Ah, the salty air of oceans. How Suki didn't like it at all. Seriously, her lungs were used to the milder and saline-free winds of the East, not whatever this cough-inducing shit was. "Fuckin' Hell." Affei looked over at Suki with a small smirk, breathing in deeply and exhaling in the slowest, most irritating way possible. "Ahhh, feels nice to be back in the South. Really puts a spring in my step, you know?" Suki coughed again, rubbing her irritated throat with a vengeance. "Affei I swear to Kami I'll dunk you in the damn ocean, shut up." Shrugging, the Konatsian's smile hardly lessened even after the threat. "If you want to one day take part in the Budokai you'll need to get used to the air. Tournament won't care if you don't like a little sodium chloride in your air intake."
She was right of course, and that made it all the more annoying. "Yeah yeah, fuck off. Lemme suffer in peace at least damn it." They were here for the event of the open ground, a month-spanning affair that allowed prospective fighters a chance to get accustomed to a real tournament experience. Just minus the massive crowd... and prizes. There would still be spectators and behind-the-scenes bets of course, but nothing on par with what the actual Budokai would bring in. Suki had signed up as one of the free fighters for arena three. It was a smaller side stage used for training, set aside from the main building which housed the actual legendary platform.
Oh well, she'd work her way up to begin on that stage eventually! "Looks like there's already someone wandering around inside," Affei noted, ears twitching slightly. "They seem a bit weaker than you but strong enough to maybe pose a challenge for once." Suki would look up, focusing her own sensing before landing on the mystery fighter and getting a wide grin. "Good enough for me! I'm going in. You gonna watch?" Nodding the blue-haired woman would move towards the spectator entrance. "From the bleachers, yeah. I already bought a bag of peanuts so I'm damn well gonna eat 'em."
Suki would enter the grounds and step up unto the stage, meeting her prospective opponent with a fierce but friendly glare. "Hey there, you got assigned to arena three too right? Wanna go a round!?"
