Round 2 Team One Versus Team Five

"That's mighty high praise. Guess all I can offer in return is the best fight I can give you."

It wasn't everyday that the Empress of Arcose complimented him. Or, at least, it didn't happen everyday to Celerous in particular. So he allowed himself to take some pride in her words. Maybe a farmer wasn't just a farmer. Maybe there was a chance to make something more of himself. Regardless of whether or not that was true, though, he'd be foolish to dwell on that idea right now. Losing his focus for even a moment in this fight was bound to come with painful consequences.

He, of course, immediately lost focus.

Emperor Brumal's power spiked high, and Celerous felt anxiety build up in his core. He turned to look at his partner's battle, only to see the Planarian being chucked at him at high speed. Eyes widening, Celerous outstretched his hands to catch his partner, only for her to right herself in the air in a way he had never seen before. It was different from ki flight, but it didn't matter. As long as she was still in the fight.

"I'm alright, partner," Celerous turned back to his fight, "was a little worried about you for a second, but it looks like there was no reason to be."

The Empress asked if he wanted her to push herself to even higher power. He didn't want that, if he was being entirely honest, no matter how much his blood was singing for a fight. But he wasn't going to stop her- not that he could anyhow.

"You do what suits you, Empress! And I'll give you all I have!"

Celerous took to the air, in order to aim his next attack at an angle that wouldn't accidentally target the crowd. He held his hands out in front of him, and forced his Ki to coalesce with a series of grunts, burning as a dark red ball of energy an inch away from his open palms. It grew in size: from a baseball, to a basketball, to something roughly triple that size.

With a mighty bellow, he pushed that power outward, firing a red beam of energy down at Empress Ise.

Ise took a moment to get a good read on the situation between Brumal and their other opponent, Brumal appeared to have complete control of the situation still but the other fighter, Deca, seemed to have something up their sleeve as they released a rather potent feeling technique however while it was certainly something that COULD harm Brumal in his current state it was unfortunate that Brumal still had more than enough energy to counter it himself.

Once Celerous returned his full attention to their fight Ise likewise returned her attention to him opting once more to assume that Brumal needed no help dealing with his half of the battle, Ise could feel a bit of hesitation on Celerous’ end as he responded but to his credit he stood strong and made no effort to dissuade her from potentially using more power.

Ise was debating exactly how much to ramp things up by when Celerous took the initiative, he laughed into the sky and with every moment Ise felt his power surging higher. Ise inclined her head slightly as if looking at him, if only to make it clear she was not simply dismissing what he was doing as Ise felt his power reach what seemed to be its peak, rather impressively the attack he had built up exceeded his normal limits by a non-insubstantial amount.

Ise grinned as he took aim and launched the technique, the orb he tossed briefly keeping its original more focused size before rapidly expanding once it was away from him, Ise hummed to herself briefly as it made its way down towards her as the crowd’s excitement swelled with the powerful attack.

Ise rolled her shoulders as she let HER power surge, she could feasibly hold back some power but trying to pin down exactly how much to hold back would be troublesome in the heat of things, even with no restraints that attack would definitely HURT and Ise had already been harmed and if possible she would prefer to avoid taking another solid hit.

Plus with this show of power Celerous had locked in Ise’s interest in pulling him into the Empire if possible, now she could put on a bit more of a show.

Ise let the orb close in on her as she let go of all restraints on her power and raised a hand and GRABBED the attack forcing it to stop in its tracks as Celerous’ energy clashed against a layer of energy formed around her palm, with her free hand ise concentrated the rest of her power and stabbed into the beam using her hand to split it as she took flight and ripped through the blast.

Ise would inevitably reach the end of the blast, and with that she would reach Celerous himself, and with a vicious grin Ise would attempt to slam her shoulder directly into Celerous’ chest with all the remaining power she had after breaking down his attack.
