It feels good to be back in HQ.
Campaigning for the presidency for so long has made Derry forget the comforts of being within HQ, even if it's only recently been repaired after Kon's attack. Derry has taken the liberty to sit around in his brand new office and count whatever bills he's managed to collect over the past few days, stuffing some of the stacks away in one of the desk drawers. He does wish that Hazel was around, especially since it looks like they have plenty of alone time at the moment, but alas she's still investigating those damn demon hunters. He just hopes she's doing alright.
Now that he thinks about it, Kon was supposed to return to HQ today and report back about her more recent behavior. He hasn't seen too many bad reports, mostly other goons coming back with bruises, but it's a step in the right direction. Though ever since Yangcong went awoll and put all of his focus on the war with Plant, ignored orders, and started to lose him money, he needs some new blood in the Dirty Snakes. Perhaps he needs to set up some more recruitment campaigns, though maybe those need to wait until he becomes president.
Regardless, Derry sits in his office, counting up the last of his bills while looking at the nearby stack of papers. He would tell Kon to do the paperwork for him to accept her back, but it's not like it's her strong suit. No, he might have something else in mind for her, something that's far closer to her own style. She's done a bank heist before, and though she did fail Derry's curious about whether or not she could pull it off, except with backup... and on the road.
