So, I learned some time ago that players can spend Zeni to have a new Sub-Board (not main board) found in more detail here: Player Boards Link
Bearing this in mind, I noticed that on top of having the board bought and paid for, there is also a monthly toll to keep the board active. Given that this is partly due to the Sub-Board being able to be made Invitation Only, I think a little more would go a ways for sprucing it up.
For example, what if players/factions that own a sub-board could generate something? For example, the Healthy Bean says it is mass produced. Well, what if players could "grow" consumables like that? For example, once a month, a single Healthy Bean or Healthy Beet would grow and be given to the player that owns the sub-board. If a Faction owns it, perhaps all members get a single consumable once per month.
Items that cost XP probably are not feasible, given the nature of how they affect a player in terms of the Malus. But simple consumables that are inexpensive could be grown. This in turn generates more interest in Player Owned Sub-Boards, and entices players to join factions in more than just name.
I imagined something similar, if not precisely the way you presented this. Glad that someone said it, though, as I'm terrible at constructing my thoughts. That aside, I would love to see this implemented in the future.
I would even love the rules expanding to allow Carnage threads so these boards could be destructible for the lulz plot.

*Nasu: lulu If you would hear an old member's experience, trust me when I say you get a lot of creative freedom and more flavor chances than what it might look like at first. It is okay, though. But if you choose to stay, you will also be welcome!
