Tambo's PL: Still 5k
It had been a while since Tambo had set foot on the Ajisa Continent. In fact, last time, there were tensions among the clans when it should have been a time to mourn the passing of the previous Guru. Alas, overzealous dragon clan members were quick to dismiss the presence of Mazoku clan members as blasphemy due to their different heritage. This time, he would have none of that.
Recent events had awakened a sense of urgency in the older Namekian. After taking care of Nero and Pankaa following the battle, he had been subject to remorse and guilt. Watching idly as his people fought and bled with the help of outsiders to fend off an otherworldly menace was the catalyst he needed to act. While he was no fighter, this was no reason to stand idly by. Whatever help he could offer, he would do it gladly. Not as a revered member of society, but as a fellow Namekian. In time, a new Guru would show itself to the people. In the meantime, they all had to act as one.
His presence was one that inspired respect but also worry. What were the chances that the Dragonsmith himself would leave his lair to walk amongst the people? In fact, every time he did, it was because of something important. Members of the Dragon and Warrior clan were not too privy to what had happened earlier so it would be a good time to tell them, with all the humility he could muster.
Waiting as the people slowly gathered, he exchanged pleasantries with the elders. Apparently, the dust had settled since the last coup and people were finding a semblance of normalcy. He did feel a bit of guilt about what he was about to tell them.
“My brothers and sisters…” he said, raising his voice, his tone remaining calm and soothing. “I come bearing news of what just recently happened in our very own world. It brings me no joy to say this, but the Mazoku in the Northern Scar have been subject to two usurpers who tried to claim their land and lead them. These strangers from a far-off world attempted to rule over our own people to accomplish their somber designs. If not for heroes of our world and beyond, we would not be sitting here today, casually enjoying our daily lives. Young Nero and Pankaa, children raised on Namek, stood against impossible odds to ensure that the planet would not succumb to evil. With them, heroes from outside our world, to whom I will be eternally grateful, successfully defended Namek. If any of them happens to be present here, I would invite them to join me so they can be properly thanked.”
There was initially a bit of concern, which faded away as soon as he mentioned the ultimate victory. He closed his eyes a little before reopening them, determination in his eyes.
“Yet, right now, I want to speak to all of you. Bystanders and onlookers, normal folks and myself alike. We have let ourselves open to these attacks, uncaring of what may happen. With the recent departure of our Elder Guru, we’ve tried to stick to the old times, thinking the storm would pass. Yet, within the last year, we have faced turmoil many times, from our own as well as others. This time, I wasn’t there to help protect Namek. I’ve felt great shame in myself, thinking it was not my duty to ensure the survival of our homeworld. I’ve let youngsters take up the mantle, let them get wounded for our sake. I have decided that no longer I shall remain idle. My plea to you, the people, is that you would do the same, in your own way. Help each other, reach a hand out to your kin and your friends. Shower them with love and care so we may all prosper together. Respect each other and in turn, they will respect you. We may have different values, different ways of living, but fundamentally, we are of one soul. Everyone of us looks up to the same, our lord Porunga. Whether it is the Dragon Clan, the Mazoku or the Warrior clan, it doesn’t matter. Whether we share the same blood or not, it doesn’t matter. We are all Namekians. And when a new danger threatens our planet, as long as we stand together, we will not fall.”
He joined his hands in prayer, closing his eyes. This was his plea to his people, an ultimate attempt to rally them behind a single banner. If all three clans would see each other as people rather than in terms of clans, everything would be much better. They could all benefit from each other’s expertise and when facing a threat, their combined knowledge could overcome any and all obstacles. This is what he believed.
“In due time, a new Guru will rise to guide us. In the meantime, it is up to us, the people, to make sure we are worth their presence. Keep the Namekian unity strong, keep being good and compassionate. But also remain fierce and proud, for it is all of this that makes the Namekian people strong.”
He grabbed his hammer and held it high in the air. “I will be the first to lead by example. This sacred tool was meant to forge and craft in honor of Porunga. Now, this very hammer will defend and protect the planet for now and generations to come.”
The markings engraved in the hammer started glowing a golden color as he finished speaking.
