As he licked at his lips, the saiyan creature managed to rouse roused his neurons from their slumber, and stave off the overwhelming hunger just long enough to regain a little composure, even if only a moment. A moment was enough, though. Enough to have patience and consider his next move. Enough that he could make the smartest decision he could make, whatever that decision would be while he suffered the intelligence his half-cognizant mind could muster with the animalistic persona of the Devourer still holding the wheel, robbing him of his personality and bodily autonomy.
He'd need to attack.
He couldn't let up. He knew that Dion wouldn't.
"You..." The pirate captain growled through grit and still bloodied teeth, still traced with blood from the blow he'd taken moments prior. Lunging forward, he scratched and kicked and gnashed like a wild animal. His moves were without precision or forethought, but the action itself was not. This effort, while taxing, would serve to help him recover his energy in the long run. And if Dion was getting as tired as he looked, it might just mean his hunger being satiated once gain.
"Stop wriggling!" He shouted, still trying to bite his opponent. "Just let me bite you!"

Dion was no easy target, but something about the ferocity with which the devourer had attacked made it easy for Kabe to lay several hits on his foe. Nothing that would cause serious damage, but enough that the sickening hunger was abated once more by the savory taste of battle-worn, ki-laden saiyan flesh.
But it was not enough. Kabe needed more, for justice to be served, and for this battle to prove his allegience to his family was enough that he would go all out when called upon. The Devourer needed more to prove itself the victor. In his head, Kabe felt the pain that Bee was experiencing as he attempted to recover from his injuries, alone in the trans-temporarly stomach they shared.
That feeling fueled him. Empowered him. Gave him the fury, the strength he needed for he and the devourer to become one, and the golden primal light he'd spoken of earlier to truly emerge. As Kabe stepped forward, his body was engulfed in an erratic, thrashing wind of golden hue, and his eyes turned pale and rolled over, leaving only the devourer in full control.
Charging it's energy into it's jaw, the beast enwreathed in holy fire lunged forward, maw beared, and crashed it's teeth down onto Dion's flesh aiming to tear something — anything — off of his body to make even the pain it's child was suffering.

A feeling of sheer self satisfaction flooded Dion's senses as he was able to finally cause a break in the mindless beast's near endless barreling of brutality upon him with singular, well placed cerulean coated blow- his left hand rocking the Devourer to its very core to the point where he could see even a bit of Kabe reeling deep within that thick skull of his. An iota of pride panged within his chest, only to be completely overshadowed by sudden realization of a more centered expression upon his opponent's brow. Looked like a bit of sensibility did indeed return itself to the other man's psyche, as despite still being beastly driven, the captain of the Jörmungandr managed at least a word or two before lunging forward once more. He was slightly disappointed with the continued rageful pace that he kept- no stratagem or combative expertise was here for him to take notes and adapt his own fighting style off of. Simply a wounded animal fighting its way back from its back being up against the wall. Considering he himself had felt exactly the same many a time before, the slight piteous feeling in the pit of his stomach that formed was something that was decently understandable.
Only for the pit to be filled up with a detached, objective-centered feeling of forward drive. Dion wasn't here to pay into Kabe's pity party, nor was he here for vice versa. This was their fight to finish, and it had gone on long enough.
It appeared as though Kabe was feeling the same was, as more and more of his Devourer persona began to fall off into the wayside, the man beneath the monster slowly returning to the surface with every blow expended. The sight only furthered the young man's growing confidence- once again his endurance had seemingly won him the day.
That was, until, Kabe transcended his current being.
The golden hue that now howled it's presence around the Pirate Lord bathed their entire arena in a brilliantly yellow glow, the aura acting like a baleful wildfire as ripples of Ki currents echoed across the landscape. The sheer strength and speed that Kabe now held shocking the originally quite confident Dion.
Was this yet another trait of Kabe's legendary status?
Was this, the strength of the Super Saiyan?!
