BACKGROUND: Amaranthe was born of an affair between an Earthling explorer, Lin Hansker, and a Saiyan warrior, Courge. The two of them met in the outer space, when Lin was trying to fix her ship that had suffered heavy damage from an asteroid impact. Chancing upon the stranded young woman, Courge elected to help her after learning she hailed from Earth. A liaison followed; realizing she was pregnant, Lin chose to return to her home planet, and the Saiyan went with.
While Ara has some early memories of her father being around - or at least visiting occasionally - she doesn't really remember what he was like, nor does she have any particularly fond recollections of him. Courge left Ara's mother when the girl was around three years old. It wasn't until she was twelve that she managed to get a straight answer out of her mother, as to what drove the Saiyan away. Apparently, he had heard rumors of part-Saiyan part-human children turning out incredibly powerful, and wanted to test it out by fathering one himself. However, Ara was a disappointment to him from the very day she was born - tailless and fair-haired, she bore no resemblance to the distinguished warrior race. It seemed that all she got from her father were her dark eyes. To his credit, Courge stuck around for a few years, hoping to see more signs of his race emerge in the toddler as she grew. Sadly, she developed like any other human - or perhaps slightly stronger than most, especially when upset or scared, but no match for even a low-class Saiyan newborn. Eventually he took off, never to return.
Such a revelation was bound to leave a major imprint on a young kid, and it did. The girl decided to turn to martial arts and become a powerful warrior, so she could one day find her father and prove her worth to him. She spent most of her teenage years training in dojos, learning from the best masters that would agree to take her in. At the age of sixteen, after having a falling out with her mother over going to college, she took one of their ships and left Earth, with a vague hope of locating Courge. Instead, not even three months into her mission, she got attacked by a group of space pirates. When they disabled her defenses and boarded the ship, it turned out they were Saiyans. Her momentary joy at encountering people of her father's race was trampled by their reaction to hearing of her origins. Ara was beaten to within an inch of her life, for being a 'filthy half-breed' and daring to claim relation to the 'glorious Saiyan race'. The sixteen-year-old only survived because a passing patrol ship scared her attackers away. She was towed back to Earth, back to her mother who had been worried sick.
Realizing that her daughter was still clinging to the goal of finding Courge, Lin raised some conditions. Ara would have to first pay for the repairs of the ship she got damaged, and then earn enough Zeni for another interplanetary vehicle, one that had proper stealth and defense mechanisms. Once those requirements were sufficiently fulfilled, Ara would be told where her father had set out to all those years ago, so she could get on his trail rather than searching blindly. After almost three years of doing odd jobs - from training newbie fighters, to participating in underground tournaments, to hunting criminals down for reward - Ara is close to finishing her spaceship and setting out, once again, in search of her father.

An old technique Ara learned at her very first dojo after becoming its star pupil, and to this day her favorite one. Holding her palms together, she forms an intensely glowing ball of luminous energy capable of burning away energy shields, and unleashes it on her enemy with a controlled trajectory. The drawback of this attack is that charging it to full power requires some time - although it can also be used in its weaker, not charged form.

A vital skill for any aspiring fighter, flying is something Ara has learned during her early years.
Utility Technique || Ki Sensing
A technique that allows Ara to sense, measure, and differentiate the Ki signatures of Ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher Ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Ki Suppression
Ara's skilled control of Ki enables her to suppress her Power Level to a minimum of 1 PL to either hide or use this lower PL to fight opponents weaker than her full strength on even footing. This technique is passive and does not require KP use.
