”It’s true, damned thing went missing that very night.”
Locals in Dharatan knew it well, unfortunately so too did some of the unruly ones. It had long been a victim to crime, like so many other places in a world uncertain of its bright - or dark future on the horizon. In fact, that was what Camellia had so fondly taken to calling the place herself, merely for the way the sun came over the plateau at dawn. It was a small town out somewhere along the Flower Road, one most known for its rentals, small goods commerce, and fair selection of produce. A place where the name was easily forgotten for how small it was, focused around a general store with a connected saloon popular with the travelers.
The bartender spoke to one of his regulars, and some tourist about the theft of a prized possession, the details of which escaped a konatsian too jaded to truly pay attention. She sat several seats away from the regaling of a night most strange, in which the server swore there had been no traces of a break in, over what few people already knew existed to begin with.
Cam was left to mull over her thoughts regarding the past several days, during which she encountered an all number of characters from every possible corner of the stars she didn’t even think existed. That all changed with the drop in of the Wonderbot unit, the arrival of those strange girls; Those unfortunate series of events with that group on the beach, and the pair that disrupted her contest against a foreign bully. It gave Camellia a lot to think over, to consider what the future might hold for her own tale. So many things were happening to Konats, for good or bad it was definitely changing, and it left Cam to question how it would affect her in turn.
Would things ever go back to the simpler way they were?
Camellia offered a glimpse to a radio, the broadcaster’s report to the ongoings in Lux broken by the static, all she could tell was that the damn place was a mess, more than usual, and it was best left avoided for the time being.
The storms that ravaged the planet had passed enough to allow safer passage from the sky beyond, yet all that had done was bring even more dangers drawn to it. The things she had seen in recent nights belonged in comic books, graphic novels, and other bedtime stories the kids were still so fond of. She thought back to that alien which had been able to keep up with Sage’s van, and the impossibly strong man she had witnessed on the beach that other day. Such impossible feats, all made effortless by individuals more than capable of doing more destruction and harm to Konats than anyone in the old rogues gallery had ever been. It had been several years though, things were bound to start stirring up during the tension of all this ‘peace.’PL: 8,000
