The scenery was magnificent, the trimmed grass, the sunset now setting, the owls singing, and the palace that held old century looking knights roaming the castle perimeter. Standing on a fairly large size hill that overlooked the town and the gigantic palace that made the town look more better in looks. Gabu stood on the edge of the hill with both his hands to his hips. he wore his red crimson colored mercenary outfit. He took a deep inhale and exhale as he pulled out his tablet. He was nervous indeed of doing such an assignment, however the contract he was doing was a simple one. He was going after the golden lion statue that the client had stolen from him by the king and his royal knights.
He wanted it back and who better to call then Gabu the Great! Gabu was lucky to have his broker call him in since he was already struggling with money to begin with. So Gabu did what Gabu does best, take a job that offered a high amount of money and then be set for months on end until he needed to take another job. Gabu was able to sneak his way to the palace perimeter and made it to the palace's side building and started to climb the walls, using his hands and feet that were naturally sticky. Unlike most thieves that needed to use the rope and hook tactic, he didn't need it.
As he climb into the opened window, he found his way to the room with the golden lion and stole it! After stealing it, he found his way running outside of the main entrance of the palace and now was running through the town with the golden statue in hand. The knights were chasing right behind him! Hopefully no one else would be on his tail!
Thread's PL: 10,000 As the sun was setting on yet another day spent on Earth, Tiamat was wandering the mortal world, looking for some occasion to make herself useful until the next big thing happened. It was looking increasingly plausible that she would have to get involved on Plant, but Earth was just such a nice place, she felt a little bad to leave it. Besides, there were just so many people to help her, and the whole planet had this kind of 'easy zone' feeling to it, no major conflicts or whatever, outside of the Budokai, and that had wrapped up just a few days ago.
While crossing a town, one that looked just like the past 4 she visited aside from the massive castle overlooking it, she heard some suspicious noises coming from one of the roads... followed by a handful of noises typical of armored people.
She flew on top of a roof only to see a unique, yet familiar sight! The frog mercenary Gabu running away from the armored guards... while carrying a golden lion. In recent memory, that golden lion had been stolen... by some noble who lived in a castle! Oh! That's what was happening! She needed to help!
With a swift movement, she jumped down into the chase, between Gabu and his pursuers, but began to fly, and would attempt to grab the Frog Mercenary, since she could fly faster than he could run.
'' Don't worry friend, I am here to assist!''
She would simply tell him, trying to re-assure that she was not some kind of super-powered servant of the king.
When she had him grabbed, and if he did not fight back, she would then go upward, where the knights could not catch up to them, or at least that's what Tiamat assumed at first.
If Gabu could sweat he sure would be feeling it on his skin. Sadly he was a frog. Though sweating didn't run in his family pool, exhaustion did. After running for some time. Darting through the crowds, breaking merchant tables and stalls in every turn. He finally darted his eyes towards the sky to see a woman saying that she was willing to help him! Gabu had no idea who this woman was and as he tugged the statue close to his body as she tried to grab it and missed, he immediately began to inhale so much air into his system and leaping away from the woman. His cheeks were so big that it made him look like a balloon figurine or a bobble head. He tried speaking to her but no words or anything audible wasn't picked up do to it all sounding like one noise each second.
"mmm mmmm mmm mmmm mmmm mmm mmmm mmmm"
Which translated on what he was trying to say.
"Listen here pink lady, I don't know ya"
Of course she didn't hear what he said but it didn't matter, he began to spit his mucus straight at the girl! He would make sure that he got his target well and firmed!
OOKPOOOT! OOKPOOOT! OOKPOOOT!
The size of the spit was big enough to cover a child's hand. It was the type of acid that would burn mere flesh and only break the first layer since he didn't hold it for a longer duration in his mouth.

On the list of things that Tiamat was not expecting to happen with her trying to help Gabu, him attacking her right when she just tried to help him escape from danger, alright, she would certainly need to defend herself!
Quickly enough, with a magical circle that appeared behind her, Tiamat would conjure a powerful barrier, strong enough to sustain through Gabu's whole offensive, she refused to smell like a swamp! Well, the new plan was letting the mercenary be captured, as clearly he did not intend on being nice... she should have seen that coming, Gabu was known to be an untrusting coward, but that slipped from her mind for a moment.
