There was no need for a convoy. No armored cars, guards, or any sort of security backed up the nondescript cherry-colored van peacefully rolling down the streets of Central City. Gray himself sat quietly in the dark, hands kept still atop his legs. After all, what risk was there in transporting something that had instilled obedience and could be killed by the wayward press of a button? The 'human', as that's what his creators liked to call him still, had exactly zero chance of becoming a turncoat or fleeing in any capacity as it stood. Fifty-Seven was the official designation. The first prototype worthy of not being snuffed out at 'birth' was not exactly an award-winning title.
Gray sighed. To be blunt, the car ride was rather boring so far. Sure the purpose was so he could be pawned off to a crime lord to do dirty work, but sitting in the dark with only a crack of light and constantly hitting bumps was getting grating. The bio-weapon had taken to counting in his head aimlessly to pass the time. He had just hit forty-one thousand five hundred and six when the van came to a more abrupt halt, unlike the ones it usually had to take at stoplights. Gray paused, listening closely as muffled voices came from the driver and their partner.
Shifting impatiently, Gray's mind wandered a bit. What was the new boss going to be like? A replacement to the cold, sterile emotionless scientists could only be a good thing. A hot-tempered big man who barked orders? A sly mastermind with a devilish laugh? ...Perhaps he'd been soaking in too much exposure from secondhand movies seen only through gaps in his cell. The door to his mobile prison opened, the lead scientist - Ludwig von Brautwurst - standing with a small sneer. "Out and stand at attention, fiftee-sven." The man's accent was grating. It'd be good to not have to hear it anymore.
Gray was silent as he stood, hopping out of the car as his head bumped the top on his way out. Not like it hurt much. Brautwurst seemed a bit irritated at the action, though: "Und make yourself prehsentable, ja?" The assassin-to-be simply stared back through his red-tinted goggles, as if silently challenging the man. Breaking eye contact Gray would use the opportunity to look around. They were an indoor garage of some kind in a facility. ...That wasn't much to go on, but it was interesting enough to know that they were indoors already. Of course, you wouldn't want to hand off an armed and dangerous lackey to a crime boss in broad daylight.
