It must have been close to 9 months since Rensou's scuffle with Rosemary and Zerori in the depths of a Tuffle lab. The purpose for this trip was the same as the last: guidance. Though the presence of those two Demons had left him unable to explore every depth, he was able to get his hands on a damaged scouter which had some mention of him, though he was unable to listen to it all; partly due to the damage, and partly due to the not wanting the others to hear. In the confusion of what was going on he ended up leaving it behind, and he could only assume it was still there, unless scavengers had gotten their hands on it.
Indeed, this area was filled with all sorts of misfits looking to make a cheap buck by selling whatever they could salvage. An old, broken scouter may have not gone for much on the market, but if someone got their hands on it and played back the message then they might believe that they've gotten a hold of some old Tuffle secret that could actually be worth something. As he touched down on the outside of the bunker he was reminded of his encounter with the two Demons; part of him wondered where they were now, though he was glad he didn't have to deal with them right now.
Walking down the steps to the entrance he remembered that the bio scanner was unnecessary as the lock had be blown clean off, and in any case the power reserves at this point had fully gone dry; the scanner wouldn't even start up. He couldn't feel any immediate powers nearby; none that were enough to worry him at least. It's possible that someone could have been suppressing their power to a similar level as a bird or an insect though, so he'd have to keep his guard up. Anyone he did run into was probably not a problem for him, though he expected that Saiyan soldiers probably did drills in this region and he didn't want to cause any problems with the brass.
He knocked on the door a few times, just to see if he'd get any reaction. He waited a few seconds but there was no sound or movement coming from within that he could pick up on. Feeling confident now he slowly pushed the door open and stepped into the laboratory. If he recalled correctly the room he was looking for was quite close to the entrance; maybe 20 paces forward, then walk to the left and that should be the opening. The environment was even more dilapidated than it had been the first time he visited; no doubt now that it had been stripped down a few times since then.
Before entering the main room he knocked on the wall a few more times; this was now a warning. If anybody was hiding in there then they'd know that the first knocking was not a fluke. In addition he lit up a ball of Ki to help light the way, and then shoved the door open. The place looking about the same as he remembered it, though maybe a few of the blasters he remembered seeing were now gone. The hope of actually finding the scouter took a bit of a hit as he rummaged through ever box, cabinet and desk he could, but then there, in the corner of his eye he saw it just laying there on the floor.
As he picked it up he noticed that the screen was now completely gone; someone probably stepped on it, looked down and seeing the sorry state it was in didn't even bother to pick it up. Rensou placed the old scouter onto the near by desk and grabbed a nearby screwdriver; he wasn't the best mechanic around but he was given basic training for this sort of thing. Placing his light ball over his head he spent probably 10 minutes tinkering away before attempting the playback once more. "Log thirty one-- i-INitated. Plllaaayback s-ssstared. PPProjject Attttomos is sshowing go-- signs of ppppROgress..."
There it was again; just as he had remembered. The playback device was heavily corrupted, though the system memory was intact. Taking off his own scouter now, Rensou carefully transplanted over the in tact storage device so that he could actually try and listen to this thing in it's entirety. With the memory swapped off Rensou did a quick glance around the room and then attempted playback once more. "Log thirty one initiated. Playback started. This is Mikan speaking. Project Atomos is showing signs of progress... but not quick enough. Those idiots are threatening to cut our funding if we don't show results!"
This was definitely something he needed to hear. "How many times have I told those fools that they need patience? They asking us to win the damn war by ourselves, and then they want even give us the proper backing for it? Atomos... he's not ready for combat yet. He's taken to mechanical augmentation better than most we've tried, but I fear that if we push too hard, too early then the weaving of biological and mechanical matter could be compromised. If we can just find a way to stall them for a few more months then we might be able to try it then, but any sooner could cost us everything."