A story passed down from generation to generation, and one his parents carried on the tradition of telling to a younger, much more imaginative Dion Haddock, the Super Saiyan's main signifying traits were that of its incredulous golden aura, and the unbelievable amount of strength that surged within the user upon harnessing it. Was this the myth now personified in front of him? Had Kabe truly managed to reign in the power of not one, but two of their peoples' greatest legends?
However, upon further inspection, and a bit of Saiyan intuition, something told Dion that this wasn't what he believed it to be upon first inspection. Kabe didn't strike him as the type to be able to harness both powers simultaneously, and besides, if it was a Super Saiyan, he was more than sure Kabe's appearance would cease to be as animalistic as it was now.
No, this was simply yet another stage of power granted to him by his Devourer side. A power still one that was not to be trifled with, as even as the relief set in that it wasn't the Super Saiyan, the unnerving realization of Kabe's strength now outclassing his by whole leagues worth of power hit him like a truck. And nearly as hard as Kabe did him, now, as the Captain's monstrous maw now took in whatever open skin was available to him from Dion- the blemished bartender's cries now echoing throughout the battlefield as he felt sharpened canines tear through skin, leaving lengthy lacerations all over wherever open skin was free to the air. Eyes widening with tears forming at the corners as blood bounded in spurts from everywhere he seemed to look, splashing fountains of red on both assailant and victim.
Nearly fainting from the pain, Dion raised a palm toward the Devourer, exuding one last Kiai in a desperate attempt to fend off the beastly battler and offer himself a brief moment of respite.
One that he would most definitely need. The blood loss now asserting it's damning effect as his vision began to nearly black out as it did earlier- not even the corruption at this point being able to sustain properly this ongoing clash of styles. Taking deep, heaving breaths, a coarse chuckle echoed from the beaten bruiser's cracked lips.
Watching now as Kabe's seemingly last nail in his opposition's coffin in the form of another mouth blast began to eclipse his entire vision, a sense of foreboding filled the air between the remaining two. This was it. The final blow. The end of what was supposed to be Dion's second, and final, charge against the winds of fate that forced him ever downwards.
Closing his eyes, he felt tempted to allow the darkness to overwhelm him, and finally end this mortal coil.
But, stirring from deep within, something forced the young man's eyes open- his heart pounding in his chest as he could feel there was something left in the tank to give. Body beginning to shiver, his usual black pupils suddenly burned with a brilliant blaze of blue, his whole being being encompassed in a case of cerulean brilliance, his power increasing in leaps and bounds beyond what anyone would have ever guessed a man of his stature capable of. The corruption taking ahold of him once more, the initially blue aura around his person then began to be muddled with a murky, purple looking inner aura, the sickness securing its grip upon his mind in exchange for the ability to keep moving forward. A necessary evil, Dion now came to find.
Walking in a staggering fashion at the similarly superpowered Saiyan in front of him as his power manifested itself in a pillar of light akin to that of the column that culminated during his entry into the conflict proper, Dion still took the oncoming blast in its entirety- only to appear on the other side of it with minimal damage, at least in comparison to the rest of the punishment already having been done to him thus far.
Voice now a raspy whisper, Dion could barely control himself long enough to get any words out as he spoke, asking in a disappointed tone as he stared upon the smoke that unfurled from his body, "Is that all you've got?"
"Fine then, guess it's my turn..."
With that, Dion would try and establish his dominance early on- his scream an ear wrenching amalgamation of ripping vocal cords as he charged toward the gold adorned Devourer, before attempting to slam a vicious left hand straight into the abdomen of the crazed consumer.
Legend or not, even Gods all fell eventually.
And Kabe was no God.

The vicious brutality of Kabe's attack was made clear as it landed, flesh rended and blood spraying before Dion desperately shoved himself back with a kiai, barely escaping before the beast was able to tear off the bloodied meat from Dion's still living body completely. In a last effort to put down his foe, the devourer had willed the welling energy in his jaw outward in a blast, which lit up the room and shattered several screens behind them, ruining the illusion of their jungle surroundings.
