Sunny skies hung over Central City this fine early afternoon. As two o’clock rolled around, people were in transit across all of the busy streets. Cars honked at each other as nonobservant drivers blamed the cars around them for their own mistakes. Busy and bored citizens alike roamed the cold streets, all dressed for the weather. One of them, a young Arcosian in a purple hoodie was currently humming softly to himself as he sipped from a cup of tea. He had just left class early to run an errand, sure that the faculty would be understanding. After a quick stop at a tea shop recommended by a very kind succubus, Heit had found another Earth spot to frequent. He wondered if demons ran this one as well, but would’ve rather not found out. Imagining that pleasant old woman manifesting a terrifying visage from a tear in space would be quite the mood killer.
Heit’s eyes darted over to a man whose car was currently stuck in a snowbank. His tail slowly unfurled from his waist as it slithered under the back bumper and hefted the automobile with ease. The man, bearded and grizzled, looked around in confusion as Heit subtly continued to move with the crowd around him. He sipped his tea once again, wondering how Earthlings would fare on Arcose if the snow was always such an inconvenience. The Earth was truly a lovely place as far as Heit could tell. Warm, cold, verdant, arid, high peaks, or low valleys the Earth seemed to have plenty of every sort of place to live. The versatility was exactly what Heit was looking for. Strange to think he had found this planet by accident.
Unseen by Heit or the general populace, a piece of… something from the stars beyond had just entered the upper atmosphere some two hundred miles and was headed for the Northern Continent! As it began to burn on entry, the strange rock pulsed with red energy! Instead of slowly crumbling away, it began to glow brighter and brighter, a stark contrast to the blue sky it would soon enter.
