Well, this was a risky maneuver. Alva wasn't actually sure this was a good idea, but... Well, for the good of all mankind, right?
No, it wasn't something so altruistic as that. Alva simply didn't trust Derry, was all. While it might have been a good thing in the short term for a criminal who she'd previously been under the employ of to be President of Earth, she knew how ruthless Derry could be. And she technically no longer worked for her. What if he found out her true identity? About her father? He had so much he could use to blackmail her and just about ruin her and her pops' life. No way was she going to let that happen.
But he was too strong to just run up and kill. That'd definitely get her killed. Or at least get her identity exposed. So, taking him on head on was out. But finding some way to bring him down through the law? That might be doable. It wasn't like Derry was above even the law, yeah?
Having lived in Central City all her life, and dipped her toes into its criminal enterprises, Alva was vaguely familiar with the people on the other side off the law. The 'good' side. The side that would be interested in taking Derry down, if they found out what kind of stuff he dealt beneath the table. So, she reached out to one of said officers. Some guy named 'Marshall' who had a pretty good reputation of being righteous and all that. Experienced, too.
She'd sent him a message that'd be hard for him to ignore, through some discreet hacking channels that'd go straight to his private phone.
"I have information that ties the President of Earth to a massive criminal conspiracy. Meet me in the South parking lot near the Applebee's on 16th. Sixth floor. 5:00 PM. Come alone. Trust no one."
He couldn't ignore that, yeah? Alva waited inside her suit on the sixth floor of the lot, her arms crossed and her back resting against a wall. It was approaching 5 o'clock now, and there was still no sign of the copper yet. He'd come, right? If he didn't, she supposed she'd just have to try coming at this from some other angle...