With his scouter off, Kabe couldn't tell if Dion had been consumed by the light, rendered incapacitated. The humane part of him that clawed to regain control hoped he had been. The devourer, however, was glad to hear the rasping voice of his foe, who had endured yet another attack and still stood against him.
The most dangerous prey always provided the most exhilirating hunt.
There was something different now. Something.... wrong. The animal in him, driven by instinct, begged to take off and flee. The monster in him fought harder for control, egged on by the sudden chilling feeling that the terrible corruption wracking Dion eminated outward. The man in him worried for his friend, beneath the heated emotions he wore at the forefront.
Parts of him were starting to calm, but they weren't yet strong enough to wrestle control from the beast, and so Kabe pressed forward blocking the blow to his abdomen and grinning ear to ear as he pressed closer to dion. "Fight harder..." He growled, itching for the feeling of being battered about by a predator, the game in the chase, before it would be ripped to shreds in gratifying primal victory.
From within his stomach, Kabe withdrew a rusted spike and aimed to drive it into Dion's shoulder like a spearman sticking a lion in a frenzied bid to survive.
No longer did the shackles of unsureness weigh Dion down as they normally did. Every action now holding a sense of assuredness as he pushed himself further and further into the source of the madness that consumed his entire being. The sheer strength he now sensed pulsing from deep within him as an immediate after effect exuding a feeling of pure euphoria, as though it was a drug that bore a most intoxicating high. How had he allowed such an experience to elude him for so long? This state of absolute control, of uncontested domination... ...it was one that he felt he could get used to.
Looking up into Kabe's awaiting glare, Dion's eyebrows raised in slight surprise. Ever still, the warrior remained the unyielding force that he had proven himself to be over and over again. It was a persistence that the steely faced Saiyan had to pay respect toward- such resilience reminding him of his own endurance in the face of impossible odds. But, still, he was no immovable object, while Dion could be considered an unstoppable force.
Put two and two together, and that was sure to make for a messy ending.
And messy Dion was willing to make it, as when Kabe attempted to drive him away with a threatened spike to his exposed shoulder, he used his free hand in order to divert it back toward the Devourer himself- hoping to slam it down into his back leg before driving a short, yet sharp uppercut straight into his lower jaw, aiming to fling him backwards a bit and offer him a brief respite to think things through. Strength was one thing, but, if he allowed himself to get too out of control, who knew what was to follow. His body overflowed with strength that wasn't meant to be his just yet, push the envelope too hard and he might combust right there and then.
Still, if he didn't finish this as soon as possible, Kabe would surely finish the job for him. So, rather than give the savage slugger too much time to reset himself, Dion would hop right back into the fray as soon as he was able, dashing forwards and sliding all around the Devourer. One hand keeping his balance as he slid across the greenery below him, he'd jump in from behind- hoping to slam Kabe down into the dirt with an overhand double hammer fist to the cranium.
Post by Captain Kabe on Sept 7, 2022 16:19:04 GMT -5
A loosened grip, a moment of surprise, and a deep pain followed each other in sequence as the rusted spike drove itself into the side of Kabe's right leg. "ARGH-" He yelped, spluttering up some bangles and jewels from his gut before a solid uppercut with the force of a battleship behind it rocked his shit into next thursday, sending him hurdling back into the glitching scenery once more.
Again, he struck against the dome surrounding them, more screens shattering and a few falling to the ground beside him as he regained his position, yanking the spike from his leg and throwing it aside before clutching at the gush of blood that followed. If he were himself, he would be very mournful of his pocket, and how much money and theft it would take to fix this room back up.
But instead, he was solely focused on Dion. In just as much time as it had taken him to gather a small breath of air for himself, Dion had already raced to close the gap and slid around behind him and was bearing down for a heavy slug mailed directly for his frontal lobe, via the skull. Kabe wasn't quick enough to react, but the Devourer was.
His head whipped around, and a blast of energy rocketed from within his maw, jaw extended wide and garbage spluttering up through the radiant light as the force of it stopped Dion's blow from hitting his cranium. Both the beast and the man hoped the blow would land.
