High above the Berri Forest, the Jörmungandr rested in the upper atmosphere. Deep within, metal rang as repairs were being made, and two figures were trapped within after a terrible fight. One in the brig, and the other in the medical bay.
Augh.
Nothing felt worse then waking up with a pool of blood in your stomach, floating in medical fluid with the buzz and the overstimulation of dermal and internal regenerators at work. After such a brutal battle, Kabe knew that he should probably allow his ship's doctor and medical equipment to do their jobs.
But probably was not usually enough to force Kabe's hand, and to save himself the discomfort of throwing up whatever random objects would come from the nausea these machines forced upon him, he began to rip tubing and wire from his body and clambered out of the machine.
Drying himself in the medical hallway by the door, he quickly dressed himself and stumbled down the hallway, a small limp and clutched at his torso, toward the bridge. He needed to make sure that Bee was okay, and he hadn't seen him in the medbay.
"Bee!" Kabe called, the automatic doors hissing open as he hobbled into the room, one arm propping him up against the wall. "Bosss," Kabe heard, as his still-injured leg buckled beneath him, feeling himself falling before suddenly being propped up by his right-hand man, Nyaku. "Where's-" Kabe began, before a finger was pressed to his lips to silence him. "He'ssss fine, bossss. Let'sss get you back to the medical macchine. You sssure took a beating."
Nyaku smirked at the last words, but Kabe could tell he was worried. Slumping, he allowed for Nyaku to hold up his weight and began to follow him to the chamber. He kissed his cheek. "I don't know how I'd get shit done without you." Nyaku chuckled, air wheezing through the whole in his half-scarred face. "Given how often we're like thisss, I imagine you wouldn't." It was a nice moment, and as they walked down the hall, Kabe allowed himself to sit in it.
Then he remembered.
"Where's Dion?" He said, stopping in his track, the levity of their exchange suddenly dropped in favor of Kabe's rare serious side. Nyaku knew he wouldn't be able to get Kabe down until this had been seen to. Reaching into his belt, he brought out an emergency medicaid and stuck it suddenly into Kabe's leg. "AAUCK!" He shrilled in pain, and Nyaku laughed. "Don't be a baby. Follow me."
Together they hobbled down to the brig, where Dion had been placed after some basic tending to his injuries to make sure he wasn't going to die in there. As they approached the door, Nyaku stopped. "I'll ssstand guard. You do your thing, bosss."
Kabe smiled, kissed his cheek again, and headed in locking the door behind him.
"Dion."
