or less a single sub species of Namekians that go around causing a uproar, but there's enough of them for that to be somewhat of a problem honestly" Apexle admitted with a shrug. He couldn't hate them for doing what they pleased on the Planet, however he couldn't find it in his heart to condone their actions either.

“And yet, many more than you or us call a single place home. They saw through the stagnance, they saw what only they could see— the place they could return to, always and forever. Home.” Nervan looked up into the sky, perhaps even directly into one of the suns, though in any case they did so undeterred. “We have no place such as that. This fact does not bother us. We have something else that we value just as much.”
Nervan’s gaze returned to Apexle a few moments later. “It would pay to be aware, that’s all.” It was good that Apexle didn’t mean to be malicious, but so long as he was now aware of how he could come across, Nervan considered it a victory.
“It will be seen to and taken care of, most likely, whatever it may be.” Nervan commented on the strange darkness Apexle had picked up on. Nervan themselves didn’t run into anyone that was particularly worried about whatever it may be on their travels— this kind of lent credence to the rumor that Namek was apparently very well defended, and Apexle said as much himself.
Apparently there had been some drama on Konats. A pity party? Why? What for? “Might we ask what happened to cause this?” Nervan tilted their head slightly, only for it to suddenly jerk back upright, then listlessly tilt back down. At the mention of a name, it just so happened to be one Nervan had heard before. “Hm?” Holding a hand up to their ear, Nervan seemed to bring out a small card out from behind their ear. “Would this be her?” It was Striker’s business card! “We have actually met once before. Interesting person. If we run into her again before you do, we can let her know.” Nervan put the business card away and gave Apexle a choppy thumbs up.
“Everybody wins, really. We met some interesting locals at that time.” Regarding the societal climate of Namek, Nervan tapped their chin. “We think it is more intricate than that, the issue of the three clans of Namek, it has to be, it runs deep. We know that much for certain. It is a story for Namek to tell, and for those that chose to see it in the way only they could; as home.”
'Home.' It was a word not so foreign to Apexle, although the word and meaning itself seemed like a distant memory that sent a shiver of numerous emotions down his spine. It wasn't just the tone they had as they spoke anymore. It was the meaning behind it that stood out. Apexle didn't have anything close to a home. At the very best he could call the alleys on every planet his home, but at the very worst he truly had no home. A circumstance that never really dawned on him until Nervan mentioned it.
Suddenly the Tufyan let his right hand rub the back of his head. "Well I guess we aren't that much different in that department. I've been a drifter since I was a child so it's kind of grown on me" Apexle admitted feigning a smile. "Guess it wouldn't be bad to have a home, but if I ended up with one it'd probably be a space ship of some kind. Since I can't imagine myself being in one place for vast amounts of time," The Tufyan found himself mirroring Nervan's gaze upwards. Soon enough looking downward towards the alien himself after only a moment.
"Yeah I'll try to remember that" Apexle said happily. "Although I do find myself wondering uhm. Not to be rude, but I don't think I know your species. Although I hope you wont mind me asking, but uhm. What are you?" Apexle finally asked. He wasn't against calling Nervan by his name or by alien, however he did find himself just a little bothered that he didn't know what species he was speaking with, and given that it seemed intelligent Apexle figured it would be best to question the alien directly.
"Yeah. I'm sure the darkness will be taken care of after all. It almost always is" Apexle couldn't help but give a chuckle. He found the idea of a bad guy actually winning almost laughable. Since he believe where there was one evil soul ten good souls would face off against them.
"Erm the cause?" Apexle said putting his index finger to his chin. "I guess it was their fear that se- No. I think it's the fact they didn't trust the residents of Konats to take up arms to protect their home" Apexle had to correct himself half way through his statement. "If you look at the 'Heroes' nowadays they all started by having something to protect. Nothing is more important than saving the place and people you love after all" Apexle tried to give the best explanation.
"I thought that they didn't trust their civilians, but I think I might have been wrong about that. Maybe they just wanted to protect them, and make sure they never had to face hardships in the first place. I never said those things though. I'm honestly not sure why I'm saying them now, but it's probably because you're a good listener" Apexle found himself rambling a bit before his right hand covered his lips to stop himself before he cut off anything Nervan would have to say.
It was around then that Nervan pulled out a card that had the image of the little trouble maker herself. "Uhhhhh." He found himself at a loss for words for a moment. A remarkable thing for a tuffle really. "Yeah... Not sure how you got that card, but that's definitely the one" Apexle admitted letting out a hoarse laugh. "Please don't tell her anything I said though" Apexle managed to speak albeit with a squeaky and almost mouse like tone.
"Ahh yeah. The locals here aren't bad, but if they managed to actually work together on their home it might look a lot better. Given that there are beautiful structures just left to waste away on Namek" Apexle admitted. He couldn't help but remember the castle Gandigan and he went to a bit ago. "I think eventually they'll start tp see eye to eye. After all it doesn't seem like they're all to interested in violence amongst themselves" Apexle mentioned as his hand waved over the vast planes with no fighting to be seen. A wonderful sight that he figured he'd point out while waiting for Nervans response

“That is largely the same for us as well. We were a wanderer from the very beginning.” It was how Nervan had met those closest to them after all, so why would they bother stopping any of that now if it was what worked. They had a ship, or at least a glorified van capable of space travel; but it was in someone else’s possession at the moment, so they just had a ball of junk that kind of worked for now instead. The former would be more akin to a ‘home’ if only because of the people that were associated with it.
Nervan tilted their head lazily to the side, further than what would be normal, before it snapped back upright with the sound of... Well, it sounded like snapping bones but clearly nothing was broken. “We fail to see how that is rude. It does not offend us. Shinjin is the closest thing, but even that, we do not think is the answer. Not the true answer, anyway. For now, it will work.”
The two seemed in agreement that Namek could largely take care of itself, so Nervan chose to instead move on with the conversation, particularly that which involved Konats and by extension Striker. “Ah. So something has gone wrong on Konats, then?” Nervan asked, curious to know what that was, seemingly happy to let Apexle talk as much as he pleased. Maybe that was why the Tufyan thought Nervan to be a good listener.
“We met her on Earth, she was training with a ‘Hero For Hire’. Strange choice of occupation, we thought, but there was nuance and charm to it.” Nervan shrugged (kind of). “Then what would you like us to mention to her, if anything at all?”
As far as Namek was concerned, Nervan looked around lazily. “Should they see the bigger picture, then it will be possible. Clearly someone has made an effort already.” Nervan was of course referring to the current state of the Outer Plait as a whole, curious to know who had managed to purify it, but in no rush to find out at the moment, they were simply satisfied that it was indeed done.
Once more, Nervan would place the bowl that was in their hands on the nearby rock— now completely empty of any trace of food. “That was nice. Thank you.” Oh. They had been eating it the whole time, apparently. Every time Apexle had blinked or turned away from Nervan, a portion of it was gone, and eventually, there was none left! “What was the primary ingredient, the monstrous tail specifically— from what creature does it originate?”
