Two left jabs, step in, right hook...
These last weeks had flown by. Accompanied by Fend and Shoga, the latter of which had recently vanished without a trace, Terryn had traveled toward the distant planet of Namek.
Roundhouse kick, backstep, front-facing kick...
All he had done was train. Train to forget about what mattered most; The things he couldn't influence while on this planet. The safety of his home; His family, his friends.
Upwards elbow, step in, right knee.
Shoga had disappeared, too. Simply vanished into thin air, without the littlest of explanations. It scared Terryn. Saddened him; As apart from Fend, he was all Terryn had out here. There was a sick and somber feeling welling up inside of Terryn's gut. He missed Earth.
"Ssh!"
Quickfire.
Terryn launched a fierce and quick upwards kick, the same one he had been practicing day and night. Explosive Ki burst from his heel as Terryn's kick reached it's apex, brief yet destructive. The bang echoed across the vast plains, fading into the wind.
The Earthling grimaced, slowly retracting his leg as he remained perfectly balanced on his other foot. Despite how much he had grown as a martial artist these last few weeks, Terryn hadn't felt this awful in a long, long time. He couldn't care less about his abilities at the moment.
What did it mean when he wasn't around to protect those he had devoted himself to? What was the point of any of this?
"...This sucks." Terryn sighed, placing his foot down. The sweat on his body glistened in the blistering heat of Namek's three suns. His physique had become rather impressive after managing to keep up such a gruesome training schedule.
He briefly looked out into the horizon. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was just like any other day. Terryn's eyes slowly sagged toward the ground beneath him. He'd sworn to become one of Earth's Protectors. Someone that could shoulder the sorrow of the weak and defenseless.
He'd return to Earth a better man than before. One that was finally worth protecting the Planet.
"I'll be back soon," Terryn sighed out. "...I promise."
He turned his back toward the vast plains, and idly began walking back toward the village at which he had been staying. Maybe he could look for Fend after a brief rest. She could probably portal Terryn back to Earth. It's where he was needed most.Offscreen training go brrrr
