WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LUMINS
Fend's PL: 1 (40k base, suppressed)
"Remember this... THIS is just an ounce of the pain you caused to all of those people!"
A blinding light coursed through the skies of Earth's southern desert. A tremendous surge of ki cut through the sky and the sands, digging deep into the desert. Beside the crater where a corrupted Shinjin committed a massacre was a stain of sand turned to scorching hot glass, a mark of retribution upon the murderer. But just as quickly as the pillar of light tore through the arid skies of the desert, it faded, along with the being who unleashed it...
That had been an hour ago.
...
...
"Urgh..."
Fend's vision was nothing but a haze of colors and vague shapes. She tried to pry her eyes open, but it was too bright. Every part of her body was in agony. It felt as if someone was driving a stake into her shoulder, and her right arm was covered in needles. The burn on the side of her stomach was left agitated by the desert sands as the masked swordfighter struggled to push herself upright.
"W-wha... where..."
After a few moments, her memories started to return. Fend shuddered as she recollected the horrors she'd just witnessed, the lying monster she'd just fought off. The stains of blood, the piles of bodies slain like cattle, and the smell of death. Oh god, that smell...
But there was also the memory of the burning pain creeping up her arms, the burning power she didn't know she possessed being unleashed onto the killer. That strange feeling of some presence lingering over her in those moments. It all made her head spin more than it was already.
"Hffff...." Fend wheezed. It was still unbearably hot. She managed to push herself up with her elbows, cracking an eye open to glance at her surroundings. She'd teleported herself to an oasis in the desert, and had collapsed right beside the waters near a small, rocky cave. Palm trees and cacti surrounded the cool water, while dragonflies idly buzzed about. She thought she could see a few vultures circling above her wounded form...
Taking a deep, raspy breath in, Fend managed to get herself onto her knees. She was far more exhausted than she was wounded. Most of her injuries had been concentrated onto her right arm. The entire limb laid limp at her side, her pale yellow skin charred a nasty black from the deep burns. She reached her uninjured arm up to her face. Good, at least her mask was still intact...
A violent bout of coughs broke out of her throat. It was too hot. At this rate, she'd collapse again from heat stroke. Fend grabbed her sword, using it as a crutch as she managed to limp into the cave nearby, before collapsing back onto the earth.
It was still uncomfortably warm in the tiny cave, but merciful compared to the desert heat outside. Fend finally managed to fully open one eye as she propped herself into a sitting position, glancing outside. In the far distance, she could make out parts of the desert that had turned to glass from her attack. A weak chuckle escaped her lips. She was definitely going to have nightmares about the grisly sights she'd witnessed today, but that huge attack was the coolest thing she ever did.
"Gah--!" Fend yelped in pain. There still was the issue of her burnt arm, battered body, and complete exhaustion though. There was no way she could muster enough ki to teleport back to Korin Tower, and her ZPhone surely wouldn't have any reception all the way out here.
...If there had been anyone around who could sense ki, surely they would have sensed the ungodly power of her attack. Or at the very least, perhaps someone sane had seen its glow? That was the only hope she had to work with for now. Gathering a small ember of ki in her hand, Fend threw the little orb into the air, hoping to use it to try and attract attention.
Fend closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. She just had to stay conscious...Fend's Utility Technique, Ki Masquerade, hides her Ki from feeling like a Shinjin's!
Ki Suppression is also is activated to lower her PL to 1 due to injury.