Bits and pieces of metallic simul-tech now falling all around the two combatants in droves, Dion's murky, yet overflowing ferocity complimented the highlights of electricity soaring in arcs all around the artificial forest area surrounding them. He wondered if the exposed bits of mechanics would cause them any further turmoil than was already promised, but, he supposed he was much too far along the process to worry about such a factor now.
The malfunctioning mayhem birthed of their constant clash proving a fitting backdrop for the climax of their combat, Dion watched carefully as Kabe, Devourer, or both, finally felt the odds of the situation set in as soon as the spike did directly above his kneecap. Uppercut landing perfectly flush, the virulent fighter allowed himself a tinge of triumph to graze upon his expression as he watched Kabe's person slam against the walls of the simulator once more, the entire ship shuddering violently from the impact.
How much more could the vessel take before it began to fall apart all around them, was one other factor Dion failed to take into account before allowing the both of them to be taken so quickly up into the skies above the now concluded quarrel below. Either way, come Hell or high water, Dion was bound to finish this fight- and refused to leave it as open ended as he did with Zhalla back on Namek.
No walking out on a limp with this one.
Rushing forward, Dion had believed himself to have Kabe completely cornered. Unfortunately, his greenness now goaded him toward the path of punishment, as he had forgotten it was not only Kabe he was facing, but The Devourer itself as well- as it seemed to just barely come up with a counter attack of its own right as the corrupted cavalier aimed to dole out the final blow.
Eyes widening at the sight, it was all he could do to tank the majority of the attack face on- a pained grunt coming from the young man's mouth before he whipped the smoke unfurling from his singing clothes away with a single flourish of the now sleeveless arms, reeling back a furious looking left hand in response.
Hoping to blast Kabe away with a fake out Ki blast in place of the punch he was sure the pirate was expecting to come, Dion attempted to grab a hold of the other man by the ankle before he could fully be thrown to the wayside, aiming to pull a little sister type of attack and throw him right into the ground below- savage instinct overtaking any need to flaunt or follow any type of set fighting style.
Deep within, the (somewhat) cool-faced cavalier could feel something brewing, and he wasn't sure what exactly it was. All he knew was that the moment it came, things were going to change, and likely not in his favor. So, after entering a somewhat panicked state of mind, Dion continued his ape-like rampage, trying to ram Kabe through whatever debris and tree that he could find in their immediate vicinity.
Even at heart, underneath all the power he had gained, Dion remained the inexperienced brawler that he had always been.
Something that now bit him in the ass, greatly. PL: 220,000 - KP: 6/6 (+2 for post) - MP: 5/6 (+1 for post) - 124/250% - takes the entirety of Kabe's attack - Uses Non-KP Attack - WC: 575 - TWC: 10,529

Kabe didn't have much time, if any, to gloat about the damage his reactionary blast had caused. One of two arms singed by the torrent of energy moments prior was already whipping back, readying to lay the smack down with a mean left hook. Kabe braced himself for the blow, but was instead blinded by a sudden burst of energy exploding against his face.
"ARGH!" He spluttered, his head rocking to the right and shaking from the fizzle of energy that was evaporating across his features, a small puff of smoke revealing a wild expression as Kabe was once again taken by surprise, whipped through the air and smacked savagely into the ground below like that Osgardian prince in that one Revenger movie he liked.
As he was driven along the ground into half-simulated, half-real debris he was able to brace himself, gripping onto the fourth cluster and freeing himself from Dion's grasp before he could take another face full of metal and grit. Though it had stung, getting thrown around like that had given him time to recover some energy, and he felt the drain of gullet space on Dion end, his reservoir filling faster than it usually could.
Throwing himself back a couple dozen feet, he dusted himself off, wiped blood from the side of his face, and plucked his sword from the debris beside him as he gestured to Dion.
