As the smoke cleared, Matoto STILL stood strong, his crossed arms lowering to reveal that hard-featured face of his, barely scuffed by the blast! OH how his durability got under her skin, if only a little smidge! She had gotten SO STRONG and stuff and STILL the sayain was eating her attacks if it were only an unappetizing breakfast! Sure, he looked... uncomfortable when her attacks struck him, but he hardly seemed bothered by them at all! Maybe he was JUST that tough! Maybe all sayains were when they reached her level... Or maybe Matoto was just that bullheaded and charge-ahead-ee that he didn't notice how much he was smarting! Whichever it was, the majin would stand firm, raising her fists, ready to engage again! The sayain, though, would take this moment to assure Liari that he was, in fact, on the side of his fellow monkey-men! She smiled at that, nodding in approval! OF COURSE HE WAS! He'd be STUPID not to be! In fact, so stupid, the majin might just've had to slap more sense into him than, like ANYONE she'd ever meet!
...But then, seemingly in contradiction with his allegiance, Matato would question if the Tuffles really WERE as bad as Liari had claimed, remarking that they might not even DESERVE the death that all evil-people deserved! Liari's eyes narrowed, her head tilted as if not believing what she was hearing. Didn't he know...? Didn't the other sayains tell him how BAD Tuffles were? Rosemary said how MEAN and EVIL their technology was and how they were a BLIGHT on the sayains so... Why wasn't Matato FROTHING-AT-THE-MOUTH to take them out?
"They hurt sayains, stupid! That not bad enough?" Liari questioned, her mind WHIRLING at a million-miles-a-minute to make sense of Matoto's seemingly uncharacteristic reluctance to fight them! So fast was her mind racing, in fact, the little blue girl was starting to feel a wave of vertigo come over her, the majin tilting her head gradually in the other direction to compensate!
...Did Rosemary lie to her? Or... Maybe she forgot to tell her something about the Tuffles...? Liari's lips scrunched up and her eyes flicked in ALL SORTS of directions as her face took on an expression of disorientation, not quite being able to grasp the two possible truths she was told! Matoto wasn't dumb... not really... but Rosemary wasn't either! So... so why were they telling her two separate things?
Before she could question him further, the sayain would rush in for his attack, throwing a SHARP punch at Liari's face, which she quickly caught between two hands! A high, sweeping kick would follow to connect where his fist could not, the little blue girl leaning back SHARPLY to avoid it, his heel clipping the tip of her jaw! Well, his hand seemed to come out of nowhere the next moment, reaching behind her head to grab hold of her neck and tentacles! Liari's eyes widened, her arms flailing WILDLY as Matoto picked her up... then THREW her FACE-DOWN against the earth, the little blue girl letting out a soft groan as her attacker SHOT UP into the sky! Shaking the pebbles and dust out of her head, Liari would rise, her hand casually BACKHAND-SWIPING the first of many energy-blasts away as she stared up at the sayain!
"THIS TRICK!? EASY COUNTER!" Liari boasted, holding her hands out in front of her! When the next blast connected with her hands, the majin would hold it there, the third SLAMMING into the one she held, FUSING into it and swelling larger! As more of the energy-shots rained down, she caught more and more of them, the ball of Matoto's ki growing bigger and bigger until Liari herself was sweating with effort just holding it!
"HERE! HAVE IT BACK!" She screamed, HURLING the massive energy-sphere back up at Matoto! DASHING up at him the next instant, she would appear behind the sayain, fist cocked back, ready to punch!
"...Why you say that?" She questioned, referring back to his opinion on sayains. "You their enemy... but you say they not bad..." She would then throw her punch at his gut, aiming to KNOCK him into his own energy-sphere!
