“I see. You are bold but practical. Good. Azoth was bold, he had grand plans. But he was not always practical. He did tend to use his strength as a crutch to get things done.” Or at the least perception, he would do such things. He meet enough people to know that it was at least a fear for some people like President Derry. Sometimes one perception of a situation could be far stronger than reality. When you had a few situations when that perception was reality then all the better. As for his why he knew much about Namek he gave a nod. “A fair enough reason.” But even was not aware of this on Namek. Brumal had his ears in places he did not. That was something he’d have to be careful about.
But his thought on that shifted as his scouter beeped which alerted to him that Brumal power had dropped quite quickly. Brumal even went on to note that while he was not famous he was not trying to hide. No, he just didn’t go flaunting his strength like a Blizzard and Azoth. Nor was he someone slowly being dragged from the shadows as Mint had been in the past few months. So he had been out this mighty being waiting for the time to return. Mint smiled lightly. “Perhaps I am paranoid Brumal. But I am a man who sunk myself into the darkest pits of humanity. I am a criminal by trade afterall.” Mint tapped his chin. “But that reminds me of a story. When someone I trusted broke my trust.” He mused for a moment and slowly approached the throne.
“When I was a young man my father ruled my business. Lord Bitter was his name. And oh he was a bitter man. I was not always the man you see before you. Just a young man who carved power but didn’t have the strength to do a thing. My father hated weak people. So he tried to kill me. That is how I lost my eye and my Bio Gem was cracked. I had to flee this world to the outskirts of space for years. All I remember was craving revenge. My own father tried to kill me. Someone I trusted greatly. Even if I knew my father was a monster and treated me badly, I never thought he attempted to murder me.” Part of that was lies. He had been planning to kill his father, his father got the jump on him but that ruined the point he was trying to get across to Brumal. “When I finally got back, I killed my father. I turned his head into a trophy. Because if anyone betrayed me that I had trust in. I want them to know that I will hold that grudge.” He left the rest unsaid.
On the Phakk issue, they seemed to be on the same wavelength. She was some trouble. Blizzard the same way. However, the chances Blizzard was lurking in the shadows seemed unlikely. “You have a point there. He didn’t take me as someone that was cunning. Strong yes? He is a great fighter. But cunning? No. He is the type of man to weigh his considerable combat knowledge and physically might do the talking. He had me on the backfoot when I fought him. Even now, I image a battle between us would be very tough. I’d have the edge I believe cause of my mind. But in term of strength he may of become the strongest of our kind.” Then again brumal had a lot of strength himself. Maybe Mint was truly number three. More reason to get rid of the bastard if Brumal decided he wanted a lackey rather than an equal.
However, what he had to focus on was the throne now. Brumal was not going to just give it up and rightfully was aware that Mint would not have bloodshed. He cracked a grin. “You have a point as well my friend.” Mint would stride around. Brumal would not give it up either would Mint if they fought what chance did Mint have. For a moment he seemed to be sizing up Brumal. Deciding if he could kill the man. Maybe. They were near the same level but he had no idea how Brumal fought. At best he calls it fifty-fifty. But there was something else if he did win brumal would most likely leave the empire. He then has to deal with Phakk. “No, see what i’ve noticed about us ‘evil’ empires is that the emperor is ineffective. He holds the cards but not the hand to play them. No, emperors are unwise. Especially if we both are too stubborn to give up. I want that throne. But I also need you in the empire. So we shall form a Triumvirate. Me you and Ise Wintergreen. She is nowhere as strong as us but her father was the former general of arcose and she commands the NSFW, they are some of the best soldiers in the empire. Furthermore, she is young. Not stupid but she does not desire power right now as much as we do. So while it may be the three of us she is not something that will try to grasp for power. As long as you remain the effective man you are I’ll share this power. We will bring the empire into a new age with all three of our hands being rested in history as rulers. So how does that sound?" Mint offered a hand to shake Brumal to make this pact official.
