From the depths of space, a ship flickers into existence. Ticoga, seated in the pilot's seat, gazes at the splendor of Arcose, and leans back in his seat. The ship had been set to autopilot the moment it re-entered normal cruising speeds, so all he needed to do was wait. The encrypted codes would ensure that his ship would follow the military lanes, rather than enter the civilian lanes towards the planet.
It was good to come home, after so long away. But now that he had seen the vibrancy of Konats, Ticoga somewhat laments the outward appearance of his homeland. Besides the course of his mission, Ticoga had a great deal of things to think about. He had met numerous interesting folk - and none of them had been natives to the world.
"Perhaps a diplomatic outreach should be made." Ticoga murmurs to himself as the ship begins to enter Arcose's atmosphere. "Perhaps we present an alternative - extend the prosperity of the Empire, rather than automatic military enforcement."
He shakes his head.
"No, I needn't think of such things. That is for the Triumvirate to decide." Ticoga counters to himself. And his next words came out, unbidden, and surprise even himself. "Assuming the Triumvirate can hold together without destroying one another..."
Ticoga frowns, and then grimaces. Where had that come from? It wasn't his place to denounce their choices, only to follow their commands. This line of thought was borderline sedition. He falls silent for the rest of the trip down to the spaceport, frowning at his thoughts.
In time, Ticoga's ship settles down in the military controlled section of the Floe Spaceport. As such, there were no payments needing to be made, no paperwork to sign. Everything was handled by the support techs, so long as they had the proper encrypted security codes. Ticoga's codes worked everywhere, with only the palace as the exception. Only those with express permission could land there.
The crimson Arcosian walks through the spaceport, nodding at techs and engineers as they pass by. He leaves the spaceport through the civilian halls, deciding to take his time returning to the military headquarters to file his progress report.
He hadn't even gone to Konats to follow find leads about his mission. He had simply, somehow, encountered beings that had some partial knowledge or connection, however little it was. His leads needed time to properly settle, and gathering information would take time. The Red Dawn Pirates would not get away from him this time around.
That left training, as Emperor Mint had recommended. Once outside, Ticoga flies straight up through the air, only stopping once he'd reached a height above the clouds. He gazes down at the town, losing himself to ponderous thought...
