"You can't change the river's flow by casting a stone, but live in harmony with nature, and you'll change together. The breath of life becomes wind and will always respond."
Those were the words spoken to her people by a mysterious cloaked stranger from beyond Planet Glass long ago... Whilst others sought to tear each other apart for what little resources remained on their world, even going so far as to accept or steal weapons of immeasurable power from those called the Arcosians, there were some who desired nothing but to end the cycle of violence...
So they stole a ship and fled Planet Glass long before it was practically destroyed by the others.
They wandered the cosmos for decades trying to find a world they could settle on, one free of conflict... But such a jewel was far rarer in this universe than any gemstone or mineral. Eventually they came to settle on one of the moons orbiting a massive gas giant. It was on this moon, that they would come to learn had been dubbed "Europa" by the inhabited third planet of this solar system, that Glainne was born.
And it was on this moon that the "Europan" Glass Tribe discovered a new way to empower themselves, and in a way live in harmony with the new nature of their home. Rather than becoming as stone and fire, they instead become more crystalline...
Glainne heard the stories of her Tribes ancestral home world, and whenever the ships and satellites heading from and to Earth passed by she would listen to the transmissions that would bounce off her homes icy exterior. The stories she heard, sifting through which ones were fictional and which ones were news, it instilled in her a desire to see what was out there.
She often found herself gazing up at the distant stars, wondering how many of those stars had worlds that were thriving, or dying like her peoples world had been. From the transmissions, Glainne heard about people who could try and predict the future by reading the patterns in the stars... And whilst she didn't quite believe that was possible given the nature of stars, the notion of drawing a kind of power from them for the sake of the future did find a certain appeal to her.
Her people had been saved from their worlds fate by the words of a stranger from beyond the stars, and so Glainne wanted to pay that kindness forward. And so, she made herself a pod and set off for the nearest inhabited world, that being the Earth.
