Age 922
A long time ago, on a planet a good ways away from here, a majin named Majin Kazam was born on a world occupied by the Acrosian empire. The once peaceful people of the planet had been enslaved by the seemingly unendingly cruel empire, forced to work and live in subjugation beneath them. Many among the people on this world had given up, believing that the superior forces of the Acrosian army could never be fought off or repelled. Kazam's adoptive family were not among them. The young Majin's earliest memory was accidentally stumbling into a resistance group's hidden base as a child, and ever since then he was one of their most loyal soldiers.
And when the base was overrun, when many of his friends and his surrogate parents were killed by the Acrosian army, he was one of the few who escaped the bloodbath. Avoiding arrest unlike many others in his rebel cell, he made a daring play. Intercepting and successfully killing the captain of a Jailer's vessel taking the rebels to a prison planet, and having one of the more...technically inclined prisoners disable its tracking system, the group flew off into the cosmos, plotting their return to their world, after becoming stronger in power and hopefully through the recruitment of like-minded rebels from other Acrosian occupied worlds. Throughout all this, the years of recruiting other rebels and committing acts of piracy against the Acrosians and their allies, the Majin was loyal to the Rebellion. He stood by them, and trusted his friends fully.
He learned he should of been more suspicious. One of their number, a Heran Mercenary named Mawl, had cut a deal with the Acrosians and sold the group out in exchange for a pardon for his crimes. He told the Acrosians where they could be found, and the Acrosian army sent a team of their finest mercenarys and soldiers after the Rebels.
The battle was long, and hard fought. Many of the mercenaries were killed in the fight, Mawl among them as Kazam was able to slay him with a Ki attack. But none of the rebels were taken alive, and none were able to escape. Not even the majin. One of the Mercenaries, some sort of Wizard it would appear, forced his very spirit in twain, seperating him into two beings before sealing both into two different enchanted vases, and sending both to the opposite ends of the universe on two comets. The rebellion was destroyed, and Kazam was no longer in one piece. Even now, his two halves remain seperate on opposite edges of the world, fringe societies that the Acrosian empire seems to want little with... And as far as I can tell, only one half can remember the truth.
Modern Day
"And that is why you absolutely must let me use this ship!" A tall, slender majin in a Green uniform of some kind with a golden lightning bolt symbol on his chest stood before an alien in a captains uniform for a local shipping company. "I can sense my other half! I know he's been woken up and that he's free from his own jar. We have to rejoin one another so that we can finally restart the rebellion and take the fight back to the Acrosian empire!"
"Look buddy, I don't care how many fairy tales you tell me about Rebellions and Acrosian invasions and backstabbing herans, if you can't manage to fork over the rental fee, you can't use any of our ships."
"Blast it! I need to make it there. To...to Zam! I need to...find Zam. Find Zam on Earth! FIND ZAM ON EARTH!" As the taller Majin became increasingly erratic two burly alien guards began dragging them off, in a way that made it clear that such a scene has become a regular occurrence over the last few months. If Majin Ka ever wanted to rejoin his other half on earth, it would soon become increasingly clear that he would have to come up with a different strategy than trying to hitch hike across the universe...
