For those players who have died. 4 months is a really long time for those who are active, and 8 months is even longer for those who aren't active at all. Which means, this should be considered 100% in mind.
Archive way out shouldn't be the only option
For those who stay dead, they are given a 80% way out if they dont want to stay in Otherworld at all. or 60% if they tried to exploit the system. Now archive shouldn't be a means to escape AL at all. It should be left as an option not a favored choice.
Allowing Xp Solos for those who are dead, gives them more options other then... "lets hope a shinjin, or an oni threads with me." because that won't happen and if it does, it would most likely be for one thread. and since we are there for 4 months, that won't cut it. Allowing an Xp solo, even if its far less in terms of how many we can do a week, or how less we gain through the Xp solo route. Its an option that can help dead people feel like they don't have to leave their character in the AL for 4 months while working on another character. Because ultimately leaving them doesn't help them gain xp at all and when they do decide to come back after 4 months. They won't be far behind the others who are alive.
Make AL an option to stay, not a choice to go for a more favorable road.

XP Solos will not happen in any form.
We made it clear that the AL would get a bit of extra work once we had people there for it to be relevent (in general it was not intended that there would be much death by this point due to how AT's are structured) it will take a bit of time for the extra bits to be developed and such, regardless though this will never be a thing.
Grinding out solos, even for XP, isn't very engaging to most players, and prooobably wouldn't help too much with activity or encouraging people to stick around in the Afterlife. Even on Turbo and Souls when solos did give XP, not a whole lot of people bothered with them since writing with other players was more fun and favorable.
In regards to the activity requirement to escape the Afterlife, posting on alt characters still counts for reducing your time up there. You don't have to post with your dead character specifically to count for it, you just have to be active. The direct quote from the Wounds, Death, and the Afterlife page specifying this is as follows:
However, each month you remain active on the site, you shorten this by one month -- to a minimum of four months. This can include activity on alternate characters, but you should try to continue posting on your dead character if there are available threads.
Solos are zeni-only now to disincentive grinding, and I think they should stay that way. A better solution in my humble opinion would be to improve accessibility to Otherworld for characters that aren't Shinjin or Oni, a la the Heckway and Mount Five Element mechanics back on Turbo, but less restrictive. Your character should progress from their connections with others, and it should stay that way even in the Afterlife.