After Gabu's offensive crashed on her shield, the energy left in the barrier would turn into a blue beam that would soar towards the alien at great speed.
'' Well, if you refuse my help, I'll stop you from stealing that artifact then. MIRROR FORCE!''
She shouted as her attack went towards Gabu.
This whole situation was ridiculous, and Tiamat was fully aware that she could fun this fight at any moment if she decided to use her full power, but hopefully, there would be no need for that... her first conflict on Earth being a misunderstanding was definitively something.
Using Mirror Force to block all 3 Acidic Spit. 8,000 of power tanks all 3 2,500 with 500 remaining.

Gabu's three spit attack had impacted her shield and he noticed that the acid was starting to take effect or what he saw from his perspective. With his hands to his hips with confidence, he chuckled. The knights that were chasing him stood within 6ft from him just watching the events unfold.
"You really think that shield is going to work? My acid can penetrate anything it comes into contact with!"
His chuckle had soon turn into a light croak of confusion as he saw an energy
"Mirror what now?"
He looked in confusion as he saw a beam coming straight for him. He felt its power being strong that he decided to bring his thumb straight to his mouth and began to blow on it like a balloon. His body began to expand to bigger heights as he looked like a terrifying monster at 10ft and 500lb. The knights were indeed afraid of his newfound power and with his shadow casting over everyone, the attack was still coming. Luckily for her however, the attack had struck his stomach and just like that. He had popped like a balloon as he started to fly backwards from the attack.
De transforming and impacting the knights like he was a bowling ball hitting a bunch of pins for a strike out. The knights that chased him were now scattered like corpses and knocked out from the attack completely. Gabu laid on one of the knights that was unconscious and stood on his body like he was a champion. He kept his hands to his hips and now pointed his right index finger at the woman.
"Listen you! You don't make a fool out of me!"
As he tried to walk off the body, he tripped over nothing and fell flat on his face. The golden statue that he once held, now slid over to the woman's direction.
The moment Gabu transformed, Tiamat was slightly alarmed. This form, yeah, she totally forgot he could get this big! This was a problem, she would have to show her true color as well, and the town they were in... no... that was not good. But as her attack connected with the frog's stomach, and he was sent flying, knocking out of the fight the few royal knights behind him, she stood there, raising an eyebrow at the ridiculousness of that whole scene... with Gabu tripping and the golden statue sliding slowly towards her.
'' I have done nothing but try to help you... and defend me against your attack, but that is beside the point.''
She pointed at the statue with her palm, and it magically levitated and got into her hand. She observed it for a moment, it was really pretty for just some sculpture.
'' If you want it back, you're gonna have to apologize... or fight me for it... please don't fight me for it...''
She did not exactly want to harm more people from around here, but if the frog refused to stop fighting... maybe she could move outside of the village, so there would be less risk of collateral damage.
'' But if you chose to fight me, please let us move outside the village... we really don't need to put the lives of these people at risk... ''
She would simply ask of him, still holding the statue firmly in her hand, she did not exactly want him to try and tongue-grab it right out of her hand after all.
Gabu's mouth was covered in the dust sands of cobblestone and his eyes in a daze as he tried speaking to her while he coughed. No audio could be heard as he lifted his head up and now stood to his feet as he spat out the sand from his mouth and started to clean his tongue by using his hands to remove the extra sands that stuck to his tongue. After he got that all out and sat on the floor like a child with his legs extended outward. He looked like a toddler frustrated at an event that he had caused all on his own. He folded his arms across his chest and looked to the woman with slight squinted eyes.
"You apparently seem to know me. Yet, I have no idea who the hell you are! Listen here lady, if your one of my many night stands and you asking for some money from me, then tough luck! I'm broke!"
Gabu clearly was a big fat liar since he has never gotten with any woman and was using it to make himself look bigger than he actually was. He would scoot himself and turn away from her as he now had his back towards her as he sat there in the same position and looked over his shoulder.
"Now example yourself! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!"
He had a stern look on his face, Gabu had never met this woman and on top of that, she wore unusual clothes that no one else he has ever met wore.
Well, at least now Gabu was willing to somewhat talk... that was progress, albeit very few of it. Tiamat decided she would land near him, although far enough to be able to react to another salve of spit from his part and keeping the statue where she could see it.