As Kabe gestured Dion forward, a gentle breeze began to whisk its way through the young man's ruffled hair- a sigh of resignation sounding off from the wounded warrior's lips as he felt his body ripple in somewhat agreement to what the circumstance now called for. The winds of change had finally swept into the fray once more, and the gentle balancing act of momentum that had been precariously ping ponged between the two Saiyan savages finally sought to weigh its final verdict. Dion himself could sense the slow, yet assured shift in momentum as it happened, his Saiyan instincts responding with what one would call a "second wind" of sorts- his strength and stamina momentarily rejuvenating themselves in order to prepare for the final epitaph that laid ahead the both of them.
Of course, putting all his eggs into one last ditch basket was a risky gambit. Things rarely ever went according to plan, especially for a person such as he- this entire conflict was a culmination of that proven philosophy. What with Amara suddenly calling it quits, Kabe beaming the both of them up from the main clash proper, and the realization of an entire pocket dimension within the Devourer's person also helping to compound the notion further that he simply was not fit to be any bit of a planning man.
A man with a plan he was not, but an adaptable one he was guaranteed to be.
And adapt to the shifting circumstances was exactly what he set out to do, immediately following Kabe's beckoning. Taking a deep breath, his body shuddered in response to the action, aura dissipating as he slowly unsheathed his blade for what he hoped to be the last time in this fight. Lifting the tightly gripped hilt up next to his face, Dion aimed the tip of the katana directly at the provoking pirate, focused glare emboldened by the flame of ferocity as his aura exploded in a cascade of blue and malignantly magnified Ki all around him, just as it did when he had first laid foot in the city streets down below.
His very blade becoming supercharged with the strength that now surged within the Saiyan's body, Dion wasted no further time on formality. There was too much at stake for him to afford to play these games with Kabe any longer, too many people that he needed to come home to- and one specific person he had much explaining to do toward still.
Exhaling, the corrupted cavalier readied himself in a slightly crouched position, upper half leaning forward before launching himself at nigh incomprehensible speed directly at Kabe, the sounds of his flight mimicking that of a roaring jet engine as he swung wildly, jumping from angle to angle, place to place all around Kabe in a frenzied, amateurish, yet all the more forceful flurry of cuts and sunders from nearly every direction. Unsheathing his katana with such unbridled speed that he appeared to be in multiple places at once- a gigantic, dark, frothy blue aura outlining and encompassing the entire area in its glow during the attack. With every slice and cleave highlighted by a blindingly bright blue streak of Ki that struck across the landscape like a hurling of lightning in the midst of a heavy storm.
Using the momentum from one particularly wide swing to land a few yards away from the central area of mayhem, Dion held his blade out, pointing it downwards in front of him before slowly sheathing the sword back into its cutlass. Crackles of Ki then crashing all around him like broken glass, eventually dissipating into the air around him like snowflakes in a winter blizzard.
Looking back over his shoulder, he awaited Kabe's reaction, as he suspected his body to act in a slightly delayed fashion due to the sheer intensity and quickness of the assault itself. However delayed it may be, however, Dion was more than sure he knew the outcome before it even came to be confirmed.
This fight was over.
For the both of them. At least, that's what the trembling in his knees now told him. Kabe was astounded by the power that Dion still had in his body. Whatever this power was that seemed to overtake him, the power that drove him to push this fight to the extreme it at reached and to the climax they were on the precipice of... it was something to rival the beast Kabe had learned to keep at bay. He watched as Dion began to unsheathe his blade, and readied himself.
This battle between monsters was drawing to a close.
All Kabe had to do was endure this attack, whatever it was, and he knew he could lay down the beating his muscles yearned for, knocking Dion around until some sensibility came through his skull and into the floating meat hunk within.
The attack was faster than he could predict. He barely saw the motion of the strikes, his blade vibrating with a repeating thrum as the tip or side of the katana glancing against wildefang, each cut spreading fire as it stung across his body. The flurry passed over, and for a moment Kabe wasn't sure if he'd been cut at all. He reeled his head around, looking toward Dion — he knew what was coming.
"You bastard."
He coughed, blood spluttering out as the attack finally enacted it's toll on his body. Cuts appeared all across his form, crimson spraying across debris as the remaining facets of the simulation finally began to fade. Kabe dropped to his knees, clutching at the spurting wounds across his stomach and chest as he curled onto his side, his vision blurring.
