Storms were not uncommon in the tropics. Doubly true for the oceanic body that Sashimi City found itself directly adjacent to. The main island was the recipient of more storms, floods, and typhoons than any other place on the planet. The denizens had, of course, long since adapted to such natural disasters. Flood barriers, storm drains, and buildings reinforced through and through with weatherproofing. ...Luckily today it was just a rather harsh downpour. It wasn't necessarily pleasant for Blue, given that the teen was currently huddled under a flimsy umbrella in the middle of an alleyway in an attempt to escape the deluge.
It wasn't entirely effective given the poor, soaked state of his clothing and hair. Trying to sleep with all the wetness and ruckus wouldn't be easy either, so unfortunately it looked as if Blue would have to ride it out in discomfort. That was alright though. At least he had what little reprieve present from nature. Crouching next to the side of a can, huddled close enough in a somewhat fruitless attempt to protect himself as much as possible. "Rain rain, go away, please come back another day..." The boy's soft voice was easily drowned out by the rain, but quietly singing the old nursery rhyme helped give some sort of comfort and goal to pass the time.
That had been the plan up until a clear, bloodcurdling shriek ran out from nearby, startling the boy into dropping his umbrella for a moment. Quick to fetch it and swing the tool upwards once more, Blue paused and looked around the alleyway, unsure of what to do next. A scream like that meant somewhere was hurt or in danger, but with no way to contact emergency services and no context to the situation, it surely wasn't wise to just go and try and stick his nose in things right? ...That sentiment, while logical, didn't sit quite well with him at all. "Golly..." It was now or never, and with no small amount of trepidation the boy stepped out unto the early morning streets currently being pelted with sheets of rain.
"Hello?" Their voice rang out a bit louder against the backdrop, hands clutching the umbrella handle a bit tighter. "Does someone need help...?" It couldn't possibly be anything that bad, right?