'' Yeah, I know you. Well, I know about you, to be more precise, as we never met directly. Let's just say my job is to observe a large portion of the world you know, and I've just happened to follow your... uh... misadventure from time to time. It's usually pretty funny when it's not just sad...''
She would not even comment on the whole ' nightstand' thing, he was way too greedy to even spend the kind of money that would pay for someone of her appearance, or at least she was convinced so. It was clearly just either a way for him to brag or a way to reduce her, either way, it really did not work on her.
'' If you must know, I am Tiamat. I am a Kai, from the Otherworld, and I'm still waiting for that apology.''
She would simply say, waving around the golden lion.
'' Or you know, I could always keep it and bring it back to your employer. I wouldn't mind giving back something that was stolen to its original owner.''
Apparently this woman had known his struggles and misadventures. It was quite intriguing to say the least that someone followed his stories. Though as he climbed to his feet and stared at her, he wasn’t all too happy with it. Folding his arms across his chest, he looked to the woman with disgust. After learning who she was, he eyed her up and down and shaking his head.
“You are from this otherworld and you are a Kai or whatever. You have everything in this world and here I am doing this thieving job that the client wants back. Listen I don’t know who you are, so how do you expect me to hand you over the statue when I was being chased by those knights. I am willing to be your friend if you hand me the statue.”
He wondered if this woman would be his friend rather then an enemy. He has had bad luck before with partners but for some reason he felt like he could trust her. During his time on planet, it was mainly the saiyans that betrayed him on missions. Even though he didn’t believe all saiyans were bad, his luck with them betraying him was bad.
Now, she could understand why someone would think that, as a Kai from the Otherworld, she would have everything she needed... and while it was partially true, the real truth was, she could make most things she needed with her magic, but she could not exactly replicate something she never experienced, and did not do well in terms of earning money here on Earth. But she was definitively better off than him, who had to do some petty theft, albeit grand theft, to live his life in some form of comfort.
'' But I never asked you to hand me the statue, I only tried to grab you and bring you up so that these knights would not follow you. I don't blame you for doubting me but still...''
She would sigh lightly. She did not know exactly what to do in this situation. She felt like Gabu was not the WORST person on this planet, by a long shot, he was just someone who had a rough life and who only had crime to turn to for a living. At least, that's how she saw it.
Then, she made a decision. With a delicate movement of her free hand, she would use her magic to produce a replica of the statue that Gabu had stolen, effectively giving her two of that item.
'' A deal. Give this one to the original owner.''
She shook the original statue for a second.
''... then contact Mr. King Buttface up there, and tell him your boss double-crossed you or something, and that you can give him back his statue at a price.''
She got closer to Gabu and handed him both the statue, as a sign of goodwill.
'' That way, everyone is happy, and hopefully, you get a little bit of extra money, and get a good meal on me.''
She would then smile at the frog man in a friendly manner, trying to see the good in a man that was pretty rotten, but not to his core.
He had listen intently by what the kai had said and he was surprised when she mentioned a deception type of move that he didn't expect from a kai at all. Throwing out her high and mighty status, in order to help a frog out like himself. As he grabbed the statues in awe, he looked at them and could tell which one was the real one and which one was the fake since he never kept his eyes off the statue that she had gotten from him by pure accident.
"As much as I appreciate the offer. I'm not worried about this King and his men. I'm strong enough to take them on and the bounty that I already have on myself will only grow no matter what. I have lived my life as a mercenary and it shows for it with the many bounties that I have."
He would pull out a wanted flier and handed it over to her. Even though she probably knew this already, his current bounty was a mere joke compared to the masses, at 50,000 zeni and being wanted Alive, it was considered a joke compared to the true villains of the universe. He would give her back the replica statue and smiled at her.
"I appreciate wanting to protect me, but I have committed so much thievery that, that's what i'm known for throughout the galaxy."
He would put his satchel on the ground and place the original golden statue inside it and close it up. Placing his satchel across his chest and having the bag rest behind him just dangling. The old leather bag was clearly an indication that he wasn't wealthy by any means.
"The reason why I even do these jobs, is because I am too much of a coward to join the armed forces to make some actual real money and live a solid life."
He would chuckle and then croak, waiting to see what she would say before he jetted off to return the precious statue back to the client.