Here he was again. Where he and the Devourer first became acquainted. Bleeding out, alone, his face pressed against red-stained Durian soil and a monster bearing down on him.
"Fuck."
As Kabe's consciousness slipped, the ship began to rumble, jostling his limp body around. The crew had been watching, and they knew their captain was in bad shape. They were readying to jump the ship into deep space. His right hand man Nyaku, usually reserved and smug, hurriedly ran toward the simulation chamber hoping to drag Kabe to their medical bay.
He'd need a distraction.
He'd get one.
In the depths of gullet space, Bee could feel his father lose consciousness, and after a few seconds of lying limp Dion would see Kabe's body turn onto it's back, a cluster of random knickknacks and objects sputtering out alongside a furious insectoid child. "Hurt daddy! Make pay!" Bee screamed, fangs bared, driving his teeth toward Dion.

Even without looking, Dion could start to feel the burning warrior spirit within Kabe finally begin to die down at a frighteningly fast rate. The fountains of red mist that splattered all across the area of the simulation coating both he and Kabe in a thin veil befitting of the violence that they both had committed. Panting, the young man could barely bring himself to turn toward the now lying, and terrifyingly limp, pirate's person- his body laid across the jungle floor in a dead-like manner.
But dead he was not- despite how overwhelmingly powerful Dion had been in his last ditch effort, a mixture of Kabe's hardiness and the last remaining bit of kindness within the Saiyan's muddled moral compass kept the Devourer from being entirely consumed by the maws of death. It brought him comfort, but it was mostly fleeting, as even then he was still in near critical condition after the cleaving Dion had brought upon him.
Sheathing his blade, still wanting to keep it safe, Dion's aura dissipated for the final time this fight. He was now fully running on empty, and the various coursing aches and pains shook him onto his hands and knees- a concerning amount of blood now pouring out from his agape mouth. Sweat falling in near streams from his forehead, the young man couldn't recall a time where he had ever felt as exhausted as this, and prayed that unconsciousness claimed him before the hiccups of horrendous hurt could start again a thousand fold.
Visions blurred, senses clearly deterred, it was prime time for someone to take advantage of the situation at hand. And it appeared that Kay Bee was the boy to do it.
Fangs bared completely out, the son of the Devourer himself tore into Dion with relative ease, and naught a sound came from the coarse and emptied throat of the blemished bartender as he felt his strength be drained even further, and with it, the last of his grip upon the realm of the conscious.
Darkness overtaking him, Dion allowed for the blackness nipping at the edges of his vision to envelop the entirety of the world around him, drifting away into oblivion without a word or fight in his action.
The pain was over.
At least, for now.

Bee's teeth found purchase against Dion's throat, viscera spurting from the wound across his face and energy flowing from the wound. Like a man who hadn't eaten in a thousand years, Bee was overtaken by hunger. He barely noticed as Dion too dropped from consciousness, limp and defenseless as Bee gripped and dug his teeth in further, drawing less on the blood and more in the gushing river of ki that the strange magic of his stomach pulled from Dion's body.
But it wasn't just energy. With every kili of ki he extracted, a small fragment of something terribly foul hitched a ride into Bee's body and form. A seed of something that while nothing more than shards for the moment would grow into something else down the line.
Overtaken by the frenzy and the gluttonous thirst for what energy remained in Dion's body, Bee didn't notice as Nyaku rushed into the room, first attending to Kabe's body and panickedly ordering a squad of kabochan brawlers to lift him and drag him off to the medical bay. "Sstop!" Nyaku called, lifting Bee from the unconscious body and holding him still in his flailing for more.
"That'sss enough, Bee. You got him." It took a few moments, but Bee was calmed eventually. Setting him down, Nyaku checked him over, before lifting him back up to carrying him to the medical bay as well.
As he left the room, he clicked onto his scouter and turned back to look at Dion. "Boysss, let'sss get out of here. And sssomebody come get thisss guy off the floor. Patch him up, and throw him in the brig."
