A forest revered as a near sacred place by some Namekians, said to be planet and cultivated by a previous Guru with his own hands. Irumu's father, as with many things, had a different view and belief of his own. He always mocked the Guru as a puffed up, self-important Namekian with a god complex that could do the same magic tricks plenty of other Namekians could do, and managed to become a politician with a religious following. He didn't quite buy into his father's beliefs to that degree, but he has heard it enough that just standing in the forest and thinking of the title of Guru caused his father's voice to appear in his mind with one of his ranting speeches on loop.
Though he didn't share all of the eccentric beliefs his father bought into and had no qualms about sharing, he did have trouble believing this specific forest held anymore importance than any other on Planet Namek. Irumu felt a deep connection with his people and his planet, and he didn't care who built what building or planted what tree; all Namekians were a part of the planet as much as the tree he reached out and touched his palm to. He had very much become a Namekian of two minds, split between the spiritual side of all Namekians, and the beliefs of the Mazoku and much more so those of his fanatical father.
The duality of his beliefs was shown in unfortunate immediate actions as he palm began to glow a purple color, and a line of energy flew out of his palm, slicing right through the tree and through a few behind it as well. Yes, the tree was a part of Namek much like other Namekians, but not every life was important to him. It wasn't as if he had anything against his people, but the act and action was something his father forced him to do at a much younger age, and it was an act he has since started to do out of habit. When you want to protect something you have to be willing to sacrifice things to do that, and in doing so you have to have a certain level of attachment and disconnection for said thing. To destroy the tree was nothing more than symbolism of doing that, as he knew the important of this forest, but to hold on so tightly to every individual tree could mean being put in the position to lose them all trying to focus on just a few. Destroying the tree was his way to detach, but it was still just a few trees, and whether he could detach in the same way with other Namekians was highly unlikely.
Despite the multiple times he had been scolded for doing so, Irumu could once again be found dragging two trees out of the forest to walk them back home as part of his training, but given the dozens of times he had done it, clearly the lecturing hadn't quite sunk in.
