It seemed, after spending several days exploring the planet little by little, Nilen had finally found a place where things didn't seem to be in constant disarray. The desert wastes of Saiba territory were rife with violent 'wildlife', the Saiyan Capitol seemed to be full of tension and people just looking for a reason to exchange blows, and even though he hadn't ventured into the Tuffle region very much he had a feeling that it was swept up in the conflict just like the rest of the planet seemed to be. Nilen had been fortunate in his life to never know the turmoil and strife of war. His people had been so closed off and protected from the rest of the world back on Earth that many Earthlings still wondered if his tribe was even real or not because all that most people had seen of them was in stories and myths.
For Nilen to venture outside the tribe to an entirely different planet was a big deal for his people, and a very eye opening experience for Nilen. He had struggled not to be depressed at just how violent and grim this planet seemed to be. There were small glimmers of pleasantness and hope here or there, but overall it did not leave a positive impression on him. It worried him that other destinations may end up simply proving the mindset of his elders correct...that their tribe was better off without the outside world.
He sat on a large rock on the outskirts of Tarbel Village as he contemplated what he could do to find some good will or someone who wasn't here to take advantage of the war. Every spark of life and hope mattered. With such limited knowledge of Saiyans and Tuffles, though, his mind kept drawing a blank. It was frustrating, and only made him more depressed to think about. At least there were some decent people here, rare as they may be. Anyone who happened to be passing through the area gave Nilen very strange looks. He had his face covered save for his eyes with the same cloth wrap that he normally used to fend off the sand and sun in his desert homeland, but his big, fluffy tail was still in view. The cloth wrap around his head also didn't hide his ears' shape, either, so people could see that he was clearly not Saiyan and not from this planet.
