Unsurprisingly the journey into Arcosian territory had been fairly uneventful. The Arcosians took security and the control of their own regions of space very seriously and so few unsanctioned pirates operated around their planets. That's not to say there wasn’t piracy…just that it was often controlled by the Lizards themselves. Not many people were stupid enough to cross their species without giving them their cut considering how powerful they were in general. It was easier to pay whatever tax they implemented at the time rather than try and come back from the dead. Thankfully Jagaimo had warranted little attention from anyone of any real importance and the Attack Pods moved fast enough to prevent most people from even catching up to them…also there wasn’t really much cargo you could be smuggling on a ship that size anyway.
It had given the girl some time to reflect uninterrupted on what she was actually doing out here. The news of the war back on Plant coming to an end had been a welcome surprise and despite herself she found that she wasn’t at all disappointed it was finally over. The young warrior thought she would feel something empty inside her without the conflict she’d known her whole life still raging on but it just didn’t affect her like she thought it might. The Tuffles had been defeated, and by all accounts with minimum blood shed. That was a good thing for both sides, and while she doubted peace would be everlasting…there would be bad blood on Plant for generations to come now, she found that the idea of not being attacked every time she flew close to Tuffle forces gave her pause for a slight smile.
The thing that had bothered her though had been the news that the Arcosian’s had instigated an attack on the Saiyan’s capital, injuring so many when their warriors had been away on the front fighting a war. So many wounded or dead in a surprise attack no one had been expecting.
And now here she was on her way and landing shortly on Arcose.
Saiyan’s were known throughout the galaxy as mercenaries for hire and many had found their way to a place like Arcose where glory and battle went hand in hand so it had been fairly easy to get through any checks on the way into the space port. Her armour and anything that linked her back to the Saiyan Military had been stashed on Earth before she had set out and now she travelled light in her pod with just the clothes on her back and a few zeni to her name. Her story was a simple one without too many lies to trip her up…at least that was the thinking behind it…was that she was just a young warrior out to make a name for herself and join up with any mercenary company that would take her on. For all she knew her lie wouldn’t hold up but it was the easiest way for her to get planet side and start poking around.
For one she wanted to start chasing down leads on Saiyan’s and see if she could convince as many as possible to either return home or pledge their loyalty to the new king when the time came for him to call on them. Secondly she was here to see just how organised the Arcosian’s were and if they were really planning anything bigger than a simple terrorist attack on an unsuspecting populace…she needed to try and find out if there was more coming and report back home. The King needed to know so he could guide them on the right path, whatever that might be.
Floe Space Port was for lack of more creative words…Massive.
Jagaimo craned her neck as she walked, trying not to let the awe show to much on her face as she passed by the gigantic Elite cruisers, trading transports and luxury liners, it wouldn’t do for someone to realise just how new she was to this part of the galaxy and the mercenary life. These things shouldn’t impress her even if she was this young. Her story had held up under scrutiny so far but she’d met most of them with what she assumed was a menacing glare when they pushed too hard into her background and it had worked without any blows being thrown. She didn’t know whether people believed her or not, but what mattered was she was here on the planet now and she had a job to do…Just how to do it right kept coming to mind. Keeping up appearances was no doubt the first step…making contact with locals the next…
Now stood at the entrance to the landing bay complex she had been directed to, with the icy winds blowing around and whipping her clothes back and forth, the young Saiyan looked around for signs that might lead her onwards, her finger tapping the scouter at her ear to flip through the displays, tracking a few powers here and there…
“Now if I were a big bad mercenary…where would I hang out…”
