It was finally time. Ise let out a few calming breaths as she made her way to her ship. It was a bit of a frustration that she would not be joining her Father on HIS ship for the trip there but he had assured her it was all for the best. Too many high power signatures arriving at once would tell Azoth exactly how things would be going down and give him more of a chance to call in backup.
She had TRIED to use the idea that she could reduce her overall power, but her ability to reduce it was somewhat limited and she supposed there WAS the issue of the likelihood of her anticipation for the coming battle influencing her power output. She was quite certain Azoth would pick up on her arrival if his ability to invade minds extended into a capacity for reading power so the general logic she had chosen to go with was that she would act as a beacon to draw Azoths attention away and he would be utterly caught off guard by her Father’s arrival.
She was of course still a bit unsure on the battle itself, but her Father had made it clear he had things all planned out and prepared and the fact his current power was below what she had last sensed Azoth’s power to be had not phased him much.
Ise just had to trust that her Father had some grand plan that would make any of Azoths own preparations irrelevant, perhaps he had Kayfor and others ready for battle to even the odds? Between herself and Kayfor Ise was fairly certain they could remove the threat Azoth posed, she had little knowledge of how many other fighters Azoth might have. Surely Paladion but being an Android it was impossible for Ise to guage her strength without having fought her.
Her Father DID have others so perhaps he had countermeasure for Paladion and anyone else brought on by Azoth…
With one last sigh Ise entered the ship, she gave a wave to her crew as she took her seat in the flight deck, a facsimile of the near throne present on her Father’s ship. EEveryone was quite busy and Ise could feel their nervousness radiating off of them, it made sense even if they had been assured that they would not be involved in the conflict directly that they would have some worry about what was coming.
Now she just needed to get to Arcose.
Meanwhile, as the ship began to take off the crew of Ise’s ship were nervous for reasons entirely separate from their Lady’s beliefs, not a single member of the crew feared the battle with Azoth or their ability to survive it.
After all, none would be present.
The crew had been given explicit orders by Lord Hibernal, they were NOT going to Arcose. They would be departing Plant at around the same time as his ship, they would follow until they were far outside Plant’s atmosphere, and then they would break off and depart for Earth.
It had been left unspoken WHY Hibernal had opted to send Lady Ise away from perhaps the most important battle of the Arcosians life, but quite a few had guessed why. To protect Ise. Azoth was incredibly powerful, that much was clear and for all the cruelty and terror Hibernal had been known for in his life there was one thing that every member of the NSFW knew for certain was his fondness for his Daughter.
Ise joining him on missions to conquer weaker planets was of no genuine risk, Ise ALONE could have performed many of those conquests, but this battle? This was not an easy won conquest, there was a genuine chance that Hibernal the Terrible would fall.
And presumably he wanted Ise away if there was a chance of it, so she would not see it or worse meet the same fate.
