There was something in his mind pushing against a wall he had put up centuries ago, forgotten and ignored, but listening to Jagaimo talk it began to knock loud enough to notice for the first time in a long time. His hands moved down to grip at the arm rests of his chair as he looked ahead, tilting his head as it felt like a physical knocking, wanting his attention. Clenching his eyes shut he pushed it down and sighed, looking back to the Saiyan on his ship, eyes narrowed. Something had slipped through the cracks, and while it wasn't inherently malicious, it whispered just enough to give him an idea.
"Perhaps what you need is strong leadership."
It was a simple statement, but there was a weight behind it heavier than either could unravel, and given he didn't elaborate anymore than those words it was likely to be easily dismissed. For now he was quiet again, watching the Saiyan pace, something he did often enough to understand the meaning.
"Understandable. For a time I saw the actions of the few and painted your entire species with that brush in return. It's easy to do. It's not as if there is no merit to their thoughts given that Blizzard was only on Plant because of the former leader Azoth. It doesn't matter how direct he was handling Blizzard, nor does it matter if he had anything to do with what Blizzard did, the fact remains he was empowered by Azoth and came there with him. It was his fault even if not his order. Both are dead, so what happens next hopefully won't lead to the death of even more".
He truly didn't wish to see any in the empire or of Plant killed due to more war, even if he didn't hold true empathy for them on an individual level. Things were born and things died, that was the balance of the universe, but he didn't have to like all life or all death equally on a personal level.
"Again, understandable. Perhaps if I was here to intervene sooner things could have been different."
She was right, and he was aware of the anger the Saiyans had, and now that they had no battles to fight, no war to keep them occupied, it was unlikely they were sitting on their hands farming as Jagaimo had pointed out. The Saiyans were a warrior species regardless the depths of the stereotype, and they had an enemy to fight in the Arcosians. He wasn't so naive as to believe they wouldn't salivate at the chance for another fight.
"Wise beyond your years little Saiyan."
Standing up slowly he turned away and clasped his hands behind his back, gripped them together tightly as he walked towards the largest window and stared out at everything he could see.
"The Saiyans are no different than so many others in that regard; almost reveling in their own suffering. Earthlings, Saiyans, Namekians, Herans, Tuffles, Arcosians-"
Pausing again he turned back around and walked back towards Jagaimo, standing in front of them, but a good few feet away.
"- Sure there are differences, but it seems most species aren't happy unless they are miserable. This urge you speak of, it's stronger in your blood perhaps, but it's not isolated among your people. I see the way other Arcosians look at me, those wanting to test just how strong I am. There are times I want to show everyone how strong I am, shake everyone until they focus. Arcose will soon enough be looking to me as a leader, I promise this, but I am for the sake of the Saiyans they don't decide to test me as well."