Tiamat was confused as to why Gabu refused to make his money twice by selling the Golden Statue to both his boss and the person he stole it from. As a thief, he should have seen the opportunity to double his profit, it really had nothing to do with his bounty or anything, it was fairly small for a mercenary, like he said, although 50,000 zenis could easily buy you a massive ship fully equipped to travel the stars... the Shinjin had no real idea of how the economy worked in the mortal world, only that it was mostly broken in many ways.
'' Alright then, although I don't really see why you would refuse such an offer.''
She simply said, throwing the replica away, which would explode in a thousand little sparkles of light. She did not exactly have any use of the object... nor did she have a place to keep it, as she was still technically homeless, even if she could create her own room wherever she pleased.
The story of Gabu's life was a sad one, and even he could admit that it was his own cowardness that prevented him from doing great things, evil or good.
'' You know, they say knowing your own fault is the first step in improving yourself, so perhaps you'll get the chance to show how brave you could be, what do you think?''
She smiled at her, a warm, dear smile, akin to a loving mother.
'' After all, they do say frogs turn into brave prince charming in the right circumstances, don't they?''
A flight of steps were near them and Gabu had placed both his index fingers together being nervous as he croaked. After she said her last quote, he thought that it was a sign from one of those frog fairy tales where the frog kisses the princess in order to turn back into his original form. The only problem was, Gabu didn't have another form.
"Your right and I think I know where we are going with this."
As he tried to tippy toe and lean in for the kiss, his nervousness got the better of him as he tripped passed the woman as he lost his footing and falling down a flight of steps, each one changing his posture entirely. From hitting his face and stomach, to now his back and back of the head. It was so comical that anyone who was nearby would chuckle in tears at the embarrassment of it all. As he reached the final step, he had a few new lumps on his head and back that it would take a day or so to get lower in size. He looked dazed and just laid there on the ground with stars roaming above his head like a cartoon. Though this couldn't be seen obviously and when his vision was now fixed, he looked to the sky, knowing that he had embarrassed himself. Luckily he had the golden statue in his bag safe and secured....
Tiamat was shocked that the mercenary would be daring enough to go for a kiss to her! It was sort of cute though, and she even thought of maybe giving her cheek, for the symbolic, but then Gabu fell down some stairs she had not even noticed, and she looked at him in a mixture of shock, awe, and hilarity as he comically tripped all the way down. She knew for a fact that he would not be seriously harmed, as he was a pretty strong lad, even if he was a coward, and even if he got hit on the head hard, it wouldn't do any lasting effects.
Quickly after he reached the bottom of his fall, Tiamat would follow Gabu, flying delicately and landing next to him. He looked funny in this way, but the poor little frog might have gotten his feelings hurt alongside his physical pain from the fall... that was horrible!
From behind, she would gently slide her arms around his neck in a delicate hug and give him a soft kiss on the forehead.
'' Don't sweat it, you don't have to rush your transformation into a prince. Your time will come, you'll just have to seize the opportunity then.''
She would say to him, using her Clothes beam to discretely clean his army, which had gotten dusted from the fall. If Gabu paid attention, he would notice that his clothes were not perfectly clean and a little extra comfy, as a treat.
If he could blush he would. However he had croaked in nervousness as she planted a kiss on his forehead. He looked up at her and noticed she had done some magic on him, which resulted in his clothes being more comfy. He now looked at her with a smile and had his hands to his hips.
"These clothes are nice and comfy. And as my prince transformation. hehe perhaps one day."
He had fantasize about the both of them being together, only to dismiss it as he didn't want to appear strange. As he brought his hand out to shake hers, he stared into her eyes.
"Thank you for caring about my untimely fall. I won't ever forget what you did for me."
He had croaked nervously again. He now had his hand at the back of his head and lightly scratched it.
"I think it's time for me to go. It was nice meeting you, even though you already know who I am."
After his slight and awkward chuckle, he would walk away in embarrassment. As he got a few feet away from her, he would call in his junkyard type of hover bike which arrived on scene shortly. It was covered in dust and old parts that he was surprise it still ran smoothly. The only thing new that he had was the engine and seat. As he got on it, he looked at her and blew her a kiss.
"Until next time!"
As he started the hover bike and due to his weight being added to the bike, the bike itself crumble into pieces and now he was just sitting on the chair that was the only thing intact. He sighed to himself and shook his head. How much bad luck did he truly have.... He just sat there in pure disappointment....
