Ticoga bristles at Mint's words. The more powerful Arcosian having taken the blow, and finally shown to have taken damage this time around, had given Ticoga hope that he may have impressed Mint. Even if this was only by a small amount.
Instead, it seemed like Ticoga's determination was coming off more like an irritant than a pleasing sight of drive and desire to achieve. Ticoga grits his teeth, irritation flashing in his own eyes.
"You aren't training me to give up, Mint." Ticoga replies. "You want me to serve you directly, and prove I have the capability to do so. If I just give up at the first sign of being outmatched, how would you consider me being worth your time? No, I'm not stupid, your Majesty - I know my limits; I know when I'm outclassed. But you demand my best, and I will not turn tail and run just because I cannot hurt you."
As the last words fall from his lips, Mint's power explodes forth, catching the injured Arcosian by surprise. The sheer force of the Ki as the Triumvirate Lord powers up in a near instant slams against Ticoga, sending him flying backwards. He manages to stop his own momentum, and lands back on the ground, staring at Mint's full power. It was a glorious sight - if not a bit stereotypical. But this was the power that enabled him to hold a position of power with two other unfathomably powerful beings.
"...That's almost it..." Ticoga mutters in a whisper only he could hear. "That is the power... it's almost there..."
His ultimate goal was not to simply become more powerful - such was only a step in the process towards his true intention - he desired to evolve. He'd heard legends of two Arcosians in centuries past who had not just advanced, but evolved their power in separate but deadly ways. Pumping up muscle size was flashy, but it isn't the evolution that Ticoga knew to be possible.
Ticoga approaches Mint, forcing his way forward through the storm of Ki pressure, and he drops to kneel before Mint, clutching at his injured shoulder and bowing his head. Hating himself for doing so, just after telling Mint that he wasn't going to just back down. It had been a foolish notion.
"I yield, my Lord." Ticoga announces. "I cannot hope to do anything against your might. I am honored that you would reveal the extent of your power to a low born such as I. I can only hope to have proven myself worthy of your training here forward."

Ticoga has surrendered the bout, knowing there was no longer a point to keep fighting.
