CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE -
BACKGROUND: If there was ever a word to aptly describe Almyra, it would be nationalistic. Born a high-class noble but spending much of her life as a devoted soldier, Almyra has developed a strong sense of duty to her people and country. Gifted with the Mark of Terra, a rare hereditary power within the Stoneblood line, Almyra was always destined to become a warrior. Cerro, Almyra's father, was a decorated soldier and highly loyal to the Saiyan cause. Celari, her mother, was once a low-class fighter initially serving under Cerro's command. The woman's combat prowess and fierce determination comparable to Cerro's own caught the noble's eye, and the two were officially wed before long.
The Plant War was still raging at the time, but Cerro and Celari were afforded a decade of leave, both out of reverence for their service thus far and due to Cerro's status as a Saiyan Elite. The pair had five children together, while Almyra was the firstborn. The Mark appeared shortly after her birth - a promising sign given that the last two generations of Stonebloods had failed to procure it. Supposedly The Mark was a remnant of a devilish deal, once used to secure victory for the Saiyans in ages past that had now been diluted and increasingly elusive as time passed.
Almyra, Jicama, Lang, Tepary, and delayed youngest child Luffa were all raised similarly. Cerro and Celari saw fit to instill a strong sense of discipline and pride in each of them, encouraging (but not forcing) the same emphasis on innate nationalism and tribalism that their families had once taught them. This line of insulated thinking originated from the Saiyans' position as invaders of a foreign planet. Other Aliens, the Tuffles, and any potential foreign intervention could not and should not be trusted. The only thing that you could rely on was the bond of Saiyan to Saiyan, or more accurately Vegetan to Vegetan, as many Saiyans had absconded from Plant to live different lives and were thus out of the 'tribe'.
Despite her incredibly unique status as both a noble and an inheritor of special powers, Almyra did not think of herself above other Saiyans. She enlisted as a standard soldier in the army at a young age and earned the title of Captain through her hard work alone. Tragedy would soon strike the family as Jicama, Lang, and Tepary all perished at a cowardly Destron attack, with Celari and Cerro soon retiring to command positions at the behest of the military commanders. While the duo still wished to fight, they were reminded that their expertise and experience would be invaluable and that they were better off supporting their still-living daughters. Despite the deaths of her three closest siblings, Almyra's conviction never wavered. If anything, it increased, determined to end the conflict in the name of the deceased and for the protection of her younger sister Luffa.
Despite the initially tumultuous political position of the Saiyans with an absconded ruler followed by a second faithless hybrid, Almyra remained loyal to the cause. The new King, Taori, had won his position fair and square. With the order to march on Hatchi City to end the war once and for all, Almyra was there to lead the charge of lesser troops to batter the outside wall. Despite intense odds, a Saiyan victory only made her faith in this new King even more robust, with Almyra wondering what the future could possibly hold from this point on.
