TRAIT UPDATES & MORE
This is something of a 'part two' to the Q4 Balance Patch, this time focusing in on a couple of trait fixes as well as a handful of new traits. As a result of this update, members are permitted a one time free trait respec. This must be used within a month of activity following the update: meaning, returning players will have a month to respec if they want upon their return, while currently active players have one month as of the making of this post.
Please note that rule changes including trait changes do not apply to current Action Threads. To avoid confusion, please wait until your character is free from any current Action Thread before applying for a trait change.
If you are currently in an Action Thread, the timer for your free general trait respec does not begin until after you escape or exit your Action Thread.

1: NEW TRAITS
Receipt Records
Refunded items return you 70% of their original cost rather than 50%. If you provide an item to an ally mid-thread and they choose not to use it, you may have it automatically returned to you.Nomadic
May change your home region without spending experience. Has a cooldown of two months.

Raw Talent
Twice per thread, when using a Non-Heavy Standard technique, you may again an additional 1 MP.

Tenacious
Once per thread, a Non-Heavy Standard technique you use during combat costs -1 KP. This cannot make it cost 0 KP. It cannot have its power boosted in any way.
2: REVISED GENERAL TRAITS
Mimicry
Once per thread, if standard or support technique has been used by another character in your thread, you may use that technique as if it was your own. Does not apply to Sparking or Merging Techniques and does not carry over to future threads.
Change: Now applies to all techniques in the thread, including those not used directly against you.
Impossible Recovery
If you are defeated by taking Critical Damage in an Action Thread, you can choose to be dealt a Wound and continue the fight with whatever HP you have remaining. If defeated again, you will be dealt an additional Wound. In a non-AT thread, this allows you to resist Critical Damage once, and you do not sustain a wound. When this effect triggers, you lose all status effects (positive and negative) and may use Second Wind even if you have already used it.
Change: Now removes status effects and enables a second use of Second Wind.
Vampiric
Once per thread, you may designate a Standard Attack as ‘Vampiric.’ If this attack deals any damage, you choose to recover 1 KP or 10% HP.
Change: Now has the option to be used for an HP recovery.
Homecoming (formerly Homeboy)
You can select one additional ‘home area’ on a different planet from your initial home area, or expand your home area to cover an entire planet. This allows you to bypass ordinary Action Thread restrictions.
Change: May now be used to cover an entire planet.
3: REVISED SPECIES TRAITS
Warrior Heritage
Once per thread, add the Bleed and Bleed+ effects to any non-Sparking technique.
Change: Replaced piercing with the double variant additions of Bleed and Bleed+ due to Piercing's now lowered TP cost.
Battle Wisdom/Alien Archives/Combat Learning
Once per thread, you may add on any non-sparking variant to a Light or Medium offensive technique. Cannot exceed two variants on one technique.
Change: May now be used to add piercing.
Selfless/Communal Heritage
Once per thread, you may use a free 40% strength defense technique when you block for another player. This has the unique variant 'steadfast', which prevents bleed-through to the initial target if you are defeated by the attack and are within 60% of the attack's initial power level.
Supremacy (replacing Metamorphosis)
When engaged with a foe that has sustained 100% or more damage, you gain a +10% boost to all techniques when attacking or defending against them, but you may not boost these techniques with momentum. If the target heals below 100%, this effect is lost.
4: LEADER BENEFITS
Planetary leaders such as Kami, Guru, President, Tuffle Chancellor and Saiyan monarch may now select their entire home planet as a home region, even without the new Homecoming trait. This will enable planetary leaders to more freely defend their planets as well as engage with other planets and their base of characters.
In addition to this, Kami and Guru now receive access to [UT] Dimensional Telepathy. This allows them to perform telepathy freely across dimensions, however the user must have established themselves in-character in their respective site role before the technique is granted.
Finally, we will be adding a page for political leaders (such as the Earth's President, Saiyan monarch, etc.) to record or compile the various directives, policies, laws, etcetera that they enact, amend, repeal or otherwise during their tenure as leader. This will follow some general guidelines: universal assent for new policies should not be assumed, for example.
5: CHARACTER SLOTS & ALTS
The final point on the agenda is that we are expanding the amount of characters a player can have concurrently to six. All players have access to this sixth slot with no conditions.
Although not strictly a rule change, with the expansion in character slots we also felt it would be a good time to remind players that while they can engage in the same overarching plots when required, their alternate characters should not (IC or OOC) be used to advance their other character's goals (ie. by gaming AT locks).
6: ACTION THREAD CHANGE: SPLIT SPEED BUMP
Recent events have brought the topic of varying speeds between Action Thread splits and main threads to the attention of the community. As a result of recent experiences, we have opted to implement a slight fix to this in the form of the Split Speed Bump, which you can read below. As with all changes in this thread, this will not apply to ongoing ATs.
Split Speed Bump (SSB)
If a split reaches more than three times the amount of rotations that have elapsed in the main thread since the split's creation, players in that split must wait one additional rotation (two rotations total) to rejoin the fight. This is intended to give the main thread time to make up for any narrative dissonance in terms of times passing, as well as keeping players in the main thread from being blindsided by sudden returns from relatively fresh fighters from other splits.
Currently, this is capped at one additional rotation. This does not equalize rotations between the Main Thread and Splits, but rather provides a little extra breathing room.
7: AFTERLIFE TUTORS
Though not technically a change, we are happy to announce the results of the Afterlife Tutor search. We have reviewed the applications and as a result:
Nasu will be the good tutor.
Ward will be the neutral tutor.
Kamae will be the evil tutor.
As per normal, these roles are granted conditionally with the expectation that those taking them will play out their roles within the context of the wider shared story. A tutor changing alignments or acting in contradiction to the role will result in the role being re-opened.
