It certainly wasn’t the way Cam imagined spending her afternoon, after all it had been hours since she took the job from the merchant back in Dusk. They said some foreigner went and got themselves lost out in the woods, that they were expected to have been back the day prior, but the supplies rented for the camping trip had yet to be returned, and the vendor was beginning to expect the worst. It was the fault in the tourism business that had recently taken to boom in recent months, with more and more travelers making their way to the home world by the week. Camellia would admit there wasn’t another time where she could have seen more non-konatsians than in recent days.
She trekked onward through a glade not far from a break in the tree line, having taken to following some clues provided by some disturbed underbrush. The vendors paid her a handsome sum to recover the supplies, given how expensive they were to replace, yet the people missing in question themselves couldn’t be accounted for. The man said he’d leave it up to the insurance if they never came back, but it was absolutely imperative that the blond do her best to return his belongings, though she had been unable as to ascertain why that was. Cam understood to a degree, she wouldn’t want to become separated from the likes of her bow, Brilliance, which had been in her family for uncountable generations. If there was something with the supplies in which the vendor held some sentiment with, then there were truly no qualms about seeing it recovered if possible.
The konatsian stepped upon a fallen tree, taking a kneel as she crept up its expanse to loom over the break in the trees at the top of the nearby cliff. Something billowed just out of reach, which would catch her eye after a few seconds of being taken by the wind. Cam felt a brow perk before she reached out to snatch the item: a tuft of hair, or fur. She brought it close, took in the aroma for any traces of blood, before a deep exhale would fill her nose. Nothing. The elf would furrow her brow for the lack of production she was making on this find, before casting the tuft to the breeze. Cam sat there in silence, parking an ear to the winds as she took in the ambience of the tropical canopies.
Birds would hoot and caw among the foliage above, in the distance and in the close.
”Where have you wandered off to?” The girl would ask this softly to herself, barely a whisper among the sounds of the forest. Then suddenly, maybe a few cliques toward the beach, she would hear something. Akin to a wild beast making a sprint through the brush, branches would break, leaf would protest, and birds would take flight once more.PL: 8,000 | Restrained Might: ON
