GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Hikari
ALIASES:
AGE: 17
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: Earthling (Human).
MAKAFUSHIGI ADVENTURE
Hikari has an additional 2 TP to spend on all of your Sparking Techniques.
MARTIAL ARTIST
Hikari gains Sparking Techniques every 70k PL instead of the standard 100k PL. She also starts with four technique slots instead of three.
TURTLE SCHOOL SECRETS
Hikari starts with the Max Power technique for free during character creation. In addition, Max Power no longer drains momentum per turn, but she can not gain momentum either.
GENERAL TRAITS:
Avenger
Once per thread, upon the defeat of an ally, Hikari regains all of her momentum. For her next three posts, all momentum effects are boosted as follows:
Power Boost - Additional +10%
Transformation Boost - Gain an additional +x1 per 150k base PL, starting at 0. Caps at +x3.
Mana Boost (Ki Boost)- Subtract an additional -1 KP from cost.
If a Companion is defeated and their base PL is not within 50% of Hikari's base PL, Avenger is not triggered. Guardians are exempt from this.
Anti-Sense
Hikari's energy is invisible to energy sensing and scouters, even in the midst of combat - this can be toggled on and off. In addition, escape techniques have a boost of +20% to their total effectiveness and her first escape technique per thread costs no KP.
STARTING PLANET: Earth
HOME REGION: Rocky North, on Earth
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
Source: Project Sekai, Colorful Stage.
BACKGROUND: Hikari was born to an impoverished single mother, Sumire, and an absent father, Jimmy. Jimmy, however, was not absent by choice; he was entirely unaware of Hikari’s existence. As a result, Hikari was raised solely by her mother, who was neglectful at best.
As early as her first year of school, she was bullied by other children, due to her clothes being 'ratty' at best. She was small and underweight (though not quite malnourished). Furthermore, her mother hardly seemed to care when Hikari complained. Socially isolated, Hikari would turn to hobbies which she could practice on her own, such as reading, and more importantly, music. Over a couple of years, she would continuously borrow different musical instruments from the school. Indeed, she would display such a talent for learning new instruments that some of her neighbors would donate some used, somewhat damaged instruments to her; a guitar, a violin, and a piano, so that she would be able to play even when school was out for the summer. As a result of this, she began to devote most of her free time to practicing all three instruments, and made sure to practice singing as well. She would make sure to practice outside where the neighbors could hear, and, once she reached a level where she could play some songs, she would make it a point to perform for them, out of gratitude for the gifted instruments. She would also enter talent shows whenever she could, winning or at least placing well in most musical contests she entered, leading to the birth of dreams of Superstardom, and an escape from poverty.
By the age of 13, Hikari was desperate. She was by then old enough to understand that her mother would never take the necessary steps to get the help that they needed, nor would she do anything about the situation herself. With no other choices available to her, Hikari decided to confront her mother, and find out who and where her father was. And she was not going to accept no as an answer this time. Though it took several hours of arguing, Hikari finally succeeded in getting the information she needed: her father's name, and what his job was back when he had met her mother.
Armed with the new knowledge, she proceeded to go to the police station after her next day of school, where she simply asked for Jimmy by name. Hikari was in luck; though Jimmy was not stationed in that precinct, one of the officers there was friends with Jimmy, and was able to guess that the girl who bore a slight resemblance to him and was asking about him must be a long lost relative. Hikari was soon introduced to Jimmy, and after a couple of weeks of talking (usually over milkshakes at a local diner), Jimmy agreed to a paternity test. Once the results came in positive, Jimmy sued to gain custody, succeeding without Sumire even challenging the case. Hikari had finally achieved her dream of escaping poverty, and gained a parent who actually cared about her life and feelings, rather than seeing her as a mistake and a burden.
With reliable access to full, balanced meals, as well as better resources to hone her talents, and not having the history in her new school that she did in the old one, Hikari thrived. She grew healthy and beautiful, which, along with her her musical talent, led to her becoming extremely popular. Even more so when a couple of her songs began to play on the radio. By the time she was 16, Hikari was making enough income off of her royalties that she had enough pocket money to satisfy any reasonable material desires she had. Among these a large (for a middle class teen) closet full of designer clothes, a brand new sports car, and a music area in her father's basement.
Hikari is greedy due to the poverty of her early childhood, diligent about doing what she needs to achieve her ambitions, and perhaps a touch arrogant (as a result of the successes she has earned during her teenage years). She is selfish, but not to the point that nobody else matters; she wants to see the few who are close to her succeed too.

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Light Offensive Technique || Sound Byte
Hikari's voice is her passion. A lifetime of practice combined with a natural talent for both music and magic allows her to project energy blasts almost as easily as speaking. Literally. Hikari projects a mostly-standard energy blast from her mouth (or, with slightly more concentration, from her hands). Pew-pew!
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: None
Medium Defensive Technique || Sound Barrier
Is Hikari truly panicking, or is she only pretending to? She'll never tell, but the trio of shimmering, vibrating barriers that appear between herself and the source of danger are telling of an ability to defend herself nonetheless. Incoming attacks which manage to successfully break the Sound Barrier still seem to be slowed as they break inwards, mitigating some of the damage she would otherwise sustain.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Barrier
Medium Offensive Technique || Riot Act
While she might not literally read you the riot act, the oppressiveness with which Hikari can spam vocalized ki blasts may make you wish she had! Though Hikari may not be able to spit rhymes quite as quickly as a true rapper, the power of each individual blast makes up for it!
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 3 KP
Variants: None
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Hikari does not currently have conscious access to her combat and magic abilities; I intend to have her discover them during RP.
Sparking Heavy Offensive Technique || Soul Surge
Sometimes, when life beats you down, you've just gotta belt out your frustrations and scream! Fortunately for Hikari, her screams can be imbued with the power of her Soul. Utilizing every Newton of force her Idol diaphragm is capable of using to expel air from her lungs, Hikari unleashes a Sonic Scream which is powerful enough to rupture ear drums and, should they be the main target of her ire, blast a foe backwards at the same time. Fus-Ro-Dah!
Power: 130%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Bleed, Bleed+
Utility Technique || Magic Materialization
Hikari is able to conjure objects or structures with her magical abilities. Larger or more complicated things take more energy and focus to create, but thanks to a familiarity gained by a lifetime of practice, stringed musical instruments and microphones are easier than similarly complicated items. This technique is passive and does not require KP.
Utility Technique || Presence Management (Ki Suppression)
Ki Suppression: Skilled control over the projection of her presence allows Hikari to suppress her Power Level to a minimum of 1 PL to either hide or use this lower PL to fight characters weaker than your full strength on even footing. This technique is passive and does not require KP use.
Utility Technique || Voice of the Soul
Music is an integral part of Hikari's identity, to the point that she finds it instinctual to use her voice and music for techniques. Though still capable of casting those techniques the “traditional” way, it feels more natural for Hikari to project them as she would her voice. Energy techniques cast this way sound like her voice, while beams might appear to fluctuate like a soundwave. This only works for energy techniques; Hikari must still use her limbs for physical techniques and standard attacks.
Support Technique || Max Power
Hikari may activate Max Power at the very start of her post, increasing the power of all of her techniques by +10% while active. Thiswill drain Momentum at a cost of -1 MP per postandprevents her from gaining MP naturally, using evasive or escape techs, blocking escapes, and intercepting attacks meant for others. She can only turn it off at the end of a post, at the end her second post after activation at the earliest. She will stillconsume MP andnot regain any MP on the post she turned it off on. If she runs out of MP, she loses Max Power's effects at the end of her post and cannot gain any MP on her next turn.
Additionally, Hikari's Beginner Transformation will be referred to as Star Presence. The others will have their names revealed as they're unlocked
